Next 10 games:

@ Jazz
vs Cavs
Vs bulls
@ OKC
@ Rockets
vs Warriors
vs Timberwolves
vs Suns
vs Sixers
@ Clippers

Then its 1st of February.. it all depends on Bron coming back. if hes back by vs cavs. Then i say we can go 6-8 wins but if not.. its either 3-6 games we could win.

The Lakers can win any game with LeBron. They literally smashed the best team in the league with him playing half the game. The team without LeBron and Rondo but everyone else is not a great team but is very capable of winning games on a short term basis.

I've got it 5-5 at least!n Lets go on a ten game run we've got two already.

Tied with the Jazz for 8th in the west now. Jazz and Kings have moderately tough games tomorrow. Could be on the outside looking in tomorrow.

Can't explain losses to the Knicks and Cavs in the last week and a half.

No Bron and no Rondo. No vet that can lead these youngsters...

Why do y'all think nba teams should lose?
Cavs and Knicks have beat other teams than us for sure, right?

Calm down. This team a doesn't have closing or intimidating talent

You just love being a contrarian, honestly.

Loss is inexcusable. Who’s the Cavs vet leader and intimidating talent? Team lost 12 in a row and the last 4 teams dropped 141, 140, 133, 125 on their head. Lakers with what? 90? Not sure, didn’t waste my team finishing this game out when it was clear guys weren’t trying thru 3 quarters. Can’t lose like that.

Can live with losses as long as the effort is there and the coaching staff shows they’re learning from their weaknesses. Instead we hear the same BS from talking heads and posters like you: Lakers are injured. Lakers need to make open 3’s, they’ll fall eventually. Lakers missing their leaders.

Pretty pathetic loss. Team isn’t really competing right now, not sure how you can downplay this as a fan if you’re actually watching the games and taking in what’s going on.

Yeah, the Lakers played bad. They haven't learned how to win or bring a high level of smart energy consistently. Typical of young teams. They're a streaky shooting team that lets poor shooting get them down. They forget or don't trust what they've been coached to do, coach still searching, etc... But what does it matter if fans excuse them or not? It is what it is. The Cavs also lack strong, experienced leadership, but they're another NBA team, and any team right now can beat L.A. when the Lakers aren't playing well. OTOH, Dallas and Detroit caught the Lakers on the wrong day.

LeBron brings the stability needed that takes them from a lottery team to a probable playoff team. Unless something major changes, this season is mainly to grow for better things next season. So it's apparent, there's much work to do.

They beat Detroit right? They competed with a very good OKC team. They beat a super competitive and well coached Maverick squad.

Last night was a bad loss but a Kobe team loss to the Bron less Cavs in 2012... It happens

Kobe oversaw plenty of terrible Lakers squads, not surprising at all. The cavs are a professional basketball team that will win 15-22 games this season. Sucks that it had to be against the Lakers.

This is actually the worse part about this loss.

Fans, coaches brushing it off, “it’s happened before,” “LeBron will be back soon.”

Nah, lol.

This loss probably has no value considering Luke was preaching the same stuff after the game: if we make some free throws and 3’s we probably win. There are serious issues with the offense. When the worst defense in the league comes to town and clamps you up, it’s time to self-evaluate. The offense last night was unwatchable for 3 quarters and it’ll probably be that way all season. We can say we’re missing LeBron, but the Ortg is dead last without him and wasn’t that great with him. Truth is, he was masking some big time deficiencies within this staff and team.

The rest of the Lakers' schedule:

Bulls
@Thunder
@Rockets
Warriors
Wolves
Suns
76ers
@Clippers
@Warriors
@Pacers
@Celtics
@76ers
@Hawks
Rockets
@Pelicans
@Grizzlies
Pelicans
Bucks
@Suns
Clippers
Nuggets
Celtics
@Bulls
@Raptors
@Pistons
@Knicks
@Bucks

Nets

Kings

Wizards

@Jazz

Hornets

@Pelicans

@Thunder

Warriors

@Clippers

Jazz

Trail Blazers

As of this moment, the Lakers are a half game behind the Jazz for the 8th seed.

It's hard to tell because I'm usually negative, but I've crossed over from being worried that the Lakers might miss the playoffs to outright picking that. I think that's the most likely outcome for the Lakers.

LeBron is still great. But, that schedule looks really tough. I think LeBron has to return soon for the Lakers to have any chance at all. Even then, the Lakers are going to have to win a lot of games against really good teams.

New story: LeBron James will not accompany the Lakers in their upcoming two-game road trip as he continues to rehab his groin injury, Rich Paul tells ESPN

With no return in sight, I think the Lakers are done.

No return in sight? He’s questionable for Monday. Relax. This 3-game stretch is hardly winnable even with LeBron.

OKC is slumping and just lost to the Hawks. Rockets lost Capela for 6 weeks. Pay attention to other teams. The Lakers aren’t the only ones going through [expletive], lol.

That is what I’ve been saying. People on here just assume that the other teams win 100 percent of their games. The Lakers were 4 games from being out of the playoffs completely (2 games from first) when LeBron went down, the west is tight af. They have been absolute trash and are still in the playoffs. Teams are gonna just trade wins and losses, and that is exactly what is happening. If they are in striking distance (which they will be) with LeBron they will be fine. That doesn’t address the obvious issues with this team, but LeBron is just plain old good enough to carry them into the playoffs. The good news is the obvious issues with this team can be easily addressed in the off-season by signing a max player. Team is great defensively and they really need another scorer. They are in a good position this year and an amazing position going forward.

The Lakers' free-fall started before losing LeBron. They've been consistently losing to mediocre to bad teams for awhile. They were 2-4 leading up to the GSW game, losing to the likes of Washington, Brooklyn, and Memphis(at home). And, we know how sorry they've looked without LeBron.

Yes, teams aren't going to win every game against mediocre to bad competition. But, they're not winning enough of those games.

Damn Thunder/Rockets/Warriors. By the time LeBron comes back we'll be 24-24...
