We can feel fine pinning our hopes on one of the greatest players of all time who has consistently added moves to his arsenal every season, never really been injured, and has been to the finals almost every year for the past decade, a couple times with some really sorry teams, and also happens to be playing above his absolutely ridiculous career average this late in his career, with a lower usage rate.  The aging legend take 4 games into the season was an all timer.

LeBron is playing just fine.  I don't think we have to worry about a massive drop off this year or even the next.

I hope we are preparing for the future though.  I was hoping we'd trade for a guy that could take over for LeBron.  Gives us a lot more flexibility over Free Agency which is limited and we have minimal control.

Side note. If Kobe had LeBron's health and didn't have to differ to Shaq I'd say hed be cemented as second greatest in scoring and come close to being number one

Arguably? By who? He is with zero doubt the best player in the league and the gap is huge.

Who still believes this?

The average fan really believes Lebron is a team player and that other great players want to play with him. However, it couldn't be further from the truth. That guy does not develop and improve teammates contrary to popular media narrative. He's a ball dominant player that does not run a real system. Instead he runs the "LeBron James" system. A ball dominant method that affords him the stats and shine and marginalizes the surrounding talent. Guys are all stars before they join him, and bums by the end of his tenure. He suffocates any growth, he plays just like Westbrook, he's just way more talented and as a result he is able to get good results. He's like a super nova, he explodes, but turns all the planets in orbit around him into dwarf stars. We just blew up the chemistry and culture we were cultivating for a win now approach. Magic caved to the public and media. Bad signing. Mark my words.

Lebron will pass Kobe in points next season (most likely), he's only 1600 behind.

He will also pass him in every other quantifiable individual statistic. Kobe will likely always have more rings and will certainly have a better finals winning percentage, but if that is what we are measuring then Bill Russell is the GOAT and let’s be real, with his height and skill set wouldn’t sniff the floor in the NCAA. Granted LeBron has played mostly injury free, but he is also far more efficient a player than Kobe, also that isn’t really saying much Kobe is a lot of things, super efficient isn’t one of them. Still when he was on I have him above modern Harden in unstoppable offensively, then again, LeBron is also. Kobe will never not infiltrate every thread on this board.

Including championships, yes, after we acquire AD plus other pieces.  I would love to see a Kyrie reunion, win multiples, etc...  I feel that King James is not on the decline as some people seem to think.  In fact, the silver lining to missing the playoffs is that Bron gets some rest, comes back fresh next season.

He's played deep into the postseason almost every year for how many years in a row?  Compare to Bryant who had the luxury of tanking.

You could substitute "Kobe Bryant" in that quote for LeBron and it would be true.

Only decline is the injury length. Other than that he is the usual LeBron.

I read something about Bron perhaps not being in his ideal playing shape... if true, this could have hurt us and prolonged his injury. The good life of LA caught up...
