    who will be answering?

  • Deus_Ex

There is no excuse for the way we played tonight. We played like crap!!!! The celtics outplayed us, we played no defense, and we didn’t even try to score.

  • gugy

    It’s over. Maybe next year.

Call the hotline, it is simply a message machine. So leave a voice message and we will have the mp3 avaiable for tonights podcast! Give us a ring!

  • Deus_Ex

I’m still blindly optimistic that we’ll make history and win the next three games. However, the stats are against us.

  • gugy

    Sorry Deus,
It will not happen. Lakers are too young and immature in some respects to make 3 in a row. Specially playing in Boston. We will be luck if we win Sunday.

    I want to believe, but I am being realistic. F U C K!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Deus_Ex

You are right bro, it’s a statistical impossiblity that we might even win the game on sunday. As you can see, Sasha melted down, and everyone just collapsed.

I just don’t understand how we get so comfortable, and allow them to chip away, and get under our skin. The celtics and Doc Rivers did a good job of destorying the team’s confidence. His changes in matchups bewildered our younger players, and it caused us to not excute the way we did in the first half. Odom and Gasol played dumb that second half. They had the miss-matches and they did not take advantage.

Kobe did not play like an MVP tonight, it was like he was afraid to be him. This was Kobe’s worst performance of the playoffs. The Team did a good job, and our leader failed us down the stretch.

  • http://hzmdesigns.com hZm

Well these should be interesting… :-/

  • Freshh

    I left one as phantom

how can i hear it online??

  • Tim Donaghy

    Anyone else see a trend?

Game 1: Paul Pierce leaves the game in a wheelchair only to come back 2 minutes later to make two 3 pointers and lead the Celtics to victory.

Game 2: Little-used reserve Leon Powe has a breakout game to lead the Celtics to victory, complementing the half-time feature on his hard-luck life.

Game 3: After a game with one-sided officiating along with evidence that the NBA manipulated playoff games in the past, the officiating switches to favor the Lakers in the first half. Sasha Vujacic has the game of his life as the Lakers climb back into the series.

Game 4: The Celtics are going down one-by-one. Pierce playing with one knee. Rondo with one ankle. Kendrick Perkins strains a shoulder. The Lakers go up 24 points. BUT, just when things couldn’t get worse for the Celtics, they claw their way to the lead for the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history!

Game 5: Kobe Bryant has a 50 point game, registering nearly a triple-double. The MVP showed why he deserved to be the MVP.

Game 6, in Boston: Kevin Garnett has a concussion. The whole Boston Garden goes silent for five minutes while they try desperately to revive him. Ray Allen breaks his right arm. It looks like the Celtics will lose Game 6. Instead, KG comes back in the second half and Ray Allen starts draining threes with his left hand. The Celtics go on to win the title in the most dramatic way possible.

3 players who never made it to the Finals. A team that finished in last place last season only to come back and lead the NBA in wins this season. Wheelchairs, rags-to-riches, never-quit comebacks, perseverance despite near-death experiences.

AND, Red Auerbach’s team depriving Phil Jackson of his 10th NBA Championship. WHAT A STORY!!!

… but David Stern is right: the NBA doesn’t fix games. riiiiight!

  • yellowpurplefever

What the hell was that!!! Phil got outcoached by Doc. The whole team failed especially KOBE. Its gonna be too tough to climb back into the series. We have NO defense. I did not see Ariza in the second half. Its hard to say it..We will get them next year! We will pick up some defensive players in off season and toughing up. Get Artest vs Pierce the actor

  • G4L

Sorry guys its over!! Give yourself a pat on the back though… I mean it was only the worse choke job ever!

  • Deus_Ex

That was indeed the worst Choke job ever. We can cry and say we didn’t get calls in the second half, but we can only blame ourselves for that. Paul Pierce does an excellent job in faking contact so he can get calls, our team needs to try and do the same thing.

Secondly, Kevin Garnett, & PJ Brown with their moving screens are becoming a pain in the @$$. However, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Thirdly, I’m getting sick and tired of these Boston dramatic injuries, what is going to happen next?

  • http://deleted Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

This is total BULLSHIT, fouling is fouling; overplaying aggressiveness does not give you a free pass to foul in a fairly officiated game. I don’t care what anybody says. … For most of that 3rd quarter, and again towards the end of the game, Boston had a FREE pass to get away with hacking, with no fear of getting a foul called. Naturally when the balance of ALLOWED aggression is tilted toward one team, that team will outscore any other team on the planet. … That being said, Phil Jackson’s tendency for letting his players play thru adversity for too long, has caught up with him…BIG TIME! … With a 20 point lead in the 3rd quarter, nobody, except Jackson, waits until the opposing team dwindles the lead down to 4 before putting a stop to it!…especially when it was extremely obvious, the Celtics were allowed to overplay on every defensive stop…He allowed this situation to manifest itself, instead of stepping on his opponents neck and not allow even the slightest change of momentum to occur, regardless of these refs intervention. … My friend Luis Yzquierdo has asked me to mention on this post, what a stupid IDIOT coach Phil Jackson really is, and I must agree 1000%. …But, as I have been saying all along, this is a fixed series and there is no way the Lakers can win…Who fouled Pierce, on the drive, when he passed, towards the end of the game?… No fun, WIN OR LOSE, watching an imbalanced allowance in a competition, such as this one… The NBA DESERVES to be under the microscope that they currently are under. … And I hope everyone responsible gets 1000% of their just deserts handed to them, right down their throats… ENOUGH SAID!

  • Andrew

What? No blaming the refs again? But that’s the Laker fan way: to cry “conspiracy”. Let’s face it: Lakers sucked and should have been swept. Once again, Mr. MVP ball hog Kobe had a sparkling 6-19 performance. The next Jordan….yeah…. Those 3 rings were Shaq, not this “And One” selfish egotistical guy who makes his teammmates worse by pulling them down not building them up. Let’s face it, the 3 rings were all about Shaq. He went to the finals with the Magic, he won 3 with the Lakers, and he won in Miami. Kobe has….well…not done anything!
History will show that he was just a very talented flashy player, just not a good basketball player. There’s a difference. I mean, he’s won what? two scoring titles and one MVP? So what? Alex English won like 8 scoring titles and you never even hear of him.
Anyway, Deja Vu. In the finals against Detroit we heard this crap about the refs for 4 games, then by the 5th game the Lakers fans blinders came off and they finally admitted that they sucked.
All those lukewarm bandwagon Laker fans can take those stupid flags off their cars and put those BRAND NEW jerseys they just bought and put them back in the closet. Come on: Sasha? Jordan Farmar? These guys wouldn’t get off the bench on most teams.
How come Lamar Odom hit his first 7 shots in 14 minutes, then only got 4 more shots the rest of the game? Was he stealing the spotlight from someone else?
Here’s a guy who basically said “F… Los Angeles, I’m never playing there again.” They sucker fans took him right back. The team still sucked until Gasol came over and made them a winner. Oh, but Kobe got the credit (MVP) for how great a passer he was.

Whatever, go cry yourself to sleep Laker fans. You suck and you’ll never win again.

  • Deus_Ex

It’s amazing how these celtics fans have crawled from out of that $hithole they’ve been in the past 21 years. The fact is, the refs bailed you guys out every single game. Having watched that fourth qtr again, I can no longer be pissed at my team, because there were points where they were fouled and the refs looked away, however I cannot let them off the hook of not drawing attention to those fouls.

  • Andrew

Oh my gosh, it’s already started. Stupid Laker fans are actually STILL blaming the refs. hahahaha. I can’t believe it! Can they really be that idiotic? Grow up and take your loss like a man. How pathetic are you? You just choked the biggest lead in finals history and you’re blaming the refs, AGAIN????!!!!
Well, one more loss and it all changes to “the blame game” and finger pointing. “It’s Coach Jackson’s fault”…”it’s fixed”…”the NBA deserves better”…
Only in L.A., I heard this same crap from the Raider fans when I lived there. Typical L.A.

  • http://deleted Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

Shut up Andrew, You will never be able to justify the one-sided officiating your Miami Heat team benefited from in 2006 Series….TAINTED, BIG TIME… JUST LIKE YOU!… IT’S YOU WHO SUCKS, HUMONGOUS D I C K S, BIG TIME

  • Andrew

My Miami Heat team? Are you dyslexic or something? Who said I was a Miami fan? I live in Texas and used to live in L.A. so I saw firsthand what crybabies the sports fans are out there. I gotta admit: it just makes it sweeter to see the usual “blaming the refs” that Laker fans always do. You can’t just admit you’ve got the lousier team and have been outplayed.
Should have been a sweep. Even game 3 you guys got all the calls and darn near lost the game. One-sided? Comical and pathetic.
Prediction: in game 5 Kobe will pull the act he pulled against Phoenix and earlier against Sacramento, by not shooting for a whole half while the team gets blown out, just to prove a point. (which is??)

  • Deus_Ex

Andrew you know what you can do, how about you go choke some d1ck. We’re the greatest franchise in league histroy so we have every right to be pissed. No team has more divisional championships than us, no team has been to the finals more than us. No team has a better winning precentage than us. So go suck your mother!!!

Don’t worry, it gets worse. Sunday night when Boston blows out L.A. and eliminates them on their home floor in front of all the celebrities and Kobe gets into a shouting match with Phil (who will write another book about how much Kobe is a jerk and is a lousy teammate who hurts teams he is on.)
At least you’ve got the Dodgers (suck) and the Raiders (suck). Have you gone to any Sparks games?

There are only two things in Texas 1) Steers and 2)Queers.. and you don’t sound much like a steer.

  • http://www.myspace.com/orionis deus_ex

I bet Andrew can suck a golf ball through a garden hose. I’m sure he’s a San Antonio Queer who can’t take the fact that we dethroned them.

It’s interesting because everyone loves to hate on the lakers, and it’s becasue we’re the best. What other team has it’s own nation?

    Don’t worry I’ll wait. (chirp…….chirp…..chirp)

Thought so. No other team has fans as passionate as us, and that’s what makes the Lakers great. Us the fans!!!

Anyone who doesn’t like that can suck their mother!!!

  • http://deleted Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

Steers and QUEERS… Is there any doubt about it?… freakin MARICON!!!!

  • Rinnegato

Hey Andrew. You’re in TEXAS. You’re neither a Laker fan, and most likely a bandwagon Boston fan who’s probably never been there. So yeah, keep it up with your “analysis”, won’t do any good here cuz we don’t give a crap about what you think.

  • http://deleted Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

Best case scenario? Lakers win 3 straight, so we can all stick Andrew in his tiny little itsi-bitsi pocka dotted A S S holie, during the GREATEST parade of all time…. just a thought.

  • Andrew

Mr. Juan has GOT to be gay, that’s like 6 references to it from him already. Hey dude, whatever floats your boat and takes your mind off the game, maybe you should try a gay website or something since that’s all you keep talking about. I’m trying to talk about basketball.
Idiots, I’m from L.A. and always talk crap with all my friends about all their teams and they talk crap about mine: that’s the fun of it. But you stupid whiners on here constantly blame the refs and try to act tough ??
Learn the game and how to defend your team (or accept the fact that they are not the better squad.)

  • Tim Donaghy

Actually, Andrew, if you look at the statistics without making your conclusions first, you’ll see that the refs did call a lopsided second half. After the Lakers got a big advantage at the line in the first half, they evened it out in the second by giving Boston the advantage. The only problem is, if you looked at the fouls they called on Boston in the first half, they were HARD fouls, including some wind-ups and some post-whistle hacking. That is, they were well-deserved. Boston plays defense by hacking, but the Lakers play defense by spacing. If they called things consistently, there would be a huge foul disparity in favor of the Lakers. However, to even things up they have to call touch-fouls on the Lakers, like the one on Kobe where Pierce was driving and out did his Oscar-worthy Game 1 performance.

In essence, while trying to be “fair” in one measure (fouls/free-throws), the refs are being unfair in another (called contact). The problem with Laker fans is not that we’re whining about bad calls, but that we wish that the measure of fairness was something more reality-based rather than numbers-based. It is entirely reasonable to say that the officiating was balanced because the fouls were even. It is also reasonable to say that the officiating was unbalanced because of missed calls in the process of balancing the numbers.

If you honestly believe that there is no manipulation in games then I envy your ignorance and poor analytical ability. Ignorance is bliss. I only pity the fact that you feel the need to post on these discussion forums without anything but vitriol to back up your claims. You must love to hear yourself speak. Perhaps your are looking for validation through the number of angry responses you can generate.

Anyway, if you’d like to have an intelligent discussion, by all means, post a reply. However, if you are incapable of thinking beyond the abilities of a 4-year old, you’d probably be best served in finding ways to build self-confidence other than posting on anonymous Laker blogs. You’ll never find the love that mom and dad never gave you through the cold hard keys of a computer.

    Excellent Post tim!!!!

  • http://deleted Mr. Juan / Your Warlock

Very, well stated, Tim Donaghy…. As for Andrew, dude you are not talking basketball as you state, you are talking like the “beep” that you are… Texas, should be ashamed of themselves for letting steers and “beeps” out of the Corral… DUDE, stay out of this blog, or else expect to be humiliated… PINCHI JOTO!… There you go, another reference.

One voice and it change a room, and if it can change a room it can change a city, and if it can change a city it shall change our team, and when it changes our team, we will be the best in the world!!!!

  • Andrew

Unbelievable! I love it! You guys actually believe it’s the refs who are beating the Lakers. I’m speechless for once.
I had to email my friends in L.A. (all huge Laker fans) and they all agreed that you are IDIOTS and sore losers.
Tim Donaghy, you wrote a nice little vignette there. I don’t know if you’re phychotic or in denial but it’s astounding how even the Laker players and coaches don’t blame the refs, only themselves, yet you come up with an “analytical” formula to discover the bias of the refs. What a joke.
I hope you don’t go through life that same way, attempting to avoid responsibility by laying blame on everyone but yourself.
