From LG

Scottie Pippen today on ESPN's NBA Jump who's son goes to Sierra Canyon

Quote: "I kind of made a few calls yesterday, and from what I'm hearing... nothing is... um, official yet (smiles), so it's not to say it can't happen, just nothing is official."

Difference is LeBron and PG are available as free agents right now whereas there is no guarantee Kawhi or AD ever will be. Could be waiting for a train that never arrives.

Lets just keep things simple.

Get Lebron, Get George, Get rid of Deng, Keep Randle.

Check the market for potential high-end players that can be acquired via trade.

Put quality ring chasing veterans around the team.

That's it. If we can land a Kawhi or Butler this offseason, great. If not, then we go into the season with the team we have and see what happens. If Minny implode and KAT becomes even more disgruntled, maybe he becomes available. Maybe AD wants out. Maybe Butler. Porzingiz. Who the hell knows.

What i do know is that we have a young core of guys that is extremely cheap, very productive and with very high upside, which could keep the "title-window" open for the next decade, so trading them now would have to provide assets that REALLY move the needle in the short term.

“I just think the Lakers are the clearest…simplest path because they have the space to sign him…and they have the availability in L.A. to create a second max slot without having to do much.” - @wojespn on L.A. signing LeBron James

There’s reportedly a ‘growing belief’ Paul George will decide to stay with the Thunder https://t.co/kwzdhdav7W https://t.co/nlsqJgr908

Martin Lonzo still can’t buy me a drink so let em grow some first taste of NBA he cares he’ll be back with a solid shot next season! All Lakers are working hard this off season and depending on draft and FA’s we will be even better GSW has its own issues with contracts coming up and they’ll cut some folks; Swaggy got his ring now I’d be shocked if he’s there opening night! But Ariza may fill that void for a discount good fit for both but the Clock is running!

Realistically,

what are the chances for Lebron + George + Young Core against Warriors and Rockets in next two seasons?

Season record

Playoffs

Curious what people think.

Tough question to answer because a lot would depend on whether or not we break up the young core, who else we might add to the mix and how they develop.

I'm pretty confident that the room exception and veteran min. deals will go a long way for that team with Lebron and George in LA. Would probably expect them to get something along the lines of Lopez, Jarrett Jack and maybe Luke Babbitt.

So our young core, plus LBJ and PG and a few quality veteran additions like mentioned above would probably make us a 53-win team next season and i think we'd be on par with Houston in the playoffs, and while we wouldn't be favored against the Warriors we would have a decent chance.

The following season we'd have the MLE and everyone should be better, so i would say we could be close to a 60-win team and be on par with GS in the playoffs.
