Amazing trade for the Lakers.  Only way we can screw it up is if IT is still here next season.  Every stop except Boston he's been a locker room cancer and he's 29-30 coming off a serious injury.  Maybe.....maybe on a one year prove it deal.  Idc how big a fan he is I really don't want him here.  I suppose we'll see how the rest of the season shakes out.

BTW how did we get Cleveland's first in that deal?  I think it's solid straight up.  Until proven otherwise I'm gonna chalk it up to Rob Pelinka's genius lol

Not sure how anyone can be against this trade. Clarkson and Nance were great bench pieces, but depth can always be replaced and acquired.

Loved Nance's hustle, but he's not a player you can play large minutes and depend on. His game was also uni-dimensional with not only lacking spacing but having no offensive moves in general. We also already have quite a few PF's on this team.

Clarkson had been playing amazing, but he had stretches like this last season too and then he reverted back to the chucking, inefficient version the start of this season. His ceiling wasn't particularly high either. With Hart's recent play, he seems to be a very viable, more-defensive oriented replacement for JC.

We now have more cap space, a 1st round pick, and some spacing from IT/Frye. Doubt we re-sign IT unless we miss out on free agents. And if that's the case, it better be a very cheap deal with him coming off the bench.

Many seem to think that IT isn't a possibility after this season.

I for one think it's very possible that we retain him. Why?

His value isn't nearly as high on the market as it seems.  Teams understand his defensive flaws and I personally think most view him as a 6th man type player considering a majority of franchises already have their star point guard.  With LA and Kobe being his favorite teams, I wouldn't be shocked if we retained him at a bargain to be our bench spark.

From how he talks thats not somthing he would do. He will be looking for big money and a starting role. He still thinks hes MVP caliber player.

Reality will settle in come Summer time when the offers are significantly below his asking price.

Lebron wanted IT out so bad he attached the 1st rounder to ensure it happens haha

Let some stupid team overpay him or give him a one year prove it deal when the market dries up for him.  Not looking to sign him long term for any significant amount of money.

Someone needs to get on their knees and properly service Magic after this deal.

They would get AIDS yea...but it needs to be done.

Feel bad for the Cavs. Or maybe I don't because of the Cp3 fiasco. But they've mortgaged their whole future for LeBron.

I hope IT rediscoveres himself on the Lakers and wills the Lakers to some victories.

This deal just gives us flexibility and more options going forward. Not only do we get two expiring deals to attain 2 max slots for 2018 and 2019, we also got the first round pick. This also gives us the option of trading our 2019 first round pick along with Deng, since we are getting a pick this year. Not saying we're going to do that, but it's now an option if we feel it's the right move.

I liked Clarkson and Nance and all, but this is just a great deal for us.
