Clarkson's deal really softened the blow of the Mozgov one for me.

What a steal compared to what he could have gotten.

Think of it this way, if you switched the contracts of Mosgov and Clarkson, no one would be complaining about squat.  Yet we'd still be paying the same amount :D

I just watched these again and I am FLOORED by how UNDER-RATED Mozgov is in P&R!!!

If you watch these as a coach, you see him almost ALWAYS in the right position.  Spacing is crazy.  He seems to always move to the right spot and put himself at the right angle for a pass AT THE RIGHT SPEED.  His feet keep moving and he always relocates to a spot that he should be in.  His focus on what he does best is almost always there...

If he were a better passer, I'd say he'd be almost an ideal C for this roster, at least as a starter.

Pair him with a good passing forward like D-Mo

or a high energy forward like Markieff Morris (Larry Nance, anyone?)

and you've got great complements to Russell/Clarkson/Ingram on the wings.

This could actually be a fun team to watch!  LOL...

So Deng @ the 3 or 4 spot? He gives us a bit of versatility now with different lineups.

Either:

Russell / Huertas?

Clarkson / Lou

Deng / Ingram

Randle / Nance /

Mozgov / Black / Zubac

or

Russell / Huertas?

Clarkson / Lou

Ingram / Nance

Deng / Randle

Mozgov / Black

Only thing is Nance isn't really a 3 IMO.

Amazing pickup! Can't wait to see how Luke utilizes all of them in his game plan. It's not about the money IMO, but rather who we obtain to mesh with our young core.  :D

I think Deng would come off the bench.

I could see Deng playing a very much Iggy like role.

Deng would probably move to the 3 when nance comes in.

^Yeah he actually makes us really interesting in terms of lineups whether he starts or comes off the bench.

Again, it's a little longer than I'd hope but I think it was a solid signing.

Lol depression sets in. I like him but not for 65 mill. Wtf man . Smh

You are in need of taking your reality pills, we are not the Lakers of old, sure theres history but what does that mean to a guy playing today? Nuthin! You have to have a competitive team with solid direction. It's just getting started so get in sit down and hold on! In todays market that's the going rate and remember you must spend 90% of your cap or give it to the players anyway.

Sam Amick Retweeted Joe Porrello

Just checked on this, and...no options on Luol Deng's deal with the Lakers. Straight four years, $72 million.

Since we're crossing contract Ts and dotting Is here: I'm told there are no options on Timofey Mozgov's Lakers deal

Not surprised at all.  Team option was a pipe dream.  No option is better than a player option.  Makes him hypothetically more tradeable down the road.

Straight 4 years would be preferable for Mozgov as well.  Hoping for a team option sure but not holding my breath.

I do too.

Top 5 rebounder next season. Watch

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

I think he will too. Deng will be the small lineup 4.

Ingram has better chance to start on bench

It'll be interesting to see what Luke ultimately decides.

I think Deng kind of needs to start to give us a defensive presence, but then again in Miami he was more effective at the 4 than he was the 3....
