So we are going to play with commercial ads on our jerseys...LOL

EL SEGUNDO – The Los Angeles Lakers today announced a multi-year partnership with Wish, a California based, e-commerce platform. As part of the partnership, Wish’s logo will be featured on Lakers jerseys beginning in the 2017-18 season.

The partnership, which brings together two global brands, will include a large-scale integrated marketing program, including in- arena fan engagement, social and digital activation. In addition, the two companies will collaborate on various community initiatives within Los Angeles and in the surrounding counties.

"We are incredibly pleased to partner with the NBA’s most iconic brand," said Peter Szulczewski, CEO of Wish. "The Lakers epitomize a legacy of excellence and worldwide success. This partnership symbolizes our shared focus to reach all fans, not only within the LA community, but across every continent."

"We are thrilled to welcome Wish as a new partner of the Los Angeles Lakers," said Tim Harris, President of Business Operations and Chief Operating Officer. "When it came to the jersey patch, knowing its prominent placement, our goal was to partner with an innovative and ambitious global company. Wish more than checks that box. They are a leader in e-commerce and are constantly striving to grow and improve their brand and how they connect with their consumers. In addition, and most importantly, we are excited to partner with a company that shares our commitment to giving back to the community."

Wish’s logo will be on a patch stitched into the Lakers jersey on the front left shoulder opposite the Nike logo. The team will wear the jersey for the first time during the Lakers first preseason game vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves on September 30th at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

The Wish patch will also be featured on the South Bay Lakers jersey, the Lakers' NBA G League minor league team, as well as on select jerseys for the Junior Lakers.
The Lakers partnered with WME | IMG’s Global Partnerships group on the jersey patch opportunity.

this will look like that:

At least wait a year and get it at 60% off

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Starting to think politicians should just sell advertising on their left lapel.

Can we stop with the silly flag pins that some wear? And some don't.

Everyone in state dept for example can kick things off by wearing Exxon Mobil pins

(assuming anyone is filling ranks)

For a franchise as wealthy as Lakers, I wish the sponsor was a charity organization or humanitarian program. A non-profit deal would have made perfect sense.

For example, a UNICEF logo would have been great. It is a missed opportunity and lacks vision from the Lakers brass.

This logo thing is gross.

I'm so disappointed in the NBA for letting this happen.

In most American sports fans are bombarded with commercials before, after and during games on every single platform, on every surface in the arena and generally everywhere you look. In addition, they put in mandatory timeouts for commercial purposes, which directly interfere with the actual game.

Fans ignore that, but when they introduce a tiny logo on the jerseys its suddently a problem?

Its gotten pretty bad at the Laker games themselves too.

You cant walk 20 ft once going thru the doors before bombarded by all sorts of folks coming up to you selling something.

Verizon.

Wall Street Journal.

Lawrence Welk Resorts.

(probably 4-5 others i cant remember now)

That part is almost worse than the actual signage which is everywhere.

Oddly the bathrooms are advertising free last i remember.

Hello GoldBond, Icy Hot and Shaq!
