Didn't make a thread on him earlier because figured he would just be a draft and stash but turns out he will be on the lakers and they have been scouting him for a long time.

The Lakers obviously couldn't negotiate with Isaac Bonga until the trade was official. As I understand it, they intend to sign him (instead of stash overseas) but that's not something they could get to discussing til now

Jonathan Givony Retweeted Los Angeles Lakers

Lakers were obviously super high on Bonga. They shut him down VERY early in the process after bringing him in for a workout, and traded Chicago's 2019 2nd rounder to make sure they got him (also had #47). Bonga didn't work out for any other team, and didn't send out his medicals.

I’m assuming he’ll have a press conference since he is being touted as an intriguing prospect.

But will he have his own or share the publicity amongst the free agents signed?

I just want to know when.

I like to dip my feet in toilet water & smell them.

Wish there was a way now that lakers could bring back Mbenga

Mbenga & Bonga

Excited for  1. Lebron! (Still love me some Kobe, but damn this guy is amazing) 2. Another big get (Whether in FA or in a trade we need some attractions and closers) 3. Young Guys making big jump (Assuming we have anyone left after more necessary moves either genius ones or in desperation)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

One thing we can agree on is the Lakers have GREAT scouts.  If they are this high on him, I'm sold.  Their recent track record is pretty good, no?  Just give him a chance.  If he sucks, I'll be right there with you with 2 bags of tomatoes!

Could still be growing...

If these rookies can be nba players lets say Wagner is this year's Kuzma in some respect. A top 5ish rookie campaign and the other kid can be a notable rookie like Josh Hart and Issac simply looks like he can belong with flashes of young Shaun Livingston... it adds to the potential trade pieces.

We need these guys and Zubac to look appealing... might sneak up on an All Star

I liked Kuzma coming out...I didn't think he'd drop that far.  His stock was kinda all over the place.

If the Lakers like Bonga, I'm sure there are a lot of other teams that are kicking themselves for not taking him...

I think most had him going early to mid 2nd round. Didnt think we would draft him based on having Julius and Nance. But you have to give them credit for realizing that Kuz's mediocre college numbers and play was a fluke.

Bonga seems like solid 2nd round gamble.

I have Lakers paying Isaac Bonga $1 mil for 2018-19, $1.4 mil for 2019-20 - both guaranteed. Third year isn't fully guaranteed at $1.7 mil (TBD) - considering how the Lakers are hoarding cap space, this tells you how much they value Bonga @BBallInsiders
