It does take more physical effort to shoot farther away!

I’m asking why aren’t these young guys who are trying to make it to the nba, why don’t they develop a nba range three point shot? Especially given how valued it is...

A couple posts previous someone was talking about melten or whatever his name is and how he’d be a good pick at 25 so I’m also asking why? What does he bring to the table? Especially since it seems he’s not a very good three point shooter. Unless low 30s is good. I don’t consider that good...

Not strong enough?

Most of the kids play the game based off their athleticism and no skill what so ever. They play to their strengths and never their weaknesses.

Jump high
Handles and get to the bucket

See how the midrange is almost a lost art. Dunks and highlight reels.

Just my opinion.

Per @KevinOConnorNBA, the Lakers could be looking to move up in the draft with an eye on Zhaire Smith 👀👀

Awesome. I think Zaire could be one of the steals in the draft. The perfect guy to run the floor in transition.

If I were a possible draft pick I’d opt to go sooner and work on my weaknesses later.

I think I've whittled my choices for the 2nd round pick down to 3 players:

Billy Preston

Chimezie Metu

Sviatoslav Mikhailiuk

I reserve the right to change, add or subtract.  The 1st two are projects.  SM is NBA ready.

Here are the lottery teams who also have multiple 1st round picks:

PHO - 1/16

ATL - 3/19/30

CHI - 7/22

PHI - 10/26

LAC - 12/13

I wonder if we could trade Ingram or Kuzma for 1 or more of those lottery picks...not likely but something to think about.

I think we should be looking at the Kings and Hawks as potential trade partners for Kawhi. They're prone to making dumb decisions and as far as i can tell they're not super sold on the guys that likely will be available at 2 or 3.

E.g. Send Ingram, Kuzma, 2019 1st pick to Kings/Hawks who'd send 2nd/3rd pick + filler to SA who would send us Kawhi.

Spurs would love Doncic or Jaren Jackson Jr.

As for trading BI or Kuz for an additional lottery pick. I dont see any reason to do that at all unless it's part of a bigger deal.

Sports Illustrated
#25: Keita Bates-Diop, F, Ohio State
#47: Jarred Vanderbilt, F/C, Kentucky

KBD is a good pick...JV is a project but will likely be better in a free flowing system than he was at UK.

ESPN/Draft Express

#25: Grayson Allen, G, Duke
#47: Malik Newman, PG/SG, Kansas

Decent to good...we can never have too many shooters.  Newman was one of the top rated players coming out of high school (to Mississippi St).  Transferred to KU.  Potential sleeper pick.

CBS – Gary Parrish

#25: Zaire Smith, SG, Texas Tech
#47: n/a

Love Zhaire Smith...he won't fall that far.

USA Today

#25: Josh Okogie, SG, Georgia Tech
#47: Omari Spellman, C, Villanova

Good...Spellman is interesting.  Okogie is a bust or boom player, IMHO.

The Athletic – Sam Vecenie

#25: De’Anthony Melton, G, USC
#47: Devon Hall, G/F, Virginia

Pass...not high on Melton but Hall is a decent pick, not great.

NBA.com – David Aldridge

#25: Mitchell Robinson, C, Chalmette (La) Highschool
#47: n/a

The Sporting News – Sean Deveney

I'm ok with this.  Not sure why the "n/a" for the 47th pick but I see Bynum potential in 7'1, over 250lbs, 7'4 or 7'5 wingspan with elite level athleticism averaging around 6bpg (in high school).

Bleacher Report

#25: Donte DiVincenzo, SG, Villanova
#47: n/a

I'm good with this one also.  I think Gary Trent Jr, Jerome Robinson, Kevin Huerter or even Grayson Allen would also fit this mold.  This draft is DEEP with shooters.  If Mitchell Robinson is off the board, I'm fine with any of the SGs listed above.

Which would I prefer?

None are perfect.  I'd like to pick up a shooter with the 25th pick and Spellman with the 47th but that's not happening...Mitchell Robinson at 25th with Newman at 47th?

Just goes to show that the Draft is very, VERY unpredictable.

While Mitchell Robinson is intriguing more likely gone by 25, getting upside shooters that can and will be good defenders is the need at present. Since this is obvious who should we take? I am trusting the front office until proven otherwise!
