The rumor is Lakers offered Randle and Russell but as known Sac insisted on Ingram deal was killed at that point.

THE DEAL

New Orleans receives:
DeMarcus Cousins
Omri Casspi

Sacramento receives:
Buddy Hield
Langston Galloway
Tyreke Evans
2017 New Orleans first-round pick (protected Nos. 1-3)
2017 Philadelphia second-round pick (via Pelicans)

NO will most likely make the playoffs now which makes that pick at best a 15th pick. The 2nd rounder will be around 35th pick. They will waive Tyreke and Langston. Just look at past drafts at that position. They will be lucky to even get a guy that will contribute for 5+ years let alone a all star player. This is like those old Ted Stepien trades with the cavs.

I agree Maj the Celtics would have been a comer in the East as Cavs are absent in the middle. The Pels will do better than with the departing players but as a potential eighth seed it's tough out the gate. They come here in the sixth so we'll see firsthand how they are. The Kings after holding on this long don't get better from this imo. A lot depends on the picks too. They did realize they weren't going anywhere and made a move, better with Randle and Russell but it's a wrap now if he doesn't resign opens the door again. I don't think LA is a Boogie friendly place where NO is more low key and close to his hometown.

He is a very good center in a league that doesn't value centers very highly.  He has also played in the league for a pretty substantial amount of time and never sniffed the playoffs.  If you can get him for what the Pelicans had to give up (nothing), then you do it, obviously, make the playoffs in the 8th spot and get your [expletive] pushed in by a team that doesn't even have a true center while you put 2 of the best in the league on the floor at the same time.  I would trade a package that involved Randle only because I don't think his game fits what the Lakers are trying to build long term, packages involving Russell, Ingram or both is a hard pass IMO.

I don't even think @NBA2K would let that trade happen even with the trade override option off LOL

Kings got nothing. Sixer fans are super hype because they have the future pick of the Kings, and the kings are gonna be a very bad team for the foreseeable future.

On the other hand NOLA has been improved, but the real question is how much? They def have the best talent at the 4 and 5, but will they match well? Boogie has been expanding his game further and further out of the paint and is seen with his low 45%, and close to FIVE 3 pointer attempts per game this year. He has never been a super efficient big. They have two bigs that can help protect the paint and rim, and of course they will have a huge advantage against most teams in rebounds. However, just putting two really good players next to each other does not mean instant success.

Maybe Boogie will have a better attiude now that he is not way and above his teammates in terms of talent, he isn't even the best on NOLA's roster. This can either be a good thing where he controls himself more since he feels like he has help out there, or he gets upset at Davis being the man in NOLA. Davis also needs to stay healthy. They are a guard away from having a really good team. At this point though they aren't much to be hype about, still will get trounced by the warriors or spurs. At this point you have to make another big move to compare to them, and if they can get another all star on that roster that starting 5 could be scary.

Spectrum Sports should hire Matt and pair him w D Fish

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Source familiar w/ Kings’ thinking: "Vivek thinks Buddy [Hield] has Steph Curry potential.” Am told that fixation was a key driver in deal.

Buddy spent 4 years in college and has shown minimal growth in his rookie season.  For him to be the driving force in a trade for arguably the best Center in the NBA shows that Vivek shouldn't be in the business.

Vivek might be dumber than Jim Buss then.

Buddy could easily be a guy playing in china in a few years. Insane that they think he is this good.

I still cant believe Kings agreed to such trade. We'll know more in the next couple of days.

Zubac, Clarkson and Randle would've been a better deal imo. Had the lakers traded lou for a 1st rounder(WAS) that would've sealed the deal. Considering what the Pels traded, Id say the Lakers would've overpaid for DMC.

Why would you want the Lakers to overpay for the biggest whiner/cancer in the league? Consider us fortunate to have passed up this "deal".  Boogie's problem has never been his ability...it been the stuff going on inside the space between his ears. That, and he plays no defense whatsoever.

I didnt say that. But any deal that doesnt involve Russell and Ingram while getting DMC is a steal for the Lakers even if he's gonna hit free agency in 2018.

I hope the Lakers can get a 1st rounder for Lou and maybe something for Young. These assets can help down the line if Lakers wanna make a push for Butler, Pg or anyone else.

Curry only played 3 years in college and was a much more solid player than hield in his rookie year

Hield has been a trainwreck largely

Kings had their hands tied. It was either trade him for pieces now or watch him walk for nothing in the off-season.
