how come DPOY doesn't make it to the All defensive team?

I saw that after I posted and didn't wanna have my post edited. I actually wanted to put Anthony Davis.

Clippers with a better record than the Warriors?  I can't see that happening.

Kawhi Leonard has a shot at MVP this year I'd say, as well as DPOY.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

I think Paul George is a sleeper, if he can get the Pacers to a top 3 seed while stepping up his game he can easily be in the running. He seems to have talked himself into that mentality so we'll see how it translates especially with the new core and coach

Most Valuable Player: Lebron. He just proved that he's the best player in the world. Kawhi could win it as the best player on a top 3 team that doesn't have two other all-star caliber players around him.
Defensive Player of the Year: Kawhi Leonard.
Rookie of the Year: Brandon Ingram.
Coach of the Year: Brad Stevens
Most Improved Player of the Year: Jeremy Lin
Sixth Man of the Year: Andre Iguodala

All-NBA First Team
C - Anthony Davis
F - LeBron James
F - Kawhi Leanard
G - Stephen Curry
G - James Harden

All-NBA Second Team
C - Demarcus Cousins
F - Draymond Green
F - Kevin Durant
G - Russell Westbrook
G - Chris Paul

All-NBA Third Team
C - Karl-Anthony Towns
F - Giannis Anteotokoummpoposoeuko
F - Paul George
G - Kyle Lowry
G - Damian Lillard

All-Defensive First Team
C - Anthony Davis
F - Draymond Green
F - Kawhi Leonard
G - Marcus Smart
G - Ricky Rubio

All-Defensive Second Team
C - Karl-Anthony Towns
F - Paul George
F - Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
G - Jimmy Butler
G - Chris Paul

Best Record in the Conferences
Cleveland Cavaliers (East) Golden State (West)

Surprises
Clippers fall off a cliff and start making moves before the deadline. Warriors coast to 70 wins. Spurs coast to 65 wins.

Eastern Conference Finals (team vs. team)
Cavaliers vs. Celtics

Western Conference Finals (team vs. team)
Spurs vs Warriors

NBA Finals (team vs. team)
Warriors vs Cavs

2016-17 NBA Champions

The problem is that the MVP rarely goes to a team that isn't 1st or 2nd seed.  OKC isn't going to be that high so he won't get it.

Westbrook a sleeper.

I don't see the Nuggets coming close to the 7th seed, let alone making it over the Thunder and Jazz. Damian Lillard would need to dominate the league harder than LeBron to catch the 2nd seed

Most Valuable Player: Kevin Durant
Defensive Player of the Year: Kawhi Leonard
Rookie of the Year: Brandon Ingram. No rookie has impressed me outside of Embiid. If he's playing 25-30 mpg by Christmas, he's the front-runner.
Coach of the Year: Brad Stevens
Most Improved Player of the Year: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Sixth Man of the Year: Andre Iguodala

West:
1. Warriors
2. Spurs
3. Clippers
4. Jazz
5. Blazers
6. Thunder
7. Rockets
8. T'Wolves

East:
1. Cavs
2. Pacers
3. Raptors
4. Celtics
5. Hawks
6. Pistons
7. Knicks
8. Bulls

MVP could be Westbrook, or Paul George, or maybe even Blake.

Probably not Durant or Curry, but who knows.

I think it will be a pretty entertaining season, but it really does seem predetermined for cavs/GS 3.0.

Which is fine by me. I like the rivalry a lot.

Everyone else just playing for paychecks but know the writing on the wall

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Westbrook as MVP? he only has a chance if he leads OKC to a top 3 record in the West.

I really can't see voters rewarding KD for going to GS.  Very unlikely that he wins MVP in my opinion.  I agree that the Thunder won't be a top 2 seed so I also think Westbrook is unlikely.  LeBron's regular season minutes have been reduced the last two years.  He turns 32 in December I think he and the Cavs play it safe so that they're healthy and ready to go come May so I don't think his MVP chances are terrific.  With so much talent on GS and Cleveland I don't see voters going in that direction.  My favorites for MVP are Kawhi and PG.  If the Spurs and Pacers get the #2 seeds in their conferences I like either one of them to be MVP.
