Melo wouldn't be allowed to sniff important minutes on this team, especially when Rondo and Ingram get back.  The garbage time should be used to get minutes for Svi and Wagner to see if they can play, so I just don't see a situation where it would work out.

I don't think that's fair.  Fans wouldn't want Melo to play over Hart, Kuzma, Ingram or Ball but I know noone who would get too upset about Melo sharing minutes with Lance, KCP and Beasley.

If people are upset with Melo playing over Mo, Bonga and Svi, that's just pure hate.

Let me be clear:  I'm OPPOSED to signing Melo.  If we did sign him, though, it wouldn't bother me, especially if LeBron wanted to sign him.  Loyalty isn't a bad trait and signing Melo would be enough.  I seriously doubt LeBron would campaign for Melo starting.

Fair enough. Let me rephrase. I don’t think he brings ANY value and wouldn’t play a single meaningful minute, simply because the Lakers have better options when healthy. So if we are talking about a garbage time player, I’d rather give the time to someone developing who could actually contribute (svi allegedly can shoot and actually did last night) than give them to melo.

Melo and Wade are washed. Wade is done after this season with the Heat. Idk maybe Melo should go back to Denver lol. Millsap just broke his toe.

LOL...so true.  I can see certain matchups that would benefit our team having a guy like Melo come off the bench but Melo doesn't want to come off the bench and can be a tad bit high maintenance...otherwise, Melo's game could have aged better and some team would definitely take a chance on him.

I don't want Melo but if we sign him, I don't think it hurts us...sideshow at best (and worst).

Appearantly this will get real serious at a time..

Magic said that if they have a free roster spot they could use it on him..

I think Beasley is a good scorer off the bench who has less ego issues.

I don't see Melo starting and I don't see Melo wanting to come off the bench.

Doesn't make sense to me.

I think I would prefer Melo over Beasley IF he embraces the bench...

If anyone can control Melo it would be Bron...

It didnt make sense to me either but now Ive changed my stance, how bad can he be? How much worse will he make things? I think IF he embraces the bench it could be a low risk high reward gamble.

Not really.  Beasley is still physically capable of playing NBA ball.  I honestly dont think some fans realize how much Melo has fallen off.

He's a 35 year old man.  Bron aint controlling [expletive] he does.  That's not how basketball works.  They are also friends, so he's less likely to be able to influence him the way fans want.  Melo is about as bad as Kobe was in his final season at this point.  Maybe worse.

Im not really a Melo guy, never was but I don't think it would hurt as long as he's coming off the bench... perhaps he's as bad as you say.

He came off the bench for Houston on a team that only required him to hit open 3s.  Couldn't do that.  Beasley can atleast make a cross court pass and finish at the rim.  Bench or not he's legit bad.

Not worried about putting Melo on a Leash.  I'm worried that if he's leashed, he's useless.  Melo has never been a good player if he wasn't the #1 option.  We're asking him to come off the bench and like it!

Could it work out?  Sure...is that likely?  Not even close.

Beasley is a known and he doesn't hurt the chemistry.  Pass on Melo.
