I think that's the rule. And if it is the rule teams should take note. Imagine if that was the final possession of game 7 of the NBA Finals. Just have your guy blow the horn early. Jump up it and don't give the other team a chance to beat you.

Guys, stop f'ing the refs. That is the rule. If they review a call like that, there is only two choices: say there is no violation or a jump-ball.

Refs costed us at least 5 wins this year. They owe us at least 4 more.

Because honestly... if Adam Silver ever wonders why the league is losing money, that's why. People pay good money to come watch these athletes play, and they try to take over the [expletive]ing game.

Inb4 NBA releases a statement for "bad call"

Idiots. How do you make up for that? How is that any different than if it was the last game to decide the playoff order? The video assistance is there for something.

Magic should sue the referee trio in this game.

We wanna win but, fair is fair and that was bull [expletive].
These refs need to get their [expletive] together because today it’s the magic tomorrow it’s you.

Awful by the refs. The clock was started too soon so the play never really started. Just restart the clock and go. I can't see how thats the rule. Glad we got the W though.

That can't be a rule. They stop the game and re-work the clock all the time and give full possession to teams.

They always restart it in other situations when the clock starts early and it baffles me that they cant do it in a critical game, if thats the rule then its a stupid rule

which 5 games the refs cost us to lose?

Portland at home when Lillard made the buzzer beater , Warrios twice one at home when we lost in ot, that flagrant foul on Ingram in regular time would give us the win, the other one we went into ot it was bull[expletive] calls all game, In New York the refs cost us the game calling stupid fouls against us non stop and there is even more games i don't recall now.

I believe it's because the clock started after the ball was in-bounded but before it was touched. Neither team gained possession so it's a jump.

If the clock started before it was released from the in-bounder's hands they would have done it over.

If Orlando grabbed the ball they would have been given possession, or if the Lakers did, they would be given possession. Instead, the ball was slapped.

The rule clearly wasn't written with this situation in mind. They need to change it as quickly as possible.
