Sources: Lakers and forward Corey Brewer have agreed to a contract buyout, allowing Brewer to sign with a playoff team as a free agent.

I remember when we got him in the Lou trade he was one of the worst players in the league statistically who was actually getting minutes. Plenty of scrubs who don't get any playing time lol. But I gotta say there was something about him I liked. Just a ball of energy. Sometimes he'd ignite a mini run then make back to back bonehead plays and instead of getting mad I'd be like well that's Corey Brewer for you haha. Definitely not going to miss him as a player tho.

High energy role player that did what he could.  Good luck to him.

He's fallen out of the rotation, the Lakers let him go so he could go play with a playoff team.

The only thing that I don't like about the move is that it weakens our perimeter D a little bit.

A funny tidbit about Brewer, he has essentially the same dimensions as Ingram....another long beanpole defender we could have thrown at teams when we needed a spark.

Let's do the same with Thomas and Frye.

Likely asked to be bought out to get on a playoff roster.  He's an energy guy and a lot of teams need wing depth.  OKC and Minny probably being at the top of that list.

Why?

None of them will be apart of our long term plans. Let them sign with playoff teams. Let the young guys develop. We don't need a 34 year old Channing Frye doing much of anything.
