More trade rumors surrounding Bosh and the Lakers.

NBA: The Lakers also are expected to enter the picture with a bid for Bosh as it became clear in the Finals they need more scoring. And you can be sure they don’t want to see a LeBron/Bosh pairing in Chicago with Rose and Noah to go against. The Raptors would like to get something in a sign-and-trade for Bosh, but they likely won’t deal him in the East. The Lakers are expected to offer Andrew Bynum, a legitimate low post center, and Lamar Odom, and take back Jarrett Jack, whom the Raptors would like to move

  • drive-for-16th

    FUKKKKK NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • tradesasha

haha drive, i feel you man!! This would be the worst trade that the lakers will ever made..!!

      • tooshort29

this is a bad trade as far as reapting championships but we still get alot of talent back

        • pricelesst

idk why i can never let go of these 2 guys but it really is a bad trade

          • lakers0828

I agree with Everything You guys Just say Stupid Rumors
            and Dumb Trade

    • Lakersince75

Pau is not a real center and neither is Bosh. Why would we do that unless we went out and got a center and were trying to clear salary ???????? We could use Jack though. (off the bench) Lamar is good for the money we’re paying. Luke, Ron’s contract length and Sasha is another story

      • Lakersince84

Why do the Lakers need a ‘real center’ ? Because of how dominant and successful the lakers were in the Shaq era? Phil was a coach for the Bulls before he coached the Lakers, when did they have a ‘real’ center? How many championships did the bulls win vs the lakers with Phil? Bosh is a perfect fit for the triangle offense up front, with Pau gasol amd Bosh up front the triangle will be unstoppable.

    • http://twitter.com/rodneysuccess Rodney Pickett

I really dont know about this trade but honestley this trade would def make L.A. a weaker bench, but it would’nt be bad if we could trade bynum&Brown&a pick for Bosh, but I would’nt do it unless I can def get some other Versitle forward on the bench like LO, Last stand lets bring back the 3peet

      • lol

brown ???? lol are u stupid or what brown will become the best player on the lakers pretty soon

  • http://www.twitter.com/TLN24 Marwan Marzina

To be honest, I hate this trade. Bynum showed that he is determined to win as he showed it in the Finals and he still contributed. If we have a healthy Bynum, imagine what he can do!

    • KWAME SUCKS

When will we ever see a healthy Bynum? That’s the problem.

      • Eidraq

that’s why i think it might be interesting

    • Marwan Deletes My Comments

IF, IF, IF…If this, if that, that’s all we ever hear about Bynum. The reality: he WILL have knee problems the rest of his career. Period.

      • gameplan

the buzz will be become more richer! imagine bosh, tmac, kobe and pau in LA that means more money…I like bynum but idk his knee, but if this means Odumb to go, I’ll be happy with that.

  • Eidraq

emotionally, i dont want this trade to happen..but this might end up being interesting

  • http://thetruthrenaissance.wordpress.com/ BE_A_LakerFan

    I don’t like that trade. I’m good.

  • Mamba24Goat

we have to keep bynum. this is ridiculous. we have to figure something else out. please don’t let this happen Mitch

  • ronin99

OH HELL NO!!! Thank god this is just a rumor and thats it!

  • http://utcpla24.mylakersnation.com utcpla24

NO WAY THIS TRADE SHOULD BE DONE! I for one am very impressed with the Andrew Bynum who showed up this season. And I believe that we have yet to see the fruits of the labor that he has put in during the offseason, because of injuries. But the best part about it, injured or not, WE STILL WIN. And giving up BOTH of them, I’m sorry, I wouldn’t do it. Also…if this is done just to combat a possible, LJ, Wade,Bosh hook-up is crazy, because, they still have to get there to the finals, and since they in the East, we don’t have to get “though” them to make it, AND..that’s only 3 names to our 5, Pau, Kobe,Ron, Andrew,Lamar, so one thing is for sure, they not all going to average, 30pts a game. So Mitch please don’t do anything Rash. And it’s not like Bosh has proven himself on the defensive end at all. Sheesh.

  • Lamar

does not look fair to me. can’t give both for that chump. dont need an extra pau. what we need are veteran shooters and defenders. possibly a backup pg like steve blake or earl watson.

  • Mario Gonzalez

Sorry but this trade is appealing.
Lamar can’t score consistently, Bosh can
    Bynum is ALWAYS injured
J Jack would be a GREAT starting pg.

    Just saying, think about it.

    • Anthony

I have to agree. I love Bynum as a lakers center but he is always hurt and I want a center that will help bring another title to LA. Bosh is one of those centers that can shoot and pass the ball plus he can play other positions too. We should focus on helping the point guard position since shannon brown is leaving LA farmer isn’t getting another contract from the lakers.

      • Michael

Actually, Bosh is a power forward. This trade would likely move Gasol to starting center.

    • stucktrader

Bosh can’t play D on a guard like Lamar… Can’t shoot the 3-ball… THEN AGAIN, Bosh is not as thick as Bynum… If anything, I say maybe ONLY BYNUM or ONLY ODOM for BOSH. THEN send Brown and whoever to make it work money wise……..

    • HATER

Bosh will get third pick at scoring just like if he went with LJ and Wade so he might not do so much scoring

  • Mamba24Goat

this only makes sense if we get T-Mac and some other scorers off the bench like Kyle Korver. but even at that its risky. I say we give up Odom and some other piece but not Bynum. hell earlier in the season they JUST wanted Bynum. why would we give up 2 now?

    • Eidraq

      just might be worth it

    • KWAME SUCKS

Sure it’s a risky move. But don’t you think keeping Bynum after 3 straight seasons with injury, not including a knee injury in high school which caused him to miss his senior season, risky also?

      • Mamba24Goat

yeah you’re probably right Kwame. and theres no way bynum or bosh is coming off the bench. the Lakers will have to figure something out.

  • mr.laker

Interesting… dats for sure, but Pau and Bosh are very similar players, Bynum is more physically dominating and has great potential, so far the question is will he ever reach it? And Odom is inconistent. Overall i think we need to make bench moves and get a PG to split minutes with Fish since Farmar and Shanon mite be gone.

    • http://www.twitter.com/TLN24 Marwan Marzina

If you don’t know by now, Farmar is more gone than Shannon is. Farmar said he wants more minutes, wants to be a starter, wants to lead a team AND said he wants to take his talent to a team where he can lead them every night. Thats a polite way of saying “so long LA, thanks for the rings”

Shannon is opting out BUT he said he wants to resign and the Lakers can resign him for the MLE which they don’t want to use. So at this point, its just Derek Fisher coming back and even thats not for certain.

  • trippleocho

HHEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLL NNNNNNOOOOOO. We will have the worst bench in the league. No thanks

    • Michael

We already have the worst bench in the league…

      • cqc_NastyN8

        lol yah our bench sucks

  • 09-10-11champs!

Look at this Kobe quote during the NBA FINALS! :
    .
reporter: did you do something to keep LO last summer?
    .
kobe: nah, nothing at all man, I just told him: if you go, I´ll kill you, thats all.
    .
Kobe ABSOLUTELY LOVES L. BUGGY, wont let him go, and lamar, inconsistent or no, is a very key part of this team.
    .
I loved the Bynum/Bosh idea during the deadline , but Drew showed me a lot during the playoffs that he wants to contribute.

    • Odom the worst player

What do you think Kobe would say. It would be politically incorrect to say he wanted that loser Odom to go. Come on man. Yes Bynum did show a lot, but not Odumb. He never shows up. The odom lovers on this site talks about how great odom is. They don’t remember what greatness is, like when we had Big games james worthy who played the same position as odom. Next time this guy plays really watch him and you will see all he does is drive left, misses layups, crashes into people, and not try on defense. The lakers don’t need this guy.

      • Your Retard

Your retard, LO was one of the key reasons we beat Orlando in 09. Guys like him and D-Fish aren’t expected to do double double figures every night its just a bonus. They are there for the defense as key players to Phil J way of coaching, if it was Ariza we would have kept him instead of LO.

        • Odom the worst player

We are talking about overall stupid. This guy has not lived up to expectation

  • Monkija87

the bench would suck, unless someone is interested with getting a ebanks/caracter + walton + draft pick combo for a back up big man. the lakers would still have the MLE to sign a solid athletic wing man who can spread the floor (mcgrady, barnes, bell etc.). there are options out there. jack would be coming off the bench, since the Lakers will obviously resign Fisher.

I have full faith in whatever Mitch decides to do.

  • http://getgarnett.com golakers75

this would be a good trade if the lakers only had to give up one of those two..maybe a bynum, walton, and sasha for bosh and jack, but there is no way that the lakers could give away two bigs and expect to be as dominate as we are now, and mitch knows that!!!!

  • keepon_keepinon18

NO WAY. Lamar showed what he is capable of… even though he is way inconsistent, he is very valuable to the Lakers winning. Additionally, if Jordan and Shannon leave, that leaves the Lakers with the 6th man Lamar and 7th man Luke(?).
Also, Drew showed that he is willing to overachieve for success this post-season. FORGET Bosh, the Lakers don’t need more scoring… only more options on scoring. The defense can last them and, to fortify their team’s depth, they need to look for quality role players. I see no reason to pull the trade for another “marquee” star.

  • Popcorn

No way, Bosh is a good player and Jack is a decent pg/sg kind of player that might get better with experience but I wouldn’t trade them for Odom and Bynum. IMO the Lakers core is untouchable. Fish(old but the Lakers love him and let’s face it CLUTCH player), Kobe, Artest,Odom,Gasol,Bynum are untouchables imo. Lakers should try to get Josh Childress (if possible) and get a couple of sg/pg blue collar players for the bench.

    Ideally starting 5

    Childress, Kobe,Artest,Gasol, Bynum.

Bench: Fish, Javaris Critterton?, Ronald Murray or Raja Bell, machine, Ebanks, Odom, Caracter, Mbenga. Maybe they could add Mike Miller (crosses fingers) or even Tmac? and I’ll not be shocked if Shaq starts kissing ass to end up with the Lakers I guess will see. Lol

    Don’t mess the core thought.

  • SHOWTIME4EVA

VERY BAD IDEA.we don’t need that kind of over haul,we need pieces,we need addition,we need strong role players.we just won back to back with these guy’s.replacing them with unproven players, that would end this run.we just won! and i get the feeling we are dismantling,as if we lost.

    • SHOWTIME4EVA

i think adding raymond felton(pg),ronnie brewer(sg),and channing frye(pf/c) would be way better.

  • kwame4mvp

Horrible trade. We don’t need 2 players with the same body type that are really power forwards that play the center position just because theres a need. Bynum might be injury prone but he has proven to step it up when in crunch time. Keep the young fella.

  • Westcoast B!tch

Can someone explain to me what’s so great about Chris Bosh? Wasn’t he on that team that Kobe dropped 81 pts on. Fuk that dude. If Mitch were to trade Bynum and LO that would be the stupidest move ever, unless we get DWill, Durant or Melo( would never happen). Lakers need a bench!!!! Thats it, guys who can give a Kobe, Pau, Artest breaks during the regular season that way we have all of our starters fresh and healthy come postseason!!!!! I say if TMac still has enough juice left in the tank, give him a shot

    • why?

Exactly man thats what im sayin but everybody is so blinded by the fact that he can avg 20 10 on a bad team and make a couple allstar teams that they dont realize that we would be losing 2 highly skilled big man to get a copy of the one we already have

  • mecka24

F*ck noooooooooooooooo!!! we dont need 2 power fowards!

  • R T

are we trying to get softer?

    • kobe-wan kenobi

nope just healthier since bynum is ALWAYS injured
and next year in PO his injury might cost us the ring

i respect a lot Bynum for this post season
      he fought and manned up
but sorry ab, as you said, u r injury prone

time to get some player that actually can play

anyway both odom and bynum for bosh is too much since we lose 2 bigs for 1

hopefully mitch can find a different deal

      • R T

AB was tougher then all our bigs and he was on one leg. He was the only one dunking in traffic and the only one fouling hard to prevent the 3 point plays. Our core is good, need to resign Fish, get another tough big(shaq?) and another point (blake? livingston?).

        • mecka24

          agreed RT

      • HATER

well then get another big and not a skinny

      • why?

right and Bosh is Gaurenteed to be healthy next year becuase he is not gonna get in their and bang with the big man he is gonna be to busy shooting jumpers all game so we wont have to worry about him getting hurt because he doesn want to be a physical presence so their is less of a chance of injury for him

  • http://www.jackyang.info Jack Y.

This is a BAD trade. Bosh already said in a recent interview that he does not want to play center. Additionally, Raptors should be the one worried right now because Bosh can leave Raptors without sign-and-trade. I think this is just a rumor, and that there is no truth to it. It doesn’t make sense to give up both players for Bosh.

  • purpleandgoldforlife

This is not a valid rumor. There aren’t any sources. This is just fun to talk about as a fan but it is nothing else. When I read the article it seems to me that this is just someone’s opinion on he thought the Lakers “should” offer for Bosh. If Mitch offers LO and Bynum for Bosh he should be fired. Who cares about J. Jack.

  • http://www.vidaguerrasbutt.com/vida-guerra-playboy-picture-a_17.html#pic daboss1849

Im getting hard just thinking about this trade. We can finally say goodbye to odumb. we then sign brad miller to be our 3 man rotation and we upgrade at pg. done deal…

    • Paul

u get hard watching Sasha play. You have to steal names on this site you are such a loser.

    • HATER

The ladies get me hard not guys being traded you sick sucka. Serious problems

  • Westcoast B!tch

Fuccccc Bosh!!! Fucccc Wade!!!!!!! Fuc Bron!!!!!!!! Fucc the Heat!!!!!!!!! Fucc the Celtics!!!!!!!!! Fucc Pierce!!!! Fucc the Kobe haters!!!!!!!!

    • kobe-wan kenobi

      agreed

      • Mamba24Goat

        Amen

  • iamthetie

    that’s a stupid trade

  • kobez

Doesnt make sense. Why would they give up BOTH Odom and Bynum. It would make sense for just Bynum. I dont like Jack as a point guard either. Not a “true point guard”, his passing needs improving

    • skamz

Doesn’t make much sense…basketballwise…financially, I understand the move.

But I agree with most others…this is a lame idea. Pau would be moved to Center…and he’d be great against 90% of the other true centers out there…but Drew brings True Center size and skillz…plus Odom brings versatile size off the bench. I hope this doesn’t happen…

  • LAbassani

    Do It!

    • http://www.jackyang.info Jack Y.

You must have very low IQ.

  • http://nba.com John Robertson

Bynum + Odom for Bosh is not a fair deal…. We need a big body to cover the paint….

  • http://youtube.com/lakersftw2010 RonRonGq

It should just be Bynum and Walton for Bosh

  • Patrick Bateman

Bynum is frequently injured at the wrong time but the last two NBA finals, the Lakers proved to still win with Bynum. If he can stay injured-free then the Lakers pretty much look unstoppable. Odom is our key guy. He is our insurance incase bynum or Gasol is injured, no way we do this trade, even if it was a rumor, it makes no sense for the Lakers.

Bynum’s length, youth, talent, and toughness should be enough to keep him for the remainder of his contract.
    #justsaying

  • Pau Gasoline

‘If it aint broke dont fix it’ are focus needs to be at the guard and pg position.

    Starters/ Bench
    PG: Fisher / Blake
    SG: Kobe/ Bell
    F: Artest/ McGrady
    PF: Gasol / Odom
    C: Bynum/ Shaquille O’Neal ( yes I said it)

    • Jake Gasol

And how exactly would this work? There would need to be trades involved…

      • Pau Gasoline

As we see it Farmar wants out, Brown wants to get paid, Morrison is going fishing, trade Sasha while he is still worth something, Powell and Mbenga are up in the air. The possibilities are endless.

        • Mamba24Goat

Pau is right dude. except the bell part. Ebanks and Tracy can handle those 2 spots. Tmac has also proven he can run point at times too. I also like the Mike Miller Or Grant Hill Idea

  • Patrick Bateman

I wouldnt mind taking back Shaq for one more season.
He knows the triangle and could fill the void left by Mbenga and Powell (if they leave via Free agency)

TMac imo, would want the entire MLE and I wouldnt give it to him.

Raja Bell, I would sign him for half the MLE.

    Keep Brown and Fisher.

  • Jake Gasol

This is a good trade ONLY IF we sign another free agent forward such as a Brad Miller… Otherwise, no…

  • tdoom15

Emotionally, it is tough. I don’t know how you deny those guys a chance at a 3-peat, and on principle alone, I don’t know if I could do that deal if I was Mitch.

That being said, it makes a hell of a lot of sense to trade for Bosh as the NBA landscape could be dramatically changing. Bynum did show something this post season, but we all know the woes LO gives Laker’s fan across the country with his inconsistant play. We NEED another legit scoring option. Artest, Bynum, Odom…and at times Pau, can disappear on the offensive end which leaves Kobe to force up tough shots or someone else taking a bad shot with the shot clock winding down.

Think of it this way, does anyone honestly see Bynum being at the level Chris Bosh is at right now? This is going to be Pau all over again, when Bosh gets a chance to shine, people are going to see just how good he really is…and he is damn good! Odom is almost a waste coming off the bench, he won’t have the kind of impact he did when Bynum was down and doesn’t do well with the shortage of minutes.

I think we all agree we need to address the PG situation, as well as a legit shooting threat from the outside. Here is what I’d like to see.

    Fish, Jack, Crittenton
    Kobe, Sasha
Artest, Matt Barnes (SG or SF), Walton
    Bosh
    Pau

-Jack can easily split time with Fish while Java has a shot to be the PG of the future.
-Matt Barnes can score, defend, shoot the 3, he is a perfect fit. (Raja Bell could also be an option)
-That would obviously leave us some shoring up to do at the PF/C situation. Here is where losing Odom hurts, we have to have a legit back up player/s at this position, guys like what Big Baby does for Boston, or Gortat for Orlando.

I’m going to agree with the writer of the rumor. I certainly do not want to face a Rose/Lebron/Bosh/Noah or Wade/Lebron/Bosh combo in the Finals because I don’t think Bynum and Odom would be up to the task, it would be overwhelming. Taking Bosh out of the equation for any of those teams is just smart business, and this is after all the business of winning.

Mitch has the absolute best job on the planet as far as I’m concerned. I would literally live in a box to do what he does on daily basis.

  • VENGANCE

HELL to the NO! Do you guys know how arrogant chris bosh is? Anyone see the statement he made when he said “I’m a centerpiece, not an addition” Yeah, i kind of supported this drew for bosh swap earlier, until i realized, how soft bosh is. Keep Drew and LO. I know many of us have attacked LO before, but he is a NECESSITY to this team.

    • i heart ZKV

I’d rather have Bosh’s arrogance over Bynum + Odom’s lack of drive and motivation. Maybe some more pride is what we need on this team.

      • skamz

Bynum & Odom’s lack of drive and motivation? Inconsistent maybe…but those two dudes were motivated enough to help win back to backs.

        • Odom the worst player

Bynum helped us , not Odom. Go back and look at his stats, then tell me what contributions he made. Thats like saying morrison was motivated to help us win back to back. Come on were you watching any of the game?

          • great!

odom helped us get throught the season with an injred bynum and bynum helped win the finals ..,but if you want bosh A.K.A the centerpiece then lets bring him to LA so he can replace kobe as the Centerpiece of our team

          • Odom the worst player

Dude just because you love odom doesnt mean this guy can play because he can’t all you do is try and discredit what i say Odumb suppose to be one of the big 3 on this team and he’s not. Don’t be absurd, don’t you dare try compare Odumb to the real king of the nba Kobe. Kobe” is the man. Odumb is aDumb guy who can’t play period. Sorry Odom lover convince yourself , not us who can see through Odumb

          • idiot

Bosh says he wants to be the Centerpiece of a team not an addition you idiot …so you want him to come to LA and be the man the number 1 option right

  • Cody

Yeah lets trade size and power for um……. bosh…….

    • TOUCHING_MYSELF

Hahaha! And let’s not forget… A CHAMPION for A BIG”?”!

I’d rather trade for Josh Smith.

    • gameplan

      Like that for odom!

    • jaydubb415

Please ”i like josh smith”but his basketball IQ is ”0.00”n if you know ”phil jackson”he wants his players 2 have some kind of ”common sense”n josh has none at all.

Why not Bynum & Odom for Dwight Howard?

    • ohBreeeezy

      they ain’t that dumb

    • Pau Gasoline

LoL I guess everyones allowed to have a dream

    • harmony_smurf

Chris Bosh is a better player than Howard! Chris also led the league with the most 20-10 games. I hate to get rid of Odom because he’s our emotional leader, but in pure basketball sense it should be done. What ever happened to packaging Morrison’s expiring contract with Bynum?

  • ICE CREAM MAN

This move is bitter/sweet. If they do, imagine if Shaq comes in for the vet min? Starter – Shaq, Gasol, Bosh, Artest, Kobe. Bench- Benga, Walton, Sasha, Josh, Jarrett. Ya, ya, ya,…I know, but I still think Shaq should come home to retire.

    • KobeBryant197824

too much big men is a headache

  • LAKESHOW420

Bynum and farmar for Bosh anyone?

  • kmac_321

um trade mbenga, powell, and morrison? hello?? lol

  • eddio49

Hello ……………… the guy is a free agent!!
We do not need to give anything back, besides why would we want him.
We need a PG and a good seasoned perimeter shooter to come off the bench and play some D
This would be very, very bad, hope not happening, if it does I’ll become a celtics fan!! just kidding ……

  • Lamar sODOMy

    IceCreamMan your a fucking idiot!

  • Robert

Y’know, sounds like TLN is just posting controversial things to generate huge blogs! It worked! I also got sucked into the “Shaw is head coach of Cavs” blog, when it isn’t certain.
    .
This trade will NOT happen. Recall, that when Bynum was taken out of games, LO was the backup ‘center’. So, if we trade away our ‘true center’, and ‘backup center’ we have … um ….. NO centers.
    .
Pau is NOT a center. He does not ‘function’ well as center, in comparison w/his PF abilities.
    .
We would need 2 centers to replace the 2 we would trade for Bosh. So …. who? Snaq? …. he’s a backup backup bench center by now. So …. who?
    .
    Nobody. Trade NOT gonna happen.

  • Xtro

    Hell no

    • jaydubb415

Earlier in the season when i was frustrated with bynum i considered getting bosh 4 him,but right now i say ”hell no”all that work that ”kareem’s”doing with bynum 2 see another team prosper ”from it”nah,as far as ”odom”goes yea he frustrates me espcially cuzz i’m a ”lefty”2,but that’s ”kobe”left-hand man”everytime ”kobe”hits a game winning shot who’s the first 2 run out n hug him ”odom”

  • Salty

Pau hardly gets any touches in the offense as it is, so why give Bosh a max contract to add 7 to 10 shots a game to an offense that doesn’t need any improving. Keep Bynum for the defensive factor. Defense is after all what won games 6 and 7 and ultimately the championship.

    • lakaluva

Pau gets plenty of touches. It’s his own fault that he’s too soft to take advantage of those touches. Instead, he throws the ball out to Kobe with five seconds left.

  • 6’9

keep bynum and odom sign shaq or brendon haywood to play backup center

  • cqc_NastyN8

If traded bynum for bosh or LO for bosh.. i wouldn’t care..but both for bosh???? NAW

  • cliff

Bosh is leaving no matter what. Toronto should be desperate to move him. We need to low ball them. Bynum and purging the contracts of luke or sasha. There should be no way we’d be taking on jack’s salary and losing lo and bynum.

  • rudy t.

    no, no, no, no.
    no, no, no!!!
we’re giving up WAAAAY too much for chris bosh. i like chris bosh and thinking about him playing in the triangle with a lakers jersey gets me giddy like a hot girl in edible lingerie BUT AGAIN, WE’RE GIVING UP WAY TOO MUCH…

I don’t think all of us ‘really’ have to worry. The Lakers mgmt is pretty smart now (I think they wisened up a bit, even though a few years ago they signed Luke to long term, etc. – it’s different now).
    .
I trust that Kup will make the smart moves this summer, which is to NOT move key players from this year’s championship/team.

  • Odom the worst player

Trade Odumb yes, but not Drew. Please mitch trade Odumb, but be prepared all the odom lovers will hate you even though it will make the team better.

    • chad b

I’ll make this real easy for you. Name one player that we could trade Odom for where we would get a better player.

      • LEADERFISH

If New York were going to lose D.Lee they would trade him for LO.

        • seankobe

I could have noah for odumb! What do we got from odumb? he’s just playing with kobe that is why you think he’s good enough. that is why his name sound LAMER ODUMB co’z it is what it is!

          • Odom the worst player

Amen bro. We could get noah, Rudy gay, warrick, ak-47, and the big dog BOSH. Now don’t tell me rebounds. Mark eaton of the Jazz got rebounds, now you tell me what does Odumb does?

          • Odom the worst player

            Do, sorry

      • Odom the worst player

        Read down low Odumb lover

        • chad b

David Lee for Odom – you have got to be kidding me.
Noah – you talk about rebounds aren’t important.. thats his entire game.
Gay- he is there franchise player? you think you could get him for Odom – get real.
          AK 47 is crap
Bosh well lets see he makes about double Odom’s salary so thats not going to work.
Once again… tell me ONE player that you could trade Odom for.

          • Odom the worst player

Ak 47 is not crap. Odom is crap. I told you players and youre trying to discredit every player we mention just because you love odom. Never said rebounds arent important.

          • great!

yea thats genius lets get david lee, noah hakim warrik and gay to run our triangle offense….plus these guys where able to dominate the stat sheet on bad teams so im sure they will be able to do the same with the Lakers right..wrong

          • Odom the worst player

If Odumb can learn the triangle anyone can.

          • chad b

“odom the worst player” should change your name is “the most clueless Lakers fan”

          • Odom the worst player

Chad b, c, d and dummy you are the one who is clueless. Odom suck stupid. No matter what you say

          • jaydubb415

I was with you on the ”getting rid of odom comments”n i hate saying that because i’m a ”lefty”but when you said ak47 isn’t crap you lost me,AK is crap n the only reason he hasn’t gotten exsposed is becuzz he’s in that system of sloans yea he can dee you up but even thats getting ”suspect”but you take him out of that ”sloan system”he would really get exsposed.Playing in utah with that homefield crowd and a tough-minded coach allows AK 2 play like he does but thats it period!

  • lakaluva

This would be a great move. Do it Mitch!!! Bynum is Luke Walton 2.0, and Odom is always missing in action. Buss is a poker player and he’s sees this the way I do. You ship Bynum and Odom out of the country to a team that has no chance. Then you steal the main piece that Wade and James wants in Bosh, and you get a young very good PG that we’ve been starving for. Let’s do it!!!

  • http://getgasol.com getgasol

This is stupid. Bynum & Odom are two of our most important players. Bosh isn’t worth those two. Hell, I don’t think I would trade either one of them for Bosh straight up.

In this trade scenario we would lose toughness with the loss of Bynum, and make our already weak bench even weaker without Odom.

We got a good squad as is. (two championships in a row not good enough?) If anything, we just need to make a couple of tweaks to our bench. And trading our best bench player (Odom) is not the way to do it.

    • Odom the worst player

Are you smoking something, Odom is so weak, all the does is run left, misses layups, crashes into people, doesn’t try on defense, never shows up in big games, and you talk about how good he is. the guy sucks.

  • lakaluva

You get rid of a lame duck in Odom, and a wounded puppy in Bynum. This is a steal for the Lakers. Go get ya Bosh Jersyes, you bandwagoners.

    • LEADERFISH

why don’t u throw in Artest too right? smh

      • lakaluva

Artest earned his money. Can you say the same for Odom and Bynum. Bynum has actually been the biggest stiff since Kwame. Don’t give me this “Oh, when he’s healthy shit.” Ship His Ass Out!!!

        • LEADERFISH

Yes I can. Take them off the team and we don’t win the championship. Glad u not Mitch.

          • TOUCHING_MYSELF

I agree! Bynum definitely EARNED his $$$ this season! That boy that with such tremendous heart despite of his knee injury! If you didn’t see how important he was in the playoffs (especially in the Finals) then you were probably watching MLS or the WNBA because you definitely weren’t watching our Lakers team!

        • why?

yea ship his ass out becuz when bynum is on the floor all we do is win championships…we need a dominate physical defensive presence like chris bosh in the middle oops i mean gasol in the middle because bosh doesnt want to play center right

  • LEADERFISH

Toronto has no leverage. Trade Odom and Sasha and a couple of number ones for Bosh.

    • lakaluva

I agree they have no leverage, but you give them Bynum, and keep LO.

      • LEADERFISH

You just game them LO, LOL. Some GM you are.

      • http://twitter.com/AceFreshh Freshh

Laka, if I recall you were hoping for Bynum’s presence during the Bos-Series.

        lol.. come on now fam

        • lakaluva

We needed his size against Boston. I knew this, but Bosh is a major upgrade over Bynum. Bynum has limited skills and is injury prone. Since when don’t you trade a scrub for a career all-star?

    • TOUCHING_MYSELF

You’re right, they have NO LEVERAGE! They know they can’t keep that fool anyway, I might be ok with LO and Sasha for Bosh, if for no other reason than the fact that Bosh won’t be teamed with LeBrick and Wade!

      • great!

some of us are acting like they are gaurenteed the trophy if they join together…but they arent…they still wont have an answer for our length bynum will dominate bosh and show you idiots why we shouldnt trade for him

  • kobe_mvp

    :)))
for sasha and luck for bosh go lakers

  • i0ioooooi0i

crazy as this sounds, Lakers should sign Kenyon Martin. Imagine him and Ron Artest hounding dudes on defense. that’d be siiiic

    • TOUCHING_MYSELF

Can’t even keep a straight face to respond to such a ridiculous take! Hahaha!

  • i0ioooooi0i

    probable:
    backup center – brendan haywood
backup power forward – kenyon martin
backup small forward – Devin Ebanks
    backup shooting guard – ???
    backup point guard – ???
    .
oh yea, and most important of all: coach – ?????
bottom line: FORGET BOSH. shore up the BENCH!

  • Sasha4Lvp

lol this trade makes no sense whatsoever! not going to happen. who is dumb enough to start rumors like this?!

  • dclakeshow

Are you people who are talking about “bring in K Mart” 1% serious? You have to look at the mold of our team and realize that he’s not very high in Basketball IQ. Say what u want about Ron (and believe me…I have), but they scouted him, knowing that he had a high Bball IQ and could play in our system. I mean…I know that we’re just having fun with the free agency, bug LET’S NOT…AND SAY THAT WE DID.

As far as AVP.. I’m not a big fan, and don’t like the idea of giving up the ONE big physical guy that we have (AB) and trading him for ANOTHER finesse guy…and I luv Pau…but one is enough.

Worry about strengthening the bench/ role players that r ready to rise to the occasion. .

    • TOUCHING_MYSELF

      Absolutely agree!

  • TOUCHING_MYSELF

THE WORST TRADE EVER! Why in the world would be want 2 PFs? Pau and Bosh plays the same position with similar games, and Pau is way better than Bosh! So, the Lakers would like to get rid of a CHAMPION in a youthful Bynum for an older UNPROVEN Ru Paul of the NBA! (credit to the FAT SNAQ for coming up with that one)

Look at what Bynum did to the GREAT DEFENSIVE TEAM of the Celd!cks with a bad stick! He wasn’t 100% and he averaged less than 20 minutes a game and kept that Leprechaun Team in check!

Bynum played hurt and showed tremendous heart! He’s a CHAMPION and a LAKER! Bosh is nothing but chicken legs and Pau will put him to shame when our Lakers meet up with that SUPPOSED SUPER TEAM in LeBum, Bosh, and Wade!

Pau will take Bosh, Kobe on Wade, Artest on LeBronze, and that leaves BYNUM unchecked! Bynum will KICK @$$ over those fools! Or what? Do they dare put Beasley on Pau? Hahaha, Pau will just shoot over that munchkin all day while Bosh will abuse that lil b!tch in Bosh like he was fresh meet in prison!

DON’T DO IT MITCH! DON’T DO IT BUSS! AND KOBE, I HOPE YOU’RE NOT ON BOARD WITH THIS TRADE! WE’VE GOT A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM THAT NEEDS A LITTLE ADJUSTMENT, BUT NOT AN OVERHAUL AND IF BYNUM GOES, THAT’S DEFINITELY REDUCING OUR HP!

    • Odom the worst player

Good points you make. The only person that needs to be traded is odom. I love Drew, and the rest of the team. We may need to sign a point to help Little Rock, but other than that we’re all set.

    • lakaluva

Listen, son. I’m the Oracle of this joint. Bynum is done in LA. In the famous words of Kobe, “SHIP HIS AZZ OUT!!!”

      • TOUCHING_MYSELF

No! you listen kid, the only thing that you are in this joint is the ORAL! Oracle… please, stop watchin reruns of ‘The Matrix’! Bynum is NOT leavin! And you can take that to the bank!

So, when the dust settles and all the free agents land to wherever they’re gonna land and when Bynum is still on our Lakers… I guess then you’ll be dubbed as “THE FALSE PROPHET” of this joint too right! Hahaha!

  • NBAmazingKB24

okay this has to be a only rumor
giving up a 7 footer and a 6ft11″ that comes off the bench…..
Hmm Does the Lakers not like the luxury of having
3 big men that got us this repeat?
    HELLLLL NO!!!!
Bosh is a great player… dont get me wrong, but we can’t be scared of Bosh joining the top free agency players
We are that good to be scared! F- that trade!
    thats a big NO!
Thank god its only a rumor :)
With this main group as in: Pau, Kobe, Bynum, L.O., and Dfish we can make 3peat happen. Don’t break this team. Forget the rest(Weak bench mobs)! do whatever you want with the others. But not our core player that made repeat happen…

    • NBAmazingKB24

Forgot our RonROn!! He made it happen!

Shannon was given enough playing time to show what he has really got. He hasnt shown what he is capable except his leaping ability. So yeah he can go, i’m sorry but you can take shasha and morrison. Although i still do want to see what Adam can do, but never got the chance to see too much of him.

    • Odom the worst player

Odom is not a core player, put him with the rest of your so called bench mob.

  • Pingback: Trade Rumor: Bynum & Odom for Bosh? | The Lakers Nation | LA lakers

  • seankobe

The only laker that can be replace by bosh is pau, I’m not saying trade pau, but pau and bosh has similar position and they cannot play together, they are both scorer but bosh brings more muscle. So I said NO to this. If lakers want to trade bynum and odom it must be a center, a likes of noah with kirk. We must get rid of odom, signed tmac just for fans illusions.
Most of fans afraid of the fearsome foursome of 2004 w/ karl and payton to happen again, but tmac and some free agent todays are not that old..

  • stucktrader

Outside of Walton… maybe Sasha… There is nobody that can be traded. The 6 roster core: Fish, Kobe, Artest, LO, Pau, Bynum must stay intact. i hope the Lakers can get a bench that includes: Blake (pg), Bell (sg), T-Mac(sf/sg), Korver (sf), and dare i say Shaq or keep DJ (C). That would give us
PGs: Blake/Fish; SGs: Kobe, Bell; SFs: Artest, T-Mac, Korver, Ebank PFs: Pau, L.O.; Cs: Bynum, DJ or Shaq, with likely Brown resigning. That leaves the extra spot for emergency.

      Jermaine?

  • lala

This better be a RUMOR……this should never, ever happen…..!!!

  • ImaLaker

i love this trade alot.. how inconsistant is lamar odom?? very!! bynum had 3 knee surgeries in the past 3 years and thats not a good sign.. and as fans we fall in love with our players and bynum showed alot of heart, but will that get us to win now and when kobe hangs it up? were basically gonna break even in cap room and we can start to rebuild our bench and get some shooters and a big man for cheap.. i love this trade, PULL THE TRIGGER MITCH!!!

    • why

are you gonna love this trade if by sum chance bosh or gasol get hurt in the middle of the season and we dont have that third big to pick up the slack…bottom line is when bynum has played in the finals 2 out of 3 years and mysteriously those where the 2 that we won…all you people focus on is the stats that he puts up and not the defensive presence he is while he is out their ask yourself what wins championships defense or offense then ask yourself who has a better chance gaurding Dwight howard or boxing out perkins bosh or bynum..nobody is gonna be scared of gasol and bosh combo in the paint

      • ImaLaker

well we can all be honest as far as bynum being in the finals and us wiining, i think fisher, kobe, and pau was the reasons for that.. bynum indeed did help.. but he’ll never be 100% in his career all those knee problems are are gonna cost us… stats do come in to play with bosh but not the scoring ability.. its the boards he grabs averaging 12 a game which is impressive… you’re banking this all on if someone gets hurt, how about how bosh can space the floor and allow kobe to work 1 on 1 cuz bosh can hit the 15-20 footer consistently… its all rolling the dice if we keep bynum and he get hurt or isnt the same after all these surgeries, who is the future after kobe retires?? bosh is proven you can build around him… and if bynum can get healthy and stay healthy then we’ll see.. bosh is the better investment… its all a bizness!!!

        • great!

we are trying to win now fuc the future…i could understand if we were in toronto or memphis or cleveland but we are the LA Lakers in the future we will be able to sign any superstar we want…whos gonna turn down an oppurtunity to be a superstar on the best franchise in basketball…as far as the present just like your banking on bynum being hurt you could say the same for gasol or bosh anyone could get hurt its not bynums fault kobe and lamar injured his knees…but lets say they are all healthy you have got to be crazy to take bosh over odom and bynum…i understand the slight improvement on offense but its the Defense that wins Championships.. whats bosh gonna do for us in that department?

          • great!

he averages 12 rpg. but think about it who else in toronto is repounding for them…bynum gasol and odom could easily avg 12 rpg on a poor rebounding team like the raptors but since they all play on the same team you wont see 1 single guy avg 12 rpg …hell gerald wallace avg about 11 rpg on the bobcats and he is a SF

          • ImaLaker

well if bynum can stay healthy of course i wouldnt made this trade but if there was any doubt about druws knees this is the deal to make.. but like i said if bynum is 100% there isnt many big men that are better… its just if hes healthy,,, i would love to see him play at a high level being 100% but as history has shown us thats not likely.. but ima ride with it cuz you made valid points and i agree with everything you said!! good shit!

  • LAKERSALLTHEWAY

I dont like this trade. Well, fact of the matter is.. I believe Bynum’s knee problems wont really go away so we are stuck with that. So basically we need a strong support cast or sub just in case (big man). If only Odom would be more consistent. Hmmmm.

    • Odom the worst player

ODumb is what he is. Sorry and not worth it!

  • rondo

If the trade is made I don’t want to hear any of you fuckin dudes crying when the Lakers get their asses handed to them by the rest of the league. You guys are like a bunch of pigs never satisfied always want more and more and more. Be careful suckers your getting ready to be conned. You know what you got . You don’t know what you getting.

    • LAKERSALLTHEWAY

dont throw your celtic sh*t around here. It’ll be light years before you get back to the finals once again. That’s for sure.

  • say queensbridge

lets face it if we want to three-peat we need to be better than last season, if the stars align and d-wade, bosh, and lebron end up in Chicago we are looking at a tall mountain to climb, and even taller if PJ decides to retire. i say resign fisher for his leadership in the locker room, upgrade the bench were lamar is not the only player contributing, sign someone who can actually make open 3′s, cross fingers PJ comes back, and no disrespect for fisher( MY FAVORITE PLAYER) we need to get a young talented pg to start and take off minutes on fishers 36 year old legs.

  • Roscoe

I hate trading quality lakers for other guys, I like players that have been with us for years. The main reason for this trade though is prevent Wade bosh lebron or rose deng lebron bosh Noah. But I still say don’t do it, not even for bynum straight up

  • REALTALKLA24

WHY DO MARWAN DELETE COMMENTS??? WTF???

    • Marwan Deletes My Comments

      Tell me about it!!!

  • rondo

Bosh will never wear purple and gold.

  • Mamba24Goat

just and Idea. we find ways to dump expensive expiring contracts such as Luke, Sasha, Ammo. and pick up Brendan Haywood (dude plays just like Bynum) pick up either tmac, mike miller or grant hill along with a decent back up point guard like Will Bynum or something. or if we want to add another energetic type defensive player Tyrus Thomas would be a great fit too. 1 of the most athletic dudes in the league blocks shots like a mad man rebounds very well and adds a big man to the fast break with odom off the bench. again just an idea

  • lakaluva

Stop with all these stupid suggestions. Bosh is already a Laker. Bynum lame azz has yet to even have surgery. He went to the World Cup…lol. When he gets back, his new home will be Toronto.

    • great!

can the guy live his life i mean kobe went to the world cup to but nobody is sitting here wishing he was traded becuz he put the surgey on his finger on hold…let the man enjoy his self

  • kb24dbest

I would do this trade and risk it because the health of Andrew Bynum and Lamar’s consistency is questionable. I know that neither Bosh and Gasol are not true centers but atleast we will get consistency from Bosh.
Bynum and Lamar’s trade values are high right now because they just won the championship and if you wait to trade them later, their trade value would go down.
Laker fans, do you want Andrew Bynum or Chris Bosh to be your franchise player after Kobe and Pau are done? To me, Bosh is a more proven and consistent player than Bynum and LO.
How about a sign and trade with Cleveland for Lebron. Bynum and odom for Lebron?

  • kb24dbest

Guys, i really think we need to upgrade our bench. Here are the list of free agent players I would consider on resigning for minimum or mid level exception.

    Kyle Korver
    Mike Miller
    Peja Stojakovic
    Luke Ridnour
    Theo Ratliff
    Steve Blake

    - We need a big point guard who can score and create shots for others and for himself.
    - We need a pure shooter (Sasha won’t do it)
    - We need a big defensive guy

The lakers will have money to sign 3 of these players if they let go of Farmar, Brown, Powell, and Morrison.

    • ronin99

      AGREED!!!

  • seankobe

yes we won 2 rings in 2 years, but other teams rebuilding, we barely beaten by the perkins less celtics in game 7. Bynum scoreless in that game, odom got 8 rebounds, and kobe has 15. yes bynum tried hard, but is that what we need in the finals? what if perkins play that game we might have lost because bynum is not 100%. I don’t like the idea co’z pau n him plays in the same position, and for sure pau will have a problem not touching the ball again co’z bosh will have a share that. i rathered have noah or Dlee noah plays hussel , and that white dlee can rebound, and love this both guys dunking the ball. but use odom for trading but if bynum has to be part of this, it is time for a change. lake show 201.
    pg-fisher/?/?
    sg- kobe/tmac/kirk
    sf-ron/tmac/ebanks
    pf-pau or bosh
c- noah or Dlee or bynum

just to get rid of ODUMB!

    • why

thats stupid like i said their is no gaurentee pau or bosh are gonna be healthy getting lee ,noah and kirk is unrealistic….you can say wat if to alot of things the fact is your what if didnt happen and we are champs with this roster 2times what if bosh is just as thin as gasol and he cant get a rebound over perkins just like odom or gasol couldnt in 2008 then we dont have that big body of bynum to throw against him…panicing over nohing and trying to aquire every big name isnt gonna solve anything

  • tradeODUMB.com

Let’s have this petition, who’s with me?

    • Odom the worst player

      Amen bro

  • why

this only works if we are trying not to win the championship…what happen to if t aint broke dont fix it
its not like we are just the defending champs…we are bac2bac champs….think about this what if we made this deal and bosh or gasol got hurt then what…..you can say bynum is always hurt but injuries could happen to anybody
and if we take bosh we have no insurance behind him

    • lakaluva

Bynum is broke. And Odom is lazy and married…lol. Get rid of those two bums.

      • great!

yea so we can watch gasol and bosh soft a$$es get punked in the paint every nite….lets panic and trade away our whole roster why dont we for a bunch of guys that havent won anything but can stuff the stat sheet lets trade kobe for lebron because lebron can avg a dam triple double and all kobe can do is win rings

  • LAKERBOY55

As intriguing as having a talent like Bosh on the Lakers, I only seeing him replace Odom + others – not Bynum. Bosh will never agree to come off the bench nor will he make a good fit in the starting lineup with Gasol and Bynum.

We just need to make improvements to our bench and with the many possible mentioned FA’s, we shouldn’t have any difficulties repeating.

Putting aside Bynum’s injury, what legitimate center is available to replace him? Even at 60% Bynum has more skill and presence than most centers in the league. Only center I’d consider comparable would be Howard.

So unless we can switch out Odom for Bosh, those other desperate teams can have him and do what ever they want plus the kitchen sink. No matter what at this present moment, the Lakers are destined to 3-peat.

    • great!

Exactly after andrew you cant find another Legitimate center in the NBA today besides dwight and possibly yao …..a 6’10 PF with a 20ppg 10rpg avg. what a commodity its not like their 15 arent of those guys in the nba

      • Mamba24Goat

Kris Kaman and Brooke Lopez are legitimate centers in the league… just sayin

        • LAKERBOY55

Yeah…. Like we talk about them…

So yall would take Kaman or Lopez in a heartbeat? For Bynum?

          • great!

goodpoint maybe lopez….but Kaman the offense is their but not the defensive presence i mean look at the combination of skill, size length and strength bynum has
i mean i kno we are frustrated with the knees but i mean what can andrew do…i mean if kobe and lamar dont fall on his knees next year he will be fine

  • http://myspace.com/taeyongpark Day

I heard Dirk opted out. xD

I still think the one player in the entire league that would drastically change, and put the Lakers over the top is Josh Smith. If we are looking to make a TRADE, as this article is suggesting, I don’t think it should be for Bosh. He adds nothing to the team. I wonder if a Bynum / Sasha for Josh Smith is realistic….:)

    And then, get rights to Ricky Rubio from the T-Wolves since they have like 3 PG’s already. Sign T-Mac and Raja Bell and it would look like;

    Fish / Rubio
    Kobe / Bell
    Artest / T-Mac
    Gasol / LO
    Smith

Sign in another big man, such as Shaq or Haywood and we’d be set. I know Smith isn’t a real Center but he’s strong and I think it could work, or put Pau at the C, either way Smith / Pau would be awesome.

I know it is purely fantasy and has nearly no chance of happening, but I can dream, right?

    • LAKERBOY55

Bynum (and Sasha) for Smith??? Watis you smokin? Hmmm… 7-0 for 6-9, a center for a forward… NO….

Don’t get me wrong… I liked Smith for the Lakers even before they got Gasol but it always and still is if they bump Odom.

Everyone here should realize that our starting lineup is a lock (godwilling Bynum’s knee). It is our bench that is in dire need.

  • The Pauverisor

Don’t like this trade, if anything, it would have to be Bynum for Bosh straight up, and I don’t even like that. We would lose a physical presence in the middle and he’s only 22 years old. I know he’s been injured frequently, but if at some point in his career he’s able to avoid that, the guy is gonna be a major force in this league.

Also, I say don’t trade Odom for the next 3 years while he’s still productive, he may be inconsistent at times, but he’s difficult to match up against, and he’s Bynum insurance just in case Drew goes down again.

No disrespect to Bosh, I’d love to have him, just not at that price.

If Bosh is proposed to be in the starting line-up; it would be a mistake.

I personally think we have been holding on to that “Let’s Hang On To Odom” bit too long. He is consistent in being inconsistent. Yes he may be difficult to match up against – whenever he gets it going and not even to the fullest at that.

We don’t need Bosh… got a better version on Gasol.

  • why

Also let me say this …Bosh has said himself that he doesnt want to play Center and we kno gasol doesnt want to play center…so now we would have to unphysical bigs starting so explain to me why this is such a great trade..so what odom didnt show up…we are not paying him 14mil a year anymore..he was able to step in and help us get to the playoffs when bynum was hurt and he had a couple great games in the playoff as well so as far as im concerned he did his job

  • LAKERBOY55

Doesn’t it bother anyone to say that Odom “did his job”? If you could replace Odom for a more productive one wouldn’t you want to?

I’m just sick of his so-called potential that never came to fruition. Plus it makes me sick to see this guy defend shooters with his hands down.

    • why?

get serious your asking bosh to come to LA be a point forward and a physical center do you think he is going to handle the ball, run the triangle, be unselfish like lamar…do you think he is going to grow 3inches gain 50lbs and battle with opposing centers when he clearly said he doesnt want to play center…im defending them because they are Lakers and im a Laker fan and at the end of the day they accomplished their goal twice..and i am happy with that …i mean every guy on the team helped us bring the title home at some point this season..why cant yall be happy with that and believe in the players that are on the team

      • LAKERBOY55

Don’t get me wrong. I do appreciate what our bench has done and I never supported Bosh in coming to the Lakers but was rhetorically making a point if he did it would be only to replace Lamar.

To your correction, Lamar and Bosh are both 6-10 at 230 and to say he will be selfish and not fit the triangle are the same things naysayers said about Artest.

But not saying I want Chris Bosh, I have already stated that we have a better version in Gasol.

There is nothing wrong with looking to improve your team and it is the bench that needs it.

But I will mention that I always wanted to oust Odom even before we got Gasol. Josh Smith was a F.A. at that time and I did wish the F.O. have pulled that trigger.

        See for yourself:

        • great!

what i ment by him grownig and gaining wait is that he has as well as running the triangle is that he would have to take on the roll of both bynum and odom even though he may be the better player i just feel that lamar and bynum are better fits for the team and we will be losing quality depth and versitility…as far as Bosh being selfish i dont think he is either even though he stated that he feels should be the center piece of a team but… i dont feel that he is as unselfish as lamar i really believe that lamar rather see others happy and doing well and the team win then himself being the star…and i dont feel we should mess up the chemistry of our team

          • great!

Dont get me wrong either i do understand your frustration with lamars inconsistency and the numerous bonehead plays he has made over the years but i feel that the combination of skills and intangibles that he brings to the lakers cant easily be replaced…forget about the potential unfortunantly he will never be what we all hoped but he is still a key piece.

  • Leikers!

I say we play Mbenga more he is the future of the Lakers!

A statistic that NOBODY sees and NOBODY talks about is the ‘length’ factor. It doesn’t actually appear in countable statistics, but what it does do is forth ‘other plays’.
    .
How many times have we heard ‘teams have problems with the Lakers’ length’. So, both Bynum and Odom have ‘length’ (read: big wingspan). What it does, is forces players to ‘pass the ball’, alter the shot, alter the play. That does not appear in any statistic.
    .
Remember that the Lakers won as a TEAM. So every player was key to the victory, even if ALL they did is spread out their arms, and disrupt plays. Imagine all the primary Lakers all surrounding the paint, spreading their arms – nobody can get through that without problems.
    .
We need the length, and so we need Odom and Bynum. We also need better ‘role players’, because the core operates more or less efficiently. The ‘core’ mostly won the Playoffs, NOT the bench. Phil played the core a LOT (which is why they are tired). So, the Lakers need to have role players to take pressure off the core, and then the Lakers will ‘tighten up’. You’ll even see Odom fit in better with a better bench.
    .
BOTTOM LINE: DON’T MESS WITH TEAM CHEMISTRY – that wins championships, NOT individual players.

  • Robert

(Robert the hypocrite): what I WOULD do, is trade Odom and Bynum for Melo. That would step up the Lakers a bit; yes, we would be missing our centers, but Melo would work great w/Kobe, and the Lakers would become an offensive juggernaut.
    .
But, still, we do know that D wins Championships, so maybe it wouldn’t work. I’ll become the ‘un-hypocrite’, and say ‘don’t mess with what works’.
    .
BTW, the Thuggets want to trade Melo, since they don’t want to lose him to free agency next summer. It would actually be a tempting situation.

  • T-dub

Bynum is used goods. He will never be healthy. Get rid of him while you can. Every keeps talking about his size and potential. None that matters if he’s not on the floor. They’ve already proven twice that they can win rings without him. Odom will never give you anything more than he has for 10 years! Odom/Bynum for Bosh sounds like a steal to me. Gasol will play center just as he’s done the last 2 years on the way to a championship.

    • LAKERBOY55

Ridding of Bynum and Odom just shorts our defensive presence the Lakers are known for.

    • great!

we havent won anything without bynum he is really a key reason they are bac2bac champs stop looking at the stats and watch the game he takes so much pressure off of gasol when he is in the game. gasol can play the 4 and be matched up with garnett instead of perkins in 09 gasol wasnt the man that had to deal with dwights rampage bynum was he deserves just as much credit for the championships then any other laker other then KB

I say we trade bynum for david lee. our starting 5 is fish, kobe, ron, pau, and lee. and we keep LO.

  • Amare

    TRADE RUMORS:
BYNUM & LUKE for Amare Stoudemire & Jared Dudley

  • Amare
  • iiTzDanny

if this is going to happen then its one or the other along with farmar. because both is a terrible trade

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

  • LakerLand_Nostradamus

Not sure bringing Bosh is the answer. We need to get rid of scrubs like Sasha, Puke and Farmar. Morison is gone.
Bring a good pg and add veterans shooters that can play D and we will be fine.
I just don’t buy this idea that suddenly wherever LBJ lands will make that team an instant contender.
Lakers is a very good team and just needs few tweaks here and there. I would love to have Ariza back though. No disrespect to Artest, he is the man.

  • 3peat

trade LO and Farmar and throw in some draft picks for Bosh.

  • http://lexworld lexexworl

Trade Bynum for Bosh strate up yah sure, but including Odom HELL no!!!………..all we need to do really is get TMAC and we will be strate

C’mon guys im surprise this has 200+ comments. This is just a ploy to get more hits on the blog and it’s obviously working. The author of the article was just speculating and coming up with possible scenarios. Do you really think Buss is about to trade away pieces of his main core away for chris bosh? This isnt a knock on bosh but c’mon, if this doesnt work it could reaally look bad for the organization. IT’S NOT HAPPENING!

  • BUMKNEE

i totally agree, i would like to see j crit, raja bell, maybe t mac, and a young back up center coming off the bench. Keep Lamar, remember people he is coming off the bench and is key where people dont see. Bynum made me put my foot in my mouth and DESERVES to stay in LA. bosh i dont know. it sounds nice but not like this.

  • LAKERSALLTHEWAY

Get rid of Sasha and Luke first. Resign Phil and Fisher.

  • TheLakerGenera11

Been a while since I’ve commented on this gr8t site…so i’ll just say HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NOOOOOOOOOOO like the majority of the enlighten lakernation fans I agree that this is a bogus trade granted bynum is always hurt but he was and is taught by the Captin! he’s taught fundamental big man skills keep the ball high…bosh is a P##$y n am i the only 1 that see’s through his publicity stunts..tweeting im leaving then sayin im staying, reporting he wade n lebron would b perfect, then sayin im not a 3rd wheel, i want to be the star..i cant stand this clown. u cant easly rplc bynum frame he aint a chump if we hve bosh n gasol ppl will think LA is soft again.

  • http://twitter.com/rodneysuccess Rodney Pickett

I really dont know about this trade but honestley this trade would def make L.A. a weaker bench,, but it would’nt be bad if we could trade bynum&Brown&a pick for Bosh, but I would’nt do it unless I can def get some other Versitle forward on the bench like LO, Last stand lets bring back the 3peet………………………………..

  • ^ ^

Hmmm… good trade because bynum is alway hurt and Odom doesn’t play with heart. They are SO inconsistent. We need Bosh to play Dirk and Ducan in the Western Conference.

I bet anyone that bynum will be hurt again next season and Odom is still the same way. He plays when he wants to. Odom is such a BABY!!! A fucking jerk and plays like one! Please trade them. We can win without them. It’s proven in the 2010 nba finals. They weren’t affective at ALL!

  • Altitoq

Kobe was recently quoted as saying that he was “proud” of Bynum. Is he still proud
