Hear me out,  every team is gunning for the Lakers to embarrass them after everything that has happened this summer and it's mostly due to Lonzo.  Bringing him off the bench will bring down expectation to begin the season and give the team a chance to stay in games.   Once 10-15 games have passed you can start him with the other players.  Think about it, there is no difference coming off the bench 4 minutes into the game and playing your regular minutes.  Thoughts?

Honestly thought Lonzo played fine last night.

Lonzo's skillset is creating scoring opportunities for his teammates, and he can only do that if he has people who can score playing by his side.

Ingram, Deng, Nance and Lopez are not conducive to Lonzo's style as a unit. If you mix and match the guys we started last night with some scorers then it could work, but the way it was constructed it just will not.

It's so freaking obvious and I'm shocked Luke put that lineup out.

Oh I agree, he played well but this would be a team move.   The Lakers are lacking the one player that can stop runs from the other team.  Coming off the bench also gives him the opportunity to come in with Kuzma who can actually hit a jumper when open.   Unfortunately the team only has 3 players that compliment each other, Lonzo, Kuzma and Nance. Not sure about KCP yet

So why not just start Kuzma then? Seriously.  Sending dude to the bench makes 0 sense whatsoever strategically or symbolically

I don't understand why we should put out a bad lineup when we're capable of putting a unit out there that can play the game right, whether it gets us wins or not.

By no NBA stadard did Ball play "well."

However, benching him is a bad idea.

Again, no difference in coming off the bench for the first 10- 15 games.  The Lakers will be out of games by the 1st quarter often with teams coming at him with everything they have.  Kobe Bryant came off the bench his first years in the league....Lonzo is not Kobe and he can do the same.

I think Lonzo can handle the pressure, he's a starter. Ingram is the one who can't and it shows.

Kobe didn't start because the team had Eddie Jones who was an allstar SG level talent.  Whose going to start over Ball?  Alex Caruso?  Tyler Ennis? Are you just trolling? If so save us the time and energy.  You still haven't provided a logical reason for why he should come off the bench.  The kid has been marketed as their franchise savior to some degree.  Benching him instead of simply adjusting the lineups to who he plays with does more harm than good.  It also makes the Lakers look even more foolish.

In no way this will make sense after building him as the franchise player, not even the worst coach will do this in this current situation
