The difference between us and Philly is they had two players that showed they have huge amounts of talent from day 1. Simmons and Embiid may have had problems with injuries but as soon as they touched the court, they were pretty damn good.

The Lakers have had all of their rookies play terribly while the fan base makes excuses.

Isnt Embiid only in his second season of actually playing just like Ingram?

And aren't Simmons and Ball both technically rookies?

Why is there such a huge gap in talent? Lonzo was far more hyped than Simmons!

We need to wake the hell up!

Wake up what? Is any of your huffing and puffing going to change how fast or slow these guys develop

Further is anyone "waking up" going to change any of the issues you see?

Even further is this lack of patience you have going to change anything going on when the lakers hit the court

Double further what good does it do you at all to go from thread to thread stomping around how every laker youth is terrible and that everyone is making excuses

So what? The people making excuses have the exact same impact on this team as you "who is awake"

Difference is I can watch a game and enjoy watching Ingram grow and not be going "wah wah wah we don't have embiid"

lmao...do we even make the playoffs?

Of course

Making the playoffs now isn't even out of the question. Currently we're tied with the Jazz for the 10th spot - ahead of the Clippers - and just 1.5 games out of the playoffs.

Um..how many years has it been since we started our rebuild?

How many years need to pass before this "be patient" nonsense is a thing of the past?

Not exactly fair to look at things like that. And being patient is what will get us to the top. All smart people knows this. That is what the whole "process" was all about and i think its fair to say that Philly is on the right path.

I do not know how old most of the posters are here but rebuilds are exactly what the word is saying REBUILD. it does not happen over a year or two... It  happens overtime. what gets me is folk want to see things happen faster than a blink and a hiccup. Rebuild, new coaches, new front office.. new rookies... trades. this rebuild is far from over.

and everybody knew this the moment kobe retired... so.. enjoy what you can. it is what it is. complain all you want, criticize, applaud, whine and moan.

I agree completely. Rebuilding does take time and the best way to go about it is probably by following the Sixers blueprint and just going all-in.

Lakers never really committed to rebuilding until Kobe was off the books. The best thing we can do now is to continue down this path we're on and try to see if we can be good enough for guys like George and/or Lebron and/or Boogie to join us. With those teams also being quite bad at this point (despite having the young-guy excuse) i think there is a good chance we get some of these guys.

^that said, we do need to make some moves right now to help us win games. Amazingly our defensive back-bone keeps us in all of the games, but given our style of play offensively, we cant be the worst 3pt shooting team in the league.

They're one and done here, so there's no need to show them for pumping their value. Give Hart and Bryant some burn coming from the bench, give them the chance to earn some minutes.

Expiring contracts: Wayne Ellington, Spencer Dinwiddie, Seth Curry, Marco Belinelli, Ersan Illyasova.

Contracts: CJ Miles, Joe Ingles.

Maybe Wes Matthews (in a Deng-salary dump)

He might be a walking dead man, but at least he isn't in the ground yet, like Deng.

Could a team take him on then stretch him or are we only allowed to ?

Other teams can stretch him as well.
