No one out there worth trading the young guys for.  I said on a few occasions that chasing Boogie in free agency would be great in 2 years.  If not then move on and continue to get better from w/i and other key additions.

Boogie is better than most give him credit for.  The #1 thing about him is that he's a small ball killer.

Yeah, we cant give up the farm for Boogie, because then we'd just be the Sacramento Kings of LA. Best course of action is to move on him in 2018. By then i would imagine guys like Ingram, Russell and Randle have improved to the point where Boogie can take us to the top in the West.

Randle and Boogie would demolish small-ball lineups on a nightly basis - and those two may even be the 3rd and 4th best players on our team (after Ingram and Russell).

As much as I'd love to see the Lakers get him, Boston will swoop in as quick as they possibly can to grab the guy.

And like I said a while ago about this, the Kings no longer care about playoffs or winning, they love draft picks and the promise of getting better more than actually being better.

The Celtics have exactly what the Kings want - an established player, maybe a young player and/or a pick to go with 'em.

The talent level is off for sure, but a trade like:

Kings give up Cousins

Celtics give up Bradley, Olynyk and Mickey (throw in draft pick)

Something along these lines, considering Cousins trade value is slowly going down becuase of hbis reputation may work for both teams.

Cousins is the most overrated player since Kevin Love.

I think Boston has a good chance at landing him as well.

Jaylen Brown, Brooklyn '17, '18 and a bunch of fillers.

Or how about:

Mozgov, Randle and the 2017 pick (if we manage to land it)?

Mozgov, Randle, and a draft pick for Cousins?

DEMARCUS COUSINS IS GOING TO BE A RESTRICTED FREE AGENT NEXT SEASON!

DEMARCUS COUSINS IS GOING TO BE AN UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENT IN TWO SEASONS!

DEMARCUS COUSINS IS AWARE OF THE LAKERS INTEREST IN HIM!

DEMARCUS COUSINS IS NOT LIKELY TO SIGN LONG TERM ANYWHERE UNTIL GETTING AN OFFER FROM THE LAKERS FIRST BECAUSE HE ALREADY KNOWS THEY ARE INTERESTED IN HIM!

Cousins to Celtics actually makes sense, Isiah is still there to keep him grounded. But Horford is damaged goods. Bradley Stevens is the type of coach that he needs and he would actually prosper in Boston, but having to share traditional back-to-basket looks with an overpaid and damaged goods Horford, Cousins will still not sign long term with Boston until receiving an offer from the Lakers first.

This puts Sacramento in a bit of a bind.

The absolute best their gonna get for Cousins, which I think we should just lock him up now, is Nance, Tarik, and some sort of future asset.

And you know, I don't think Cousins is even necessarily 100% necessary for us to win championships anymore. With Randle continuing to develop, with Ingram still years away from hitting his physical peak (keep lifting weights and drinking your milk and eating your spinach and broiled chicken breast boy) we really only need a slight upgrade over Mozgov.

I think an alternative to Cousins if his behaviour issues dont improve (esp. if we have problems with him here) or if he does end up signing long term somewhere else:

Nerlens Noel

Which we can get even cheaper than Cousins, and we can get him this season.

The only option for the lakers to get him is THROUGH free agency. Not givin up one of our young players.

Cousins just need a fresh start. He has shown e can play ball and Luke would know how to handle him.

Just look how he was during the Olympics. You see any complaints about him.

DeMarcus Cousins in combination with our core would essentially cause us to destroy any other 'small ball' team we come up against.

The bane of the 'small ball' era that's going on, is a dominant center on a GOOD team.  Problem is, the majority of them aren't.

If the Lakers by 2018 were a playoff team and landed Cousins with their core they would be a nightmare to matchup against and would be dangerous not only as a three point threat and system they run, but the fact that in the halfcourt they have Cousins to go to if they needed to slow the offense down.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

Privately hoping for that scenario too maj

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!
