KD and Ibaka are really close. He only has one year of $12M remaining. They probably trust the Kanter/Adams front court and are looking to get more cap space.

Plus I don't see a team with OKC's history wanting to max KD, Westbrook, and Ibaka next summer.

I'd love to get Ibaka but not at the price they're likely asking.  He's a free agent next summer anyway.

It'll be interesting to see who they could flip him for.  He's a very versatile 4 that could be inserted into almost any lineup in the league.

Probably not the best thing to do with KD as an FA, I mean who could possibly be an upgrade over Ibaka?

Ibaka for love.

That's actually an interesting proposal. Wouldn't be surprised to see Cavs look to move Love. Ibaka is a better defender and can still be the stretch 4 they had Love being. If KD leaves, Love has a bigger role on OKC than he would likely find anywhere else.

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.

I believe Oladipo will be starting, he can more than hold his own on defense. I think odd man out in this situation is Roberson, and not Waiters... cuz they'll still need that playmaker off the bench

I think this was a move they had to make. They would have had to pay Ibaka 30M next season if they wanted to keep him and i'm not even sure he wanted to be there.

Oladipo, Ilyasova and Sabonis is a solid haul. Dipo will fill the hole they have at the 2 allowing then to part ways with Morrow and Waiters. Illyasova gives them some spacing and Sabonis is smart and productive and will contribute from day 1. From Orlando this is a good deal as well with a bit of a cog at the SG spot (Hezonja, Fournier) and a big man in Vucevic that doesn't defend all that well. It's a bit risky since Ibaka can leave, but i expect them to max him out - possibly early in the season, if they can.

Ibaka has been on the decline. Besides, if you look back at this past year's Playoffs, if OKC had even one more reliable shooter, they would most likely be in the Finals.

Far too often it was Roberson with a wide open 3 point shot that he would pass up -- totally killed the spacing. Now you have Oladipo, a respected scorer that also hangs his hat on defense. Not to mention Ilyasova is a solid big while Sabonis has potential (or simply an additional asset).

Great trade for OKC.

^Exactly. Assuming Durant comes back, I don't see how they aren't the favorites in the West. Now a lot can change (Warriors retooling, Spurs could add Conley and other pieces), but this was the biggest need for OKC and they addressed it in a big way. Oladipo isn't exactly a sniper, but you can no longer play 4 on 5 against them. He can get to the basket, create for others and is a legit 2-way threat.

Another aspect that isn't talked about is the addition of Ilyasova. He's easily going to be the second best shooter on that team behind Durant. He spreads the floor for Westbrook and KD and is a legit threat from 3 when they are doubled or trapped (something they struggled with in games 5-7).

This is a big win for OKC. They've always had their eyes on Oladipo (tried to trade up for him in 2013 draft) and I'm very surprised at how easily they got him and what else they came away with.

What's underrated is the rebounder illyasova is. He's an okay defender but a very solid rebounder

He probably can be plugged in immediately as a stretch 4

Ibaka is not the same player he was a few years ago.  The Thunder needed to make a move to improve this team, even if it meant trading a player that Durant has befriended over the years.  If Durant leaves based off of that, so be it.

I think the dark horse here is Sabonis.  We know what Dipo and Ilyasova can do.  Sabonis has potential to be a starter someday, as long as the opportunity drops in his lap.
