Assuming he clears waivers today, the Lakers are strong front-runners to sign forward Jamil Wilson to a 10-day contract, league sources tell ESPN.

Well on his few game splayed he is shooting 43% on 4 attempts a game.

So apparently Julius, JC, and Larry are all on the block. The #Lakers should look to replace them all with shooters. KCP and Brook are also on 1-year deals and could be moved to a contender. I'm very interested to see how this all unfolds.

Nikola Mirotic might be a good option. Really good 3pt shooter and bull are looking to move him. He's got a team option next season as well so if we fail in FA we can always keep him.

OKC would be crazy not to think about it. Those fans would flip [expletive] if they [expletive] around and lose PG and Melo for nothing.

Already discussed, but there's the link.

The Los Angeles Lakers, needing to shed salary for summer free agency, had been hopeful of waiting until the end of the season to move Jordan Clarkson -- owed $26 million beyond this season -- but there's a mutual desire to find something sooner than later. The Lakers have made it clear that Clarkson, Julius Randle and Larry Nance are available.

Los Angeles has given up hope on unloading Luol Deng's contract in a trade because it would simply necessitate attaching too many draft assets.

The Lakers and Deng haven't discussed a buyout since late November, but he can simply wait until the season is over to get the full balance of the $37 million owed to him once the Lakers inevitably use the waive and stretch provision to clear salary-cap space. How could the Lakers avoid Deng's money languishing on the cap for six years with the waive and stretch? Well, Deng would have to be so desperate to leave Los Angeles before season's end to sign elsewhere on a minimum deal that he'd forfeit the $18.8 million on the 2019-20 season of his contract and accept a buyout. That makes little sense, getting just a half-season of freedom to likely play only a few minutes per game elsewhere.

REPORT: Jordan Clarkson & Lakers both have “mutual desire” to get traded BEFORE the trade deadline. Not really surprised since JC knows he’s gone, just hope we can get a like two 1st for him, AT LEAST.

Dude they are trending up and like 5th in the West right now.  Why on earth would they consider trading him when they are competing for a championship?  Losing them for nothing and not taking back anything sometimes is a good thing on it's own.  No way I'd take KCP and Randle for PG...I'd rather just let him walk.

OKC would be crazy not to think about it. Those fans would flip [expletive] if they [expletive] around and lose PG and Melo for nothing.

Magic Johnson is watching practice from his perch above the court today. He’d been out of town for a couple days.

• Market is slow right now. Sellers asking too much, buyers not desperate.
• DeAndre available—Milwaukee trying to get him, but hard to say if they have the assets.
• Detroit, New Orleans, New York & Portland all trying to upgrade their wing.
• Carroll, Burks, Fournier and Bazemore all trade targets.
• Detroit is being extremely aggressive.
• Lakers trying to move Clarkson in season. Clarkson, Randle, Nance all available.
• LA has given up on moving Deng because it would take too much.
• Atlanta trying to unload vets for picks and young players.
• Bulls trying to trade Mirotic. Mirotic very interested in Jazz (and he has a NTC due to being on his QO, so he actually has some control)
• Memphis wants a first for Reke but is unlikely to get it
• OKC planning to keep PG.
• New Orleans planning to keep DeMarcus Cousins
• Memphis (for now) planning to keep Gasol.

Lakers should sign Jamil Wilson and aggressively look to get Mirotic using randle, clarkson, or Nance. Probably would need a 3rd team for picks. That nets us 2 40%+ 3 point shooters to pair with Lonzo. We'll miss Clarksons scoring but we need shooters more than ball handling attackers right now.

Trade Clarkson and/or Randle and then stretch Deng on top of that?  Seems like preemptive overkill.  If we're able to clear enough space for two max contracts then we shouldn't do a damn thing with Deng.  He'll be a big expiring in 2019.  Attach a future pick and bring in a Bledsoe level talent.

Niko has veto powers over his trade. The only way Bulls could force the issue is to pick up his team option which the team acquiring him likely wouldn't want unless they want him long term.  With LA being worst in the West I doubt he'd approved the trade.  Anything can happen though.

Deng is signed through 2020.

We don't really have a pathway to bringing in two max level talents by the summer of 2019 ("Plan B") unless we do something about his contract.

If he's still on the roster in the 19-20 season, it's because we've struck out big time.
