If he does come back and looks good still lakers better get him. Lakers need a player like him badly and they have that DPE from cousins injury. No reason he should not get picked up.

Anyone know if its the Lakers or Clippers who can offer more money?

Right now, both can only offer the vet's minmum. The Lakers' disabled player exception for the DeMarcus Cousins injury is below the vet's minimum for a 10+ year veteran. The DPE isn't prorated though, while the vet's minimum is. So, the Lakers can offer more money later. The deadline for the Lakers to use it is on March 10. The value of the vet's minimum for Collison drops below $500k around that time, while the DPE is still $1.75 million.

The article was written before the Lakers officially got the DPE, but they did get it.

So does this dpe mean no cousins even for the playoffs?

No the exception is just for losing the player for at least most of the season. He could still play.

Im not positive on this but I believe there are some money reasons to why waiting to after the deadline makes sense. More on collisons side I think.

Lakers are also willing to listen to offers for Kuzma.  Good idea but I think we could have gotten more for him earlier in the season.
