I think the next few days will be extremly important in terms of figuring out what the direction will be.

If Lakers trade Lou and Swaggy for picks, then we'll know Magic might be somewhat smart and on the same page as many analysts, writers, fans etc. who thinks that we need to keep our top 3 pick (and the 2019 pick), build through the draft etc.

If Lakers do nothing - or worse, give up the farm for Jimmy Butler - we'll know that we have turned into the Knicks of the west coast.

Does anyone have any idea about the direction of the team from here on out?

Trade all the young players for something. Then swing for the fences for a superstar

I like to dip my feet in toilet water & smell them.

I keep hearing people say "interested to see the new direction"

what [expletive]ing direction? We still got the same young guys, same coach, same flaws and magic ain't gonna get them to magically play better.

E trade all the young guys for talent or wait?

we basically traded in our waiting buddy or we gonna just ship everyone out

I'd say they lean towards trading some of the young guys for a proven player.

I feel like Russell will not be a laker by next season.

Bending over and taking it in the ass for the next 5 years. That's the new agenda.

Magic is a smart buisness man. We just have to hope that translates into running the Lakers.

Earvin Magic Johnson @MagicJohnson

I love Okafor because he's won a state championship in HS, NCAA Title at Duke and he can bring that championship pedigree to the Lakers.

Earvin Magic Johnson @MagicJohnson

If Brandon Knight were to come out, I would take him number 1 in the draft.

Yes.

Young core
Young coach.
By the time the kids were past the young stage, Deng and Mosgov would have been off the books.

Very apparent to NBA fans what was going on

Yeah, and you would ask the season ticket holders to come back when Deng and Mozgov are off the books.

I think you are looking for the Jim Buss appreciation thread. You will find the REAL fans in there.
