ESPN has a poll asking who has the greatest legacy, Kobe or Tim.

The votes are split evenly at 50% each (5k votes each)...amazing.

Tim Duncan retires. No statement. No letter. Just a brief Spurs release: 1,072-438 (.710) record. Five championships. Goodbye No. 21.

Respect.

Q: When you take off your jersey for the final time, what will you leave behind on the court?

Ok, ive thought about this and might take some heat here...

But as a longtime fan of this team, and given that Kobe and Tim have had parallel careers that were as close to all time as you can get, I'll take the way Kobe went out every time.

I've seen and been at championships and deep playoff runs, but getting to watch all the other teams and fans recognize greatness that belonged to us and honor that greatness with tributes and thoughtful gifts as well as thanks...along with the 2nd pick in the draft...and a whole new coaching staff to be excited about to start the next chapter in this teams history....

Now that's blessed.

Excited for  1. Lebron! (Still love me some Kobe, but damn this guy is amazing) 2. Another big get (Whether in FA or in a trade we need some attractions and closers) 3. Young Guys making big jump (Assuming we have anyone left after more necessary moves either genius ones or in desperation)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Couldn't disagree more regarding these retirement tours. Gifts and all that BS SMH. You think Kobe would do it again like that? I don't.

Not sure if he'd admit to it. But yeah. I do.

He's got the rings.

So do a lot of players.

Very very few get to go out the way he did. With the whole league acknowledging your career and contributions

Only Hoops players i can remember are KAJ, Dr J, and Kobe.

(note no MJ, no magic, no bird, no shaq, no dream, no Wilt, no russell)

That's as exclusive a group as you will find in the history of the sport...and we get to claim 2 of 3 as ours

easily he'd do it again. He prob wouldn't have done it if the team was competing for a championship however. What's wrong with receiving praise at the top level in your occupation? He spent his whole life dedicating himself to being an all time great.. i would like a slap on the back once and awhile..

Wow. Vin Baker sighting.

The original larry sanders.

4 Lakers in All Star game and we couldn't win chip or get to finals

When you rely on Nick Van Exel and Eddie Jones, you aren't winning jack.

The moment they jettisoned them, dynamite.

Hey they won Shaq and that's good enough for me
