Paul George has been traded to OKC, per sources

Hearing Oladipo and Sabonis going to Indy

Paul George coming to Oklahoma City via trade, I can confirm. Oladipo and Sabonis headed to Indy. @ramonashelburne first reported.

This is actually a pretty good scenario for the Lakers...

I doubt OKC is a team he'll decide to stay with.  Thankfully he didn't go to Boston or Cleveland.

I agree and there's a shorter distance from Jokelahoma to here. They'll need a third piece to get serious or it's 3-5 seed

Why wouldn't he stay with Russ?

Pau Gasol is GONE

Why wouldn't he stay with Russ?

Because Russ is probably the most ball dominant player in the entire association.  Despite his tremendous performance this year that was deserving of an MVP award, he has a tendency to take extremely difficult and low percentage shots late in games that often hurts his team.

He's been a pretty selfish and sporadic player in the clutch for his entire career now.

Why do you think Durant decided to leave OKC?  The Warriors play a brand of basketball that is team oriented unlike what it was in OKC with Russ.

Indy is petty as hell for trading him to OKC for that. Dipo on a bad contract and and a slow big man when they had all those offers on the table.

They simply sent him to the city they knew he'd hate the most because of what he did to them. He's also going to completely ruin that fan base when he leaves in a year.

What a turd package. Especially if they wanted Ingram and Ball.

Pacers certainly got spare change in return for George...

They should have waited it out to see if Hayward went to Boston.  I really thought Ainge would have given in and provide several young assets in order to try and dethrone Lebron.

These packages lately are a joke. Makes the CP3 trade to LA look like a fleecing.

Indy is better off keeping him than trading for the Dipo contract. If you do some proper house cleaning, they can put together a top 4 playoff team around PG now that the East is such garbage. Boom, PG makes an all NBA team and suddenly you're asking him to leave 50+million on the table to play for another team in an era where no one's taking down Golden State.

Don't count on anything.

Gambling on him leaving is a tall order.

Another 25 win season here they go.

Well that's always been the case. He was never going to join a winner. He would have to help build something from the ground up.

OKC won 47 games without him, and it's going to be him instead of Roberson now.  I expect that OKC will have a better season next season, but the dynamic between George and Westbrook will be challenged, especially with both of them having "I should be taking the last shot" mentality.  Westbrook won't tolerate if George has something to say about him taking the gamer winning shot over him.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

A playoff series between the Warriors and Thunder might be interesting.

This is the best outcome for now. We keep our assets and have the cap space to sign PG free and clear a year from now.

Not too worried about PG wanting to stay in OKC. HIm and Westbrook will be formidable, but they won't beat GSW.

This is the same chance as the Lakers when they traded for Dwight Howard. Except OKC did not gut their team. Only difference here is that RW is just entering his prime compared to a Kobe Bryant ending his career.

If you call losing Andrew Bynum and a some draft picks "gutting their team" you're quite the NBA historian there ...
