Definitely getting a strong vibe that Jim and Mitch are both gone this summer.  I think the real question is whether Magic himself is filling that void or if he is simply advising Jeanie on who should fill that void.

Even if that power vacuum is being filled by Magic?

Jim has no choice. He can't say something then go back on it like nope. As a grown man all you have is your word.

Yo slow your roll he is coming in as an advisor not head of ops or GM, I don't see an issue with this other than time with Dodgers. His input can be accepted or not.

Somewhere in the back of my mind I'm already preparing for Isiah Thomas or Joe Dumars to be running the team next year.  Maybe Kevin McHale.

Jim brought it on himself when he said "gimmie 4 years". Let's hope Magic's actions differ from his words... Or else we're [expletive]ed.

But damn it Jeanie, out of all people... the only person you found to replace Jim is Magic?

Of this I have no doubt.  He's liable to tweet so much stupid [expletive] we'll likely forget half of it.

Fido would lose his [expletive] if Jeanie replaced Jim with Magic. Holy [expletive].

If they fire Jim and Mitch I see them cleaning house.  Im not so much concerned about firing Jim/Mitch as I am about the replacement.  The fact that Magic is an advisor is a terrible move to me.

IF Jim is fired I wonder if we could have Mitch take Jims position and Ryan take the GM position.

Maybe Magic is smart enough surround himself with a great team to help him make decisions as he does in the business world

Sure, but that doesn't mean he should be involved in basketball decisions.  Even some of the dumbest fans know that Magic shouldn't be involved in stuff like this.  If they want to clean house I won't object to that but at least bring in someone with a fresh set of eyes who wants to run a basketball team not bring back the old Laker feel.

Anyone else find this odd coming so soon after Jeannie and Phils engagement called off?

Wonder which had a role in the other?

I actually want Magic around both Russell and Ingram as i feel he could really help those guys grow

Praying for  1. Youngsters Ballin (Didn't really happen on a consistent basis at all) 2. Miracle Trade (Also didn't happen. And we traded our best player for chump change) 3. Kick Ass Rooks (Zubac exceeded, Ingram tried but disappointed overall)

READY FOR SEASON TO BE OVER!!!

If they get rid of Mitch and Jim why not let Ryan West be the GM with a little control and just get someone to be the president of basketball operations that he can work with.

Its been assumed for a while that Ryan would replace Mitch once he retired. You just don't let a guy with that eye for talent go.
