My lasting impression of Rondo came in locker room scrum after Anthony Davis had 53 vs. Suns:

Me: You’ve played with & against a lot of great players in your career. Can you put into perspective what A.D. is doing right now?

Rondo: Whatcha want me to do? Suck him off?

Me: Uh.

LeBron said he always preferred playing with high IQ players. I think Ball can also learn some things from Rondo.

Q: When you take off your jersey for the final time, what will you leave behind on the court?
A: "My heart and soul." --Kobe Bryant

Ball played very good defense for a good portion of the year. Had some slips

What rondo needs to teach ball is how to run a pick and roll correctly

He played good defense for a rookie, sure. But Rondo can teach him how to become elite.

Ball is a top 10 defender at his position.

Ball played good defense for an NBA player, not just a rookie. He will make several all-defensive teams in his career, and would’ve been in the running for 2nd team had he been on the court more. Rondo in his ear is an added bonus.

People still think that Lonzo's a bad defender 🤦🏼‍♂️ Not bad, not averege, he's good to very good with the potencial to become great.

Amongst point guards Lonzo was:

7th in steals

3rd in blocks

3rd in rebounds

3rd in DRPM.

love the rondo signing. a guy who can improv in a free flowing offense, a basketball savant who is always in the film room, and a great teammate who is known for being good to the young guys.

Ball played above average defense, for sure. But Rondo can take him to an ELITE level perimeter defensive player, that's what I'm saying.

Defensive advanced stats suck for this sort of thing, btw. They have Pau Gasol ranked as a better rim protector than Embiid.

Boston Rondo - Hated/loved him

Dallas Rondo - Didnt care

Chicago Rondo - Loved him

Pels Rondo - Loved

Laker Rondo - Expect to love...yet be frustrated (which is honestly a lot better than most of the other lakers these last 6 years)

Note: I may be missing 1 or 2 Rondos

Excited for  1. Lebron! (Still love me some Kobe, but damn this guy is amazing) 2. Another big get (Whether in FA or in a trade we need some attractions and closers) 3. Young Guys making big jump (Assuming we have anyone left after more necessary moves either genius ones or in desperation)

READY FOR SEASON!!!
