Kuzma may win back up 3 spot from Brewer or Deng if he keeps playing like this.   I still think he has a way to go but that three point shot is coming along well. The decision making has to as well.

He's best as a 4. I'd rather have him running at the 4 and brewer at the 3

Kuz is a 4. Nance's time at back-up may be finished...this guy can develop into exactly what we need.

Downloaded and watch the game again. This kid looked amazing. Great perimeter D, great shooting, athletic and smooth.

Do we know what Nance looks like after the off season?

I was really impressed with his ability. He showed he could potentially do everything on the court.

Seemed there was a stint in that game where he hit like 4 shots on 4 or 5 straight possessions.

Looks good with potential.

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Maybe we should get rid of Randle?

Kuzma isn't better than Nance or Randle right now.  If you'd put Nance or Randle out there in Summer League they'd have dominated.

I think the most important thing to take away from Kuzma is the things that can translate.  What we saw is that his three point shot looks to have really been coming around.  He ended the college season last year across the last few games shooting around 40% from three.  He also had a good showing at the combine.

Now we've seen this happen before, with Clarkson and the like, so the question was whether or not his improved jumper would sustain through actual organized play, and thus far it seems to have been and that's a big thing.

The defense he also played on Jaylen and Jayson also showed some solid potential, as well as his passing.  He also however showed tunnel vision tendencies and a lower basketball IQ than we'd like, but the most important thing to take away from it is that he may be a reliable three point shooter and potentially could play the 3.

I think it would be great if he beats Deng and Brewer in the rotation as backup 3 that would be a success for his rookie season.

Here is the crazy. If we get PG and lets say Westbrook or another superstar that plays the 3 / 4 what happens to the kids on the team now?

If it's George and Bron it's an easy fit. If Westbrook comes it's not as easy

Keep Ingram and trade Busto Ball to the Sparks for a packet of soy sauce

You can get a pretty good idea of how and why KCP is going to thrive next to Lonzo when you watch what Kuzma does resetting/positioning himself off ball for those three point looks he's getting.

Nance doesn't have to worry, he'd destroy the comp in this summer league and put up better numbers than he did last year.

The person who should worry about losing playing time right now is Zubac. Not because he's playing terrible but his effort isn't there and he's going to have to assert himself in practice and training camp.  Cause nothing would be stopping the Lakers from running a bench lineup of (lets just assume if they get Clark)

Jordan Clarkson
Ian Clark
Corey Brewer
Kyle Kuzma
Larry Nance Jr.

If they wanted to run small ball.   Because of that Zubac could get a lot of his minutes cut if he isn't bringing it this year like he did last year.

So I don't think Nance should be worried, he's played well 3-5 against actual NBA talent and they can run small with him easy in many lineups.  Zubac is the one who should worry if they don't think he's gonna be able to play wt Lonzo's pace and his post up game and defensive upside isn't showing itself, he can easily be benched to play Nance at small ball 5 with the bench and Kuzma at the 4, it's no little thing.
