[Judge to Jim Buss]: Sir, please take off your hat please.

[Jim Buss]: I will not.

It's sad. The core problem behind all of this?

The thinking that a magical superstar will come in and save the day. That clearly was never going to happen with the Lakers being this bad. Jim and Mitch realized that, and realized the only way to come better is through the draft.

Unfortunately Jeanie does not understand this and bad unrealistic expectations. Lakers as an organization and a team are in an abyss.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

Like I said years ago, management change first (that's finally happened).

The next step to getting the team back to where it needs to be is an ownership change.

This kind of stuff is too dysfunctional an environment to be successful unless drastic change continues to take place.

Wait, how many Buss children are there? "Who's Johnny?"

Actually, I had that song from the movie Short Circuit in mind. I believe Johnny was one of the speakers at Dr Buss's memorial?

I said in another thread that if this whole "change" doesn't work that I wouldn't be surprised if the Buss' sold the team in 5-10 years. If stuff like this is happening that timeline could be even sooner. Dysfunctional may not be a good enough word for the state of things. A total overhaul may be needed before long.

I'd rather have the NBA take over if only temporarily until the kids settle this and maintain order. Let's hope they all come to their senses and eventually decide to sell.

Just take your guys money and walk. You know Jim buss wasn't the smartest owner but there's been more drama in one month than in jims entire tenure

Ignoring the veto which was the league not Jim buss

I said all of this years ago Big Fish, and people thought I was being pessimistic or negative.

Jim & Johnny's lawyer Robert Sacks tells ESPN they were never trying oust her as controlling owner. They voted to re-elected her yesterday

Wait what its going on here then? Is Jeanie making stuff up then?

Robert Sacks, lawyer for Jim and Johnny Buss: "Both Jim and Johnny hoped that any issues that might arise would be handled w/in the family"

Sacks: "We informed her lawyers orally and in writing that Jim and Johnny fully support Jeanie as the controlling owner of the Lakers."

Sacks: "Then inexplicably she then rushed into court saying they’re trying to oust me as the controlling owner."

Sacks: "I can tell you, Jim Buss and Johnny Buss, as co-trustees, who vote shares in the Lakers, support Jeanie as the controlling owner"

If the lawyer can prove what he is saying is true then Jeanie needs to be fired. She is causing problems here for no reason.

Sacks: "Yesterday both Jim & Johnny Buss signed a formal corporate document that voted trust shares to re-elect Jeanie as controlling owner"

Sacks said the mtg Jim and Johnny called was the yearly Board of Directors mtg. "it was overdue," he said.

Maybe Jeannie over reacted when Jim lawyered up. Maybe Jim called 1-800-NO-CUFFS after a night out and Jeannie's paranoia took over and BAM! We have this cluster f*** to deal with.

Well, if the 2 brothers' lawyers informed Jeanie's lawyers in writing, then that should suffice?

I've said it in other thead, but this is Jeanie being emotional after her breakup with Phil. Her decision to fire Jim and Mitch, then hiring Magic all comes to that one event. Now she is extremely insecure.
