The Sixers just announced further medical evaluation and treatment options are being considered before a timetable on Ben Simmons is issued.

Ben Simmons has suffered a fracture in the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot, per the #sixers.

This is a similar injury that brook lopez got that has plagued his career.

Randle should be on the phone to him today.

It would mean a lot

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Damn that's too bad to hear. I really enjoyed his amazing passes in Summer League.

I read the recovery can be as quick as 2 months so in the short term it may not be the end of the world but hopefully this isn't a reoccurring thing in his career.....

The dude added 33lbs over the summer. Maybe that has something to do with it. Can the body support that so quickly?

Seeing how they've treated Embiid with his injury, they're not gonna let Simmons on the floor anytime soon.

KD had a preventative surgery and it has seemingly worked out for him. I'm sure they'll opt to go that route. He'll miss a few months in that case. If they just let the fracture heal, he'll be back on the floor in 6-8 weeks.

I'm sure gaining all of that weight had something to do with it. The fracture was apparently caused when he turned his ankle. If it was a normal ankle turn, he should be fracturing anything.

Totally forgot about Noel's injury. That's crazy. They have the worst luck.

They caught Portland's injury bug.

Bad news for Simmons, but if it is handled correctly, then he should return some time this year. Hopefully they don't shut him for whole season.

It's too much to add to someone his age in his first season, the mass is too much to deal with against grown men.  Gradual progression is key.

Too much mass, too fast.  Ask Anthony Davis how that works out.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

Eh, most people are convinced he pretty much lied about how much weight he gained. He was listed at 240 at LSU and he's 250 now. The 33 pounds he gained was probably since high school or something. No way he's in the 270-280 range right now.

Bad luck for Simmons, but lets hope he comes out of it ok. In terms of wins/losses i dont think it'll change much. Saric will easily fill the PF role.

Ingram got ROY in the bag now?

I got a bunch of friends who were super upset at this news as they should be. Sucks to see a young player with all that talent go down like this before the start of the season. Hoping he heals back to 100% and can get some expierence this year. I look forward to having 41 chances throughout the year to watch this kid in person, has a whole lot of talent.

All I want for Christmas is a Laker girl :D

Oh no, Embiid, the guy who hasnt played a game of basketball in 2 years is already ROY. At least thats what a lot of 76er fans have been saying for months.
