I got a bad feeling about this 2018 thing. Either we're going to get a big surprise with two stars or end up with practically nothing. Now the latter seems more realistic. I hope I'm wrong

I guess PG just confirmed the above. Says he doesn't know why people feel he will leave a winning organization just to play in LA if LA isn't poppin

He's being very serious.  What have the last 5 off-seasons taught us about max level free agents? They want to go to a place they can make the most money and win the most games, and are looking for the best combination of both.  If a team can only offer one of those things, they are gonna get burned.  George is no different.  He'll pick the best winning situation where he can make the most money.

It's not about where home is, it's about where you're gonna do the most winning and make the most money while doing it.

Not completely true.

Three main factors are:  Money, winning, comfort

The balance of those shifts over time for different players, but generally, all will be at play to some degree, during every phase of a player's career.

Playing in your hometown is actually a deterrent for some.  KD hates going back to DC.

Why?

Because he got injured there?

Or just in general

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

LA isn't really all it's cracked up to be. Traffic, horrible transportation choices. Cost of living is through the roof. Property taxes. Too many people out here. The idea of LA is better than it really is.

Yeah I agree, the weather, the beach, the night life, the market place and the chicks suck.
