I believe not bringing back Bazemore on the QO to chase Melo was a dumb mistake.  He signed the same deal as Deng did.  I believe having Bazemore in house prevents the Deng signing.  Not that Bazemore isn't overpaid but he'd fit this team's current makeup and probably would be much easier to move instead of Deng.

We need to stop with this remorse crap.

Mitch and Jim don't care as much as some of you do. Move on.

I think I touched on this a year or two ago...stupid mistake. Brought back Ryan Kelly over Bazemore and people on this board (well, just one) defended it, lol.

Came back to bite us in the ass when Bazemore turned us down to go back to ATL and we had to settle for Deng. Believe we offered him more money too.

It was a mistake (for Jim 😂) to hire MDA and Brown. Been downhill ever since.

Fattest mistake was selling out to TWC. My fandom died a little that day. I won’t be happy till I see Laker road games on KCAL again. But it’ll never happen. Greedy ass Buss family. Oh well. Hopefully next in charge will repair all the damage done lately.

Idk if you can put that on the Buss family.  If the Lakers were owned by a corporate tycoon whose primary source of wealth was not the team or some investment group I think the Lakers would have sold out even harder even longer ago.  Can't fight the tide forever.

It’s on them. I curse them for it. They should’ve sold out sooner I agree. Why do us favors at the family expense? What was wrong with prime ticket and FSW?

One mistake that hasn't been mentioned is the Lakers missing out on Kristaps Porzingis. The Lakers would be in a much better position as a franchise with a true promising young player that on the team already.

Looking back in hindsight it would have been sweet if the Lakers would have just stayed at the 4 spot that year instead of jumping to #2 lol.  Hell, maybe we don't even sign Mozgov.  But who knows maybe we take Mudiay haha.  It is what it is.

Regarding taking Porzingis with the 2nd pick... I blame Darko.

He was mentioned at that spot for the Lakers around draft time. I wouldn't have judged them for it. Good talent evaluators can see what others can't. That's why teams like the Spurs are successful.

He was the one player 99% of posters agreed we absolutely should not draft.  This board would have rioted lol
