A thread for Hot Takes regarding the Lakers.

I'll start out:

HOT TAKE: Lonzo Ball will lead the league in assists next season.

Reasoning: Harden (1st in 16-17) and CP3 (4th) will cancel each other out a bit, Westbrook (3rd) will come down to earth with George getting the ball some. Rubio (5th) and Wall (2nd) both will be around 10apg, but Lonzo will be #1.

Closer to 5-6 per imo.

I think we need to add some experience on our asst coaching staff too.

Im uneasy w madsen, miles, jud.

HOT TAKE

Magic 'might' actually get more media time than LeVar

(at least im hoping)

Praying for  1. Youngsters Ballin (Didn't really happen on a consistent basis at all) 2. Miracle Trade (Also didn't happen. And we traded our best player for chump change) 3. Kick Ass Rooks (Zubac exceeded, Ingram tried but disappointed overall)

READY FOR SEASON TO BE OVER!!!

I think Lonzo is going to take the league by storm. This early success will be reasoned away as "just Summer League"...but when you put actual NBA caliber talent around Lonzo, he's a catalyst who will take the team to another level. And he's done that at every level he's played in thus far....HS, college, and now Summer League.

HOT TAKE: The Lakers won't just be vying for a playoff spot, but they might even be borderline contenders.

Kuzma will take Randle's spot or Randle will likely be traded before the deadline

I wish. But Randle is going to be hard to ship out...the market for him is lukewarm at best. It would be awesome if we could somehow package Deng with him.

I'll say Lonzo will challenge for the top spot, but he'll be top 5 at least.

Last years leaders:
1. Harden 11.2
2. Wall 10.7
3. Westbrook 10.4
4. Paul 9.2
5. Rubio 9.1
6. James 8.7

Like you said Harden an Paul will fall off, Wall unchanged, Westbrook should fall a bit cause PG needs the ball in hand also.

Ball brings it up every single time, in SL, I saw players actually attempting just to get the ball back to him to see what he can create. That plus the 1 or 2 length of court passes he'll get should put his in the 7-8 apg range fairly easily.

Kuzma will lead PF's in 3pt percentage

Randle will be among the 5 lowest.

(cold take)

Praying for  1. Youngsters Ballin (Didn't really happen on a consistent basis at all) 2. Miracle Trade (Also didn't happen. And we traded our best player for chump change) 3. Kick Ass Rooks (Zubac exceeded, Ingram tried but disappointed overall)

READY FOR SEASON TO BE OVER!!!

I agree with the first one

The second one makes no sense

For the third one, why didn't you just say 3 out of 4?

Lol. Kuzma could get killed on the boards and in the paint as rookie 4. Or simply schooled as a rookie SF.

So how doesn't that make sense?

Hot Take - Brook Lopez, Julius Randle, and KCP will be detrimental to this team by shunning away Ball and Ingram.

Reason: They're all in contract years and will do what's best for them.
