There's that, and there's the reality that they didn't already didn't make deals they could have made last off-season to strengthen the roster.  AND they traded away Kyrie without giving Lebron a chance to try and work on the relationship.

Exactly what promises are both sides going to make to each other now - that are going to make both sides confident that they should do whatever it takes to appease each other this summer?

I don't see it.

Cavs did a lot at the trade deadline; but ultimately, they got a bunch of spare parts.

I think their big chance was last summer, and they didn't execute for fear that Lebron was leaving (because he wouldn't commit to them).

Why is he going to give them assurances now?

AAH this is so stupid. LeBron should really just commit to one team and stick with the team come high or low. Say he joins the Lakers or a different team next year, and he doesn't win a championship. He'll basically hold every team hostage.

CLE isn't even in the top 3 to land LeBron this summer, IMHO.

Lakers

Philly

HOU

Cavs would have to make moves this summer that they haven't made in the last 2 years.  I just don't see it.

As much as I'd love to see him in LA, I just dont know if we can put a team together without giving up most of our youth that would convince him that he should come to LA and run into GS in the WCF. He can pretty much stay in the East and walk into the finals. If he comes to the West, the finals will be a joke.

People need to stop looking at the stat line and use it as a definition on how a player performed. I can't believe we're still going through this, considering we had a certain somebody whose presence despite his stat lines would influence the Lakers positively. The Lakers are simply more competitive and better with IT. You can see it with the players. Players were looking for him the whole game.

IT's height just makes it look worse than it really is. He was missing easy jumpers that he hits all the time.

Just shows how if the Lakers simply land one all star this off season, how good we will be.

Haven't been impressed with IT during his short tenure here.

He's playing like 2016-2017 Jordan Clarkson.

No Defense

Straight chucking

Out of control when penetrating the basket

I really like Isaiah Thomas. His competitiveness and ability at that size is truly special and i really feel bad for the way the Celtic took advantage of the guy. For that reason i would like nothing more than to see him succeed with the Lakers.

At the same time this last game against the Blazers really exposed some of his weaknesses. He’s unable to create the separation that made him so good last season really really hurts him.

Where was this when the Lakers were winning?

I have no idea what you're watching. Isaiah is Isaiah. A 5 foot 9 offensive guard who can run the offense, pick and roll, and score in bunches.

No he's not Clarkson in anyway.

- No point guard in the NBA plays defense.

- Takes what the defense is giving him.

- Sets up most of the offense with his drives and penetration, actually.

He's still rounding in shape... there's proof of that when you compare his stats to when he was on Cleveland. He's averaging 21 points and 6.5 assists off the bench. His shooting % will get there, as he's a career 45% shooter. Clarkson is nowhere near these numbers.

I agree with this actually.

ITs worst season (other than this one coming back from injury) is better than Clarkson's best season.

The moment the team loses, cats come in talking that all that jive. During that winning streak, people are on hush mode.

IT had a pretty [expletive] game yesterday, but he’s still better than Clarkson has ever been for us and he’ll continue to get better. You have to take the good with the bad.

Lakers Fans...

This is going to sound a lot worse than I mean it to but I really don't think a large portion of our fan base has ever played organized basketball.  Some of the things people say, Middle School Basketball Players wouldn't even say.

I seriously think a lot of people just listen to sports radio or announcers and parrot what they say...some times, people repeat the SAME EXACT THINGS they read on a BLOG or some writer who gets paid to get clicks.

And they actually attempt to DEFEND inaccurate things that should be fairly common sense!

IT saved the Lakers yesterday. They were in an early 15 pt hole, and he came in and quickly stemmed the bleeding with some timely long balls....kept the Lakers in striking distance, and this later helped overcome the deficit and turn it into a lead in the second quarter going into halftime.

Frankly, I would still rather have him closing games at this point than Lonzo who was flat out lousy in the clutch yesterday. Lonzo is great at pushing the ball and attacking in transition....but put him in a halfcourt execution scenario, and he is average to mediocre at best. That is where we need the ball in IT's hands making plays for others or getting to his spots to hit open shots. Lonzo has a long way to go when it comes to the latter.
