Ariza gives Grant Hill a MONSTER FACIAL JAM!

So I’d thought I’d post this. This was one of the nastiest jams of this NBA season and one of the best in Ariza’s career. I’ve loved the trade since day one and this just makes it all the better. The guy is an athletic freak. In fact, in some basketball worlds this would be considered illegal…

Wanted to get this uploaded for yall! Merry X-Mas!

    Merry Christmas everyone!

  • Flush Odumb

Anyone miss Luke out there? Trevor is so much more athletic.

We need more time for Trevor! Time to get rid of our garbage.

Someone please tell Lame-ar NO OUTSIDE SHOTS!!! He STINKS!!!

  • Edward

    GREAT GAME…. enough said.

  • Flush Odumb

Our team looks better WITHOUT Brown-stain and Luke. What a steal Ariza was. How fortunate we were to get rid of that flatfooted stiff Cook.

Next year we need to unload the rest of our garbage incuding Lame-ar, Brown-stain, Luke, Sasha, and Mihm.

  • http://hhb PHANT0M

Disagree with walton and odom PT..^

    But Gr8 WIN!

  • Kobefan24

ARIZA IS THE FUTR, AND THE FUTER IS HERE!!!!

  • Flush Odumb

    Hey Phantom
How about the game Luke had out there!

And did you see how many shots Lame-ar missed? His outside shooting is horrendous. Time to FLUSH ODUMB!!!

  • Jrich

Yes, dump O-dumb. Dump Luke. Dump Sasha. Dump Mihm. Get Kidd!!! Start Ariza!!

  • Kwame MVP

Did you guys hear…right after Ariza posterized Hill, one of the fans in the front row yelled out to Hill, “Could you sign my Poster?” LOL

  • http://hhb PHANT0M

    Herd that on sports zone^

and at phantom, unless we get a phenomenal deal to trade for odom,
    i wouldnt release him..
he didnt have a great game 2day
    but 15 and i think 13 rebounds??
Pfft, he gets an abundance of the rebounds, and is a pt
if why lakers are being so successful.

  • mplakers

DUMP THEM FOR WHO????? ALL I HEAR IS DUMP HIM, DUMP THEM, DUMPYDIDUMPDUMP THIS AND DUMPYDIDUMPDUMP THAT…DUMP THEM FOR WHO?????????????????????????????????????????? THE BEST THING FOR THE LAKERS RIGHT NOW, WHICH IS WHY THEY ARE WINNING, IS THAT THOSE GUYS ACTUALLY MAKE QUALITY BENCH PLAYERS. LAMAR, IF YOU NOTICED TODAY, IS A MONSTER IN THE POST. HE EITHER NEEDS TO PRACTICE MORE JUMPSHOTS OR GET SMART AND JUST POST UP ALL DAY LONG.

YES, I WOULD LOVE TO “DUMP” LAMAR FOR SOMEONE MORE RELIABLE BUT, THERE ARE NO TEAMS WILLING TO HELP US OUT RIGHT NOW.

  • osm0nd

I could of sworn there were a lot more anti-Ariza people here a month ago…. I do not miss Cook or Mo whatsoever.

  • David

Odom for Artest straight up. Good for both teams. Sac would have to throw in a filler to make the salary’s match. If not we’ll probably get Ron in the off-season.

  • David

I was skeptical of the Ariza trade at the beginning, but it is starting to pay off. Also, do not dump Odom, he gets alot of rebounds and does some of the little things and maybe Luke would be better with the second team.

  • nyla

Replica dunk Kobe did over Nash a two years ago.

  • RDLAKB24

exciting play however could have been called a charge! we got lucky!

  • keep24

We’re an Odom trade away from competing.

We have to get rid of this fool. Can we send him back to Miami? I don’t care what we get back, just get rid of this fool.

That fool is working on a massive brick city.

PHIL – Stop this fool, and stop him now!!!!!!!

  • lalaland

why all the trade talk. we are winning right now why change anything. sure lamar is shooting too much outside shots but he is playing solid d and gets a lot of boards. ariza should be starting and that dunk was sweeeeeet. ariza is the athletic slasher that we need when they double kobe and bynum.

  • Flush Odumb

    Right on keep24!

I’m glad to see there are some people smart enough to see the big picture out there!

  • Nabil

That was great…and more to come. :)

  • savemore

welcome to phoinex hill where people get postrize !luv it!

I think we found our starter at the small forward position in Trevor Ariza. However, please someone from the Laker coaching staff, give him some jump shooting lessons. He’s a terrible jump shooter. He’s a great slasher, very athletic, but he needs to work on his outside game or else he’ll become a one dimesional player that other teams will dare him to shoot. He needs to work on his outside game in the offseason (if he’s available, hire Cooper to teach him how to shoot).

  • http://www.mr47.com mr47

I’ll admit that I was one of the people upset over the trade. It wasn’t really because I was doubting Ariza (I actually hadn’t heard much from him), but I was upset at giving up Mo Evans. That being said, Ariza has not disappointed. Good trade.

  • Ignard

    Kobe’s reaction, priceless.

If the Lakers coaching staff had someone that could teach better jump shooting I think they would have done that with Cook back in the day or Odom presently.

Ariza could easily replace Odom as the third option if he continues to slash and go to the hole every time. There is no reason for him to shoot jump shots in the first place. Ariza could easily average a double-double every night if he slashes and moves around as well as he did today.

I think Lame-a$$ O-dumb would be better off the bench.

  • http://thelakersnation.com kb24 4life

the dunk was sick and do not trade lamar..

  • lakerfan_24

damn what the hell are people here talking crap about odom and saying to trade him for anything or artest. lamar could create his own shot, very good in the post, great rebounder, but a terrible shooter. thats okay no ones perfect kobe had 8 turn overs today wuppdedo. are team is playing great basketball for us. and ariza cannot be are 3rd scoring option, kobe first, bynum, lamar and fisher before him. so dont say he 3rd scoring option. if you guys say lamar needs to learn how to shoot better which i agree, trevor ariza needs to learn how to shoot as well. he is very athletic, good slasher and a very good dunker. we dont need no trades i think are team is fine the way it is. we have great chemistry. i dont want kidd because we will give up 2 many players kwame and farmer mostly. we need bigs and kwame could play d and farmer is improving each day. if anything we need a small trade nothing to break are team chemistry. now we got utah and boston. lets kill thier a$$es.

  • razz

No matter how Ariza turns out, Luke will never be able to do what Ariza did today. Great finisher. But I still would not trade Luke. Not yet…

  • e

that dunk brought the house down today!!!!!!!!

  • pjt

Odom is fine…he’s just not our number 2 option as most people would love for him to be. That being stated with Andrew B. starting to become our number 2 option…it makes Odom our 3rd or 4th which is good for him, and the reason we are winning now. I think if we trade anyone right now…it should be Kwame, Rad, or Sash, and maybe Walton but yes if you were to add Artest or someone of that type for Kwame or Rad or Sash…we would be the top team in the league next to the Celts.

I don’t agree with this comment at all:

There is no reason for him to shoot jump shots in the first place

If Ariza doesn’t develop an outside shot, he’s going to be a one dimensional player that all teams will just leave open and dare him to shoot from the outside, knowing that he’s not a good outside shooter. He needs to develop an outside shot (I even hate to say this but right now, I think Odom is a better outside shooter than Ariza).

As much as you dislike Odom (and I’m not a big Odom fan either), Odom is a good rebounder and he is a big reason why the Lakers are one of the top rebounding teams in the entire NBA.

  • http://getgarnett.com jonasjulienjoseph

    lol AriZA FOR PRESIDENT

  • http://www.myspace.com/jwalksocali jermaine mciver

You gotta think about starting Ariza now his defense and aggresive play help the starting unit alot. I like Luke but maybe he and Jordan could lead the second unit.

  • http://deleted JBMONKEYMAN

why is everyone all over Odom on this post. He is contributing nicely right now. Hes just not the number two scorer that everyone wants him to be. Hopefully Bynum can continue to fill that role with consistency. Ariza needs to be able to shoot a j to create spacing in the triangle but it will come with time, hes a keeper. Im not one of those fools who was upset about losing Mo Evans, i loved the trade from day 1. Now i just want them to package Kwame and someone else for another solid player and we can be elite.

This was a pretty sick dunk. You had staples center going wild when he dunck on Hill. This trade that the Lakers did with the Magic has to be a steal.

  • Tim

i jumped out my chair screaming when that happened and my lil brother was like ‘what happened’

    and plus, DONT TRADE ODOM

thank you i agree he needs to take his ass to the rim

  • DCLAKER

    DAMN!!!(that’s all)

  • Jimmy

Gents… you can talk down on Odom all you want, but he is one of the reasons why this team is a great rebounding team. He is a mismatch at the SF position and plays good defense. I just wish he would cut out those dumb charging plays… Sheesh, do you not see the guy planting his feet? He is so long he can easily side step them and just slam it. either way, he’s good to have on the team… not a clutch guy however.
