At season's start, JC seemed poised to be.
Then some thought Deng could be.

As the season started Dlo, Lou and Nick emerged.
Lately Randle came on strong.

For me Randle slightly below Dlo. Then Nick and Lou

There going to be recency bias. Its more clear to tell who is/was the best player after the 82 games. Too early to judge now.

I think who has been the most consistent this year so far is a better question, and I'd say its been Young and Lou.

Not sure if there has been a clear best overall.  Nick Young has probably been the most impactful on both ends though.  Lou had a scoring hot streak and Russell's impact was felt while he was out on the offense.

Above all I think having Russell gives us the best chance to win games.

I think Young is currently our best player. Lou is an easy second. I'd give Russell 3rd but after that it's a toss up. I expect Russell to be our best player by seasons end though.

The entire season, I think Lou and its not real close.

But 2nd 3rd and 4th are

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Lou has been the best, Nick has probably been the most consistent two-way player, and Russell to me has been and will most likely continue to be the most important.

Lou

Randle

Russell

However... Russell's presence on the court has the biggest impact upon our team's success.  While he hasn't placed up consistent numbers nor consistent play, the offense is much more fluid with him simply being in the rotation.

Individual Lou, team Nick. Without Nick, this team sucks big time.

Lou is the best Laker.  He is an awesome 6th man on a team that is basically full of what would be awesome 6th men on good NBA teams, he just happens to be the best of the bunch.  Unfortunately, you don't win with 6th men.

I think it's Randle. Think he has the most impact when he's on the floor.

I do think eventually it'll be Ingram though....

I'm just glad we have all this young talent. It's been really fun to watch so far, despite some bad losses that could have been wins.

Last I checked, we don't win BC relatively speaking we score less points than the opposition. I get what you are saying but I think it's a combo of age and talent and mostly talent. The Lakers are very middle of the road talent without a superstar.
