There was a lot of turnout for the first version of this poll which I have created 3 months ago. Season ended, Paul George got bounced in 1st round. Lebron swept the #1 seed in 2nd round. Kawhi-to-LA rumors are heating up. It would be interesting to see if people's opinions have changed since then.

The votes are public. The more votes come in, the healthier spread we can achieve. So please try to vote all questions.

This will be entertaining. I will say this while I think of cool response. Food for thought on the trade for a star

The precedent for star-player trades is....

Paul George :: Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis
Kyrie Irving :: Brooklyn, Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic
Kevin Love :: #1, Thaddeus Young, Anthony Bennett
Jimmy Butler, #16 :: #7, Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn
DeMarcus Cousins :: #10, Buddy Hield

So, the Lakers shouldn't have to cough up too much imo.

I have a hard time believing all of these guys will be who we wish for them to be.. the minutes for them to grow won’t be there if we gain an all star or two. Honestly I wouldn’t be sad to see Ingram go. Ball George kuzma James lopez/randle?

I hope...

LA manage to get Lebron and George to join the team.

We can get out of Deng's contract without giving up too much - maybe 2019 1st and 2019 Chicago 2nd and Zubac.

We get to re-sign Randle.

We can re-sign Lopez using the room exception (and then pay him later).

And i hope that Lebron doesn't push the Lakers to trade for a star and if he does, then at least not give up more than ONE of our young core.

Would you do this deal if you were GM on other side??????

Excited for  1. Lebron! (Still love me some Kobe, but damn this guy is amazing) 2. Another big get (Whether in FA or in a trade we need some attractions and closers) 3. Young Guys making big jump (Assuming we have anyone left after more necessary moves either genius ones or in desperation)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

I think the biggest issue with moving Deng is the disconnect ppl have between being a fan and being an owner. Chicago I think is totally out of the question. Atlanta could work in theory...I'm sure their fans know they are going to be bad and wouldn't mind some extra picks. But even if you account for a 5 mil kicker that's still 32 mil of dead money for Atlanta ownership to eat. Don't think it's worth it for some very non premium picks.

I think the best we'll be able to do is trade Deng and picks for an expiring. But that doesn't help us clear up money for this summer anyway so at that point might as well just keep him.

First of all, i said this was what i was hoping for - not what i was expecting.

That said, If you're a rebuilding team that can absorb salary, then a first rounder and a high second rounder isn't that bad given the value of draft picks these days. Take Chicago for instance: they just started their rebuild and probably wont be in the mix for any major FAs until 2020 at which point Chicago native, Anthony Davis, becomes available. The obvious play for Chicago is to set the table for AD to join as a FA AND aquire assets - such as draft picks - that can be used in a potential trade for AD. Ideally they roll into the offseason in 2020 with Dunn, Lavine, Markannen, Michael Porter (?) and two first rounders in 2019.

If we didn't have a chance to sign 2 max players this year, ok.  We do so patience doesn't make sense.  Trade Deng as long as the price isn't too high.  If someone wants Kuzma to take Deng, BYE.  Moving Deng means we have enough to sign LeBron, PG13 AND Randle this offseason.
