The Lakers now sit closer to 8th (5.5 games back) than they do to last place in the West (6.5 games).

Thunder (31-24) : No change.

Nuggets (29-25) : Emmanuel Mudiay, Devin Harris

Blazers (29-25) : No change.

Pelicans (28-25) : Omer Asik, Tony Allen, Jameer Nelson, Dante Cunningham, Rashad Vaughn, Nikola Mirotic

Clippers (27-25) : Blake Griffin, Brice Johnson, Willie Reed, Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic

Jazz (26-28) : Rodney Hood, George Hill, Derrick Rose, Jae Crowder

Lakers (22-31) : Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Jr., Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye

It is unknown how much change these moves will make down the line, but IT responds to one of needs, and Frye in theory fits Luke's system. I believe Jazz will get worse. Hood and Hill made up of their backcourt depth, and Rose is far from matching that.

I thought George Hill was with the Queens.

The Jazz have been playing well, and Hood had fallen out of favor.  Said he expected to get traded, and had felt "isolated" (I believe was the word he used) in recent weeks.

Not sure his departure hurts the team.

Not sure we have enough time or experience to creep into the PO's and really I dont care, I just want the team to continue to progress, we'll get there.

He was. I thought back to day he was with Jazz and mixed up.

I think we also have like the second best record in 2018 or something. If anyone’s feels like looking up best 20 game record or whatever...

I don’t see them making it but they are definitely showing a ton of potential going forward and have drafted EXTREMELY well in addition to making great moves. I expect playoffs next season with the potential of a deep run if they continue to improve and get even decent pieces in FA.

First 5 games with the new guys will give me a sense of how they could possibly finish the season.  Will be fun no matter what.

Jazz are on a roll as well. They've won 8th straight now. Pelicans and Clippers better start losing some games.

Freaking jazz. They were 19-25. 8 game win streak 27-25. Incredible how quickly ones fortunes can change, but it gives me hope bc we’re 12-4 which is pretty damn good.

Btw clippers beat pistons today and I was honestly kinda surprised. I really thought the pistons would beat em.

Blazers are gonna win I think. Lillard had like 50 beginning of the fourth.

Pelicans thankfully lost. Was hoping they’d be in the playoffs but if them not making it means we do? No love lost fam lol.

There are like 8 teams fighting for playoff spot in West. Ridiculous.

(34-24) - T'Wolves

(31-25) - Thunder

(31-25) - Blazers

(28-25) - Clippers

(29-26) - Nuggets

--------------------------------

(28-26) - Pelicans

(27-28) - Jazz

and on outside chance, we are following with 23-31.

Next 10:

T'Wolves - SAC, HOU, LAL, @HOU, CHI, @SAC, @POR, @UTA, BOS, GSW (5-5)

Thunder - MEM, CLE, @MEM, @SAC, @GSW, ORL, @DAL, @PHX, @POR, HOU (7-3)

Blazers - UTA, GSW, @UTA, @PHX, SAC, MIN, OKC, @LAL, NYK, GSW (5-5)

Clippers - @PHI, @BRK, @BOS, @GSW, @PHX, @DEN, HOU, NYK, BRK, NOP (4-6)

Nuggets - @PHX, SAS, @MIL, SAS, HOU, LAC, @MEM, @CLE, @DAL, CLE (4-6)

Pelicans - @BRK, @DET, LAL, MIA, @MIL, PHX, @SAS, @DAL, @LAC, @SAC (3-7)

Jazz - @POR, SAS, PHX, POR, DAL, HOU, MIN, @SAC, ORL, @IND (7-3)

Lakers - @DAL, @NOP, @MIN, DAL, @SAC, @ATL, @MIA, @SAS, POR, ORL (7-3)

It would put the rankings at

(39-29) - T'Wolves

(38-28) - Thunder

(36-30) - Blazers

(34-31) - Jazz

(33-32) - Nuggets

--------------------------------

(32-31) - Clippers

(31-33) - Pelicans

(30-34) - Lakers

Appreciate you making these posts. I know how much time they can take!

At worst we have an 8 game differential we need to make up to beat the current fifth seeds. At best we have a 6 game differential we need to make up to beat the eight seeds. The clippers won the season series so they own the tiebreaker. We have a little less than 30 games left. Per each ten, we need to make up at least 2 games. It’s possible but this is probably going down to game 82.

Of the top teams, I’d rather face the spurs in the first round so if we’d want to make a second round, we need to be the sixth seed. That’s a pipe dream. The more I think about it, the more I realize we need to play some really inspired ball. Like even if we finish 22-6, that puts us at 45-37. The thunder and blazers have to go 14-12. The clippers 17-12. The nuggets 16-11. Pelicans 17-11. Jazz 18-9.

The thunder and blazers are playing at 0.554. 14-12 is 0.538
Clippers are playing at 0.528 and 17-12 is 0.586
Nuggets are playing at 0.527 and 16-11 is 0.593
Pelicans are playing 0.519 and 17-11 is 0.607
Jazz are playing at 0.491 and 18-9 is 0.667
Lakers are playing at 0.426 and 22-6 is 0.786.
Right now we’re 12-4 in our last sixteen. That’s 0.75.

It’d be interesting to see a table with similar percentages comparing how well we’d need to play to win a certain number of games versus how well these other teams would need to play to win the same amount of games.

I’m still rooting ma lakers but now I have a greater appreciation for what it’ll take. Like I knew it was a long shot, but winning like 79% of the remaining games?? #HomerAllTheWay

I'd want to play GS in the Playoffs.

We aren't winning against anyone if by a miracle we make it in.

Might as well be to the eventual champions

Excited for  1. Lebron! (Still love me some Kobe, but damn this guy is amazing) 2. Another big get (Whether in FA or in a trade we need some attractions and closers) 3. Young Guys making big jump (Assuming we have anyone left after more necessary moves either genius ones or in desperation)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

We won’t get 7th but if Houston gets 1 and we sneak in and play them I think we’d 100% lose but I do think it’d be one of those series where it goes 6 hard fought games maybe 7 and everyone’s like how the F did that happen

I think goldenstates a cool sweep. Maybe 5 at absolute best
