He said in an interview that the Cavs do not have practice so he had to get his rhythm, conditioning and timing back in real games... is this true about the Cavs?

Yea apparently they don't do practices mid season. I'm sure they require workouts and what not but not actually team practice. To me thats just crazy.

Phil would skip having practices during the season on back to backs and long road trips but I don't think we ever went without practicing at all during the season.

I know they say Phil and his Lakers teams never practiced defense...

Prior to the trade, the Cavs were the oldest team on average in the league. Skipping out on practices sounds like something an old ass, battle worn team would do.

IT could decide our season. The way he effortlessly scored last game is preview of what's to come.

If IT finds his form he could be the spark we need to make a fun entertaining push.

Gives IT a lot of time to acclimate to the offense, his new coach and his new teammates.

Any chance we keep IT beyond this season?

If LBJ joins LA he's gone, of course, but if we were to add George and either Boogie or DeAndre it may not be a bad idea to keep him around. His bird rights of only 11.8M makes it quite easy.

The problem is what he wants vs what we will be willing to offer.  I seriously doubt those 2 numbers are even CLOSE.

I know. Not sure where else is going to find a deal. It probably depends on the guys we manage to add.

If we add George and either DJ or Boogie - and spent most of the cap doing so - it wouldn't matter too much if we overpaid a little bit for IT.

Exactly. I wouldn't give him a big contract, and we all know he will be asking for one.

There are many scenarios where i could see IT as a Laker going forward.

1. We sign TWO max guys and re-sign IT using his Bird Rights. If it’s LBJ and PG it wont happen, but if its PG and either Boogie or DeAndre, it could make some sense to keep IT. With Ingram being a RFA in 2020 i think it would be important to keep IT on a more lucrative 2-yr deal, rather than a 3-4yr deal. The salary wouldn’t matter too much. Wouldn’t be able to keep Randle though. Maybe Lopez.

Lonzo, IT, Hart, Ingram, George, Kuzma, Boogie, Lopez.

2. We sign ONE max guy and spend the rest of the salary on a cost effective roleplayers. 2018 really REALLY is a buyers market and if we only can get ONE max guy it may be a better idea to spend on a few high-end roleplayers rather than wait for the star to join. If we signed George, we could probably keep Randle, IT and Lopez as well as add a guy like Avery Bradley.

Lonzo, IT, Bradley, Hart, Ingram, George, Kuzma, Randle, Lopez.

3. We sign ONE (or NONE) max guy(s) and re-sign IT on a lucrative 1-yr deal, which allow us to chase someone in 2019.

If we strike out or get ONE max, but decide to kick the can down the road to 2019 we could just overpay IT for one season.

Well, i've followed him since he came into the league and he's always been good but he really took off when he came to Boston. Last season he had one of the most impressive offensive seasons ever. He probably wont reach that again, but if he can get to 85% of that or perhaps match any of his earlier seasons i think he's worth taking a look at as a long term option.

I too have followed IT since his early days the difference is he's coming off a significant injury and I haven't seen enough to pay him big money.

BTW Im an IT fan.

Fight with Rondo over that stupid appreciation video that never happened.

Pierce should be ashamed for being so petulant.

IT needs to understand he's not an all-star anymore, his days in Boston are gone. Come from the bench and produce in some way, and don't play like you're in the best version of yourself because you definetely aren't. I really miss Lonzo :( and I'm starting to worry about the effect that IT has on the team, on both ends. JC was a ball hog, but at least he could get buckets. If the little guy can't score, he's not good to us at all, he just doesn't have much more to offer.
