The Los Angeles Clippers have continued to be one of the NBA's better teams since Chris Paul arrived in 2011, but they have yet to reach the Western Conference Finals.

Despite the Clippers' run of success and the shortcomings of the Los Angeles Lakers during the time period, they have yet to capture a significantly bigger share of the market.

"So look. I'll say two things," said Steve Ballmer. "No. 1, we've been kicking the Lakers' a-- the last several years. Let's just face it. We don't have the championships that the Lakers do. We don't have any of that. But in the world of sports it's, 'What did you do this season?' And all we can control is how we do this season, next game, next game, and I'm proud of what we're doing.

"Ok, yeah, we didn't have a championship 15 years ago but we're doing well.

"But our ultimate goal isn't to to beat one other team. It's to beat 29 other teams. If you tell me you were the top team in LA, but the 28th team in the league, I say to heck with that.

"So in a sense, the best way to beat the Lakers is also to be the No. 1 team in the world and that's what we're aspiring to do."

More in link...

Ballmer with a little trash talking. I can't wait til next year when the Lakers kick they're asses.

Clippers have remained a joke and the window is almost closed. Opportunities squandered. Should have moved years ago.

The guy is trying to trash talk after he just got a 1st round exit and now their best player is probably going to leave.

lol congratulations?

That's why you still have a division win banner instead of a championship

All of that "success" has essentially amounted to nothing and now the window is shut, he knows it and so he's scared

Lakers will win a chip before the Clippers do.  I'd bet a large amount of money on it.

Please, talk more smack. Add fuel to the inevitable inferno that will consume your pathetic club. We have more Laker fans in Hawaii than all of your 'clipper nation/tribe'.

Uh, yes, I'd consider the Clips to be kicking our butts...if the main objective of the game were WHINing, not WINning

As I've said the closest the Clippers get to a chip is standing next to the dip at a party!

He's right; and they will continue to demolish the Lakers for years to come.

I like to dip my feet in toilet water & smell them.

It really is adorable when we hear stuff like that.

This summer the following will happen:

CP3 will go to the Spurs

Blake will ask to be traded to the Thunder, which he will be for Oladipo/Sabonis/fillers

DJ will be traded to the Celtics for Jaylen Brown and fillers.

and the Clippers will be horrible for another couple of decades....

Dude has so many other things to worry about like CP to Spurs, getting out of the 2nd round, Chuck the Condor, his diabetes...but you can tell always being 2nd fiddle to the Lakers irks him to no end. He should move the team to Seattle

Actually most of this possible; CP3 to SAS is legit, if CP3 leaves its almost certain Blake will take his talent elsewhere (OK or BOS) and as far as DJ, ehhhhhhh thats a hefty contract.

The Clippers 5-minutes are over even if no one bolts, they are who they are... a regular season entertaining team, the end.

He's right. Lakers probably won what a couple games v them the last 5 years?

Few years back i left a Laker clipper game at halftime. Lakers were down by about 30 (i think 33 or 34).

This past season same thing. Lakers down 30 in 3rd. I said screw this. Left in 3rd.

(these were laker home games too).

Not entertaining. Certainly not competitive.

Couldnt believe this was 2 teams in the same LEAGUE.

Ready for big changes. Our team and theirs.

Praying for  1. Youngsters Ballin (Didn't really happen on a consistent basis at all) 2. Miracle Trade (Also didn't happen. And we traded our best player for chump change) 3. Kick Ass Rooks (Zubac exceeded, Ingram tried but disappointed overall)

READY FOR SEASON TO BE OVER!!!

I think the best thing to do with the Clippers is to just not respond.

Get better, then beat them on the court.

One of the many things that frustrated me about the Byron Scott era was him mouthing off about the Clippers and all the titles the Lakers used to win.

Quit talking.  Get better.  Then talk again.
