lol this is not a rivalry.. in the NBA its created by players. No Magic vs bird or Kobe Vs the big four.

Kudos to that team. They came a long way from PP and Garnett era.

Lakers outscored the Celtics in Q 1,3 and 4. Its the 2nd that hurt us.

Im surprised the Lakers didnt try to expose or work IT on offense. Could've posted him up more.

It may be my eyes, but it seemed like Russell couldn't post him up down low for whatever reason. Could it be the leverage of IT being shorter? Who knows...

I wasn't expecting Russell or anyone to stop Thomas, but good god, Russell doesn't even try,

I seriously can't stand him or his game.  He can't be dealt soon enough for me.

Our 20 year old point guard just had 20, 6, 6 and had a 3:1 assist to turnover ratio and shot 40% despite struggling from 3 and you want to complain that he didn't do a good job defending IT?

YES!!! Defense is half the game and he has yet to play a game where he defends.

When you give up what you do on offense and more because you're incapable of playing HALF THE GAME you're damn right I complain about a player.  The kid is deficient and there's no improvement or even a sign of wanting to improve.

Again, I wasn't expecting him to stop Thomas, but he wasn't even within two4 feet of the guy the entire time on the court.

So your issue is that we drafted him in the first place, yes?

Because I can tell you we definitely did not draft him for his defense.

The way we look we didn't draft anyone for defense except Ingram.

Ingram and Nance but yes I would say that is correct.  Russell, Randle, and Clarkson were not drafted for their defense.

Russell did and Ok job on Thomas until he caught fire on the fourth.

I actually think this is one of the games where Russell stayed the most with a top tier PG.

Not an unseen before, but it surprises me how his IQ regressed since he was drafted.

He will end up being a very solid role player through his career but will never be a star..

Road game + back to back + tanking = unwatchable again.

Lakers gunning for the pick...pretty obvious of late

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Add to that some baffling lineups and I agree.

I'm not sure if some people on here actually watch full games but outside of the 4th quarter scoring barrage, Russell played very solid defense no Isiah.  Call my crazy but Russell's defense has improved immensely.  He knows how to utilize his strength and once his body fully matures and he gains more muscle mass, he'll be a solid defender.

Clarkson and Lou are the players you guys should watch on the defensive end.  Lou's defensive effort and output is a DONUT and as for Clarkson, he's regressed on both ends of the floor.

Maybe Luke needs to reign him back a bit.  The GS green light to shoot mentality appears to have hurt his game whereas Lou and Nick have thrived.  Needs to go back to being more of a play maker.  Driving and dishing instead of just driving looking for his own shot or just settling for a jumper.
