Well Lonzo needs those minutes more...see the dilemma there?

We can give some of KCP's minutes to Clarkson. I'm sure KCP will be thrilled...but  we are just more effective offensively with Clarkson in the backcourt.

Clarkson's stats games where he's played 24 MPG or over this season

24/0/5
19/4/5
18/5/2
25/3/3
20/6/5
18/3/1
15/2/3
17/8/5
21/6/8
12/3/4
22/5/6
11/1/4
17/6/7
22/4/2
20/5/8
20/2/4
18/2/2
19/3/4
33/7/7
29/6/10

Clarkson is a Lou Will potential Super 6th man that is only 25 years old and on a bargain of a contract for his production when he's actually played that role on a consistent basis.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

Tell me the whole story Maj. What are his percentages? And assist/TO ratio too. Also, how many games won when JC plays 24-plus minutes. More importantly, what's the state of the team when he plays hero-ball? To me it's more like a tanking team where players try to sell themselves for bigger contracts.

Not saying he should be gone, he can be a valuable 6th man but he is still no control on the flow of the game. This is his biggest flaw and it hurts both him and the team.

Welcome Bron.

No doubt Clarkson has been solid this season, but it doesn't change that his salary going forward is going to prevent the Lakers from going after two max guys in free agency, which really is the main priority.

Also, lets not get ahead of ourselves with regards to his worth. I'm hearing these guys on the Lakersnation podcast and Lakers legacy podcast all talk about Jordan getting back a 1st round pick and not being wiling to trade Randle unless we clear Deng off the books and honestly i dont think they have any clue about what these guys' worth are at.

(Note: i will happily eat crow on this one if i'm wrong).

If we can shed Clarkson's deal without having to add incentive i think we should consider that a success because teams aren't too excited about taking on 12-13M for two years when they probably can sign someone with that money in free agency that can provide equal or better value. If we wait until the summer the few teams with ability to absorb his salary probably will be asking for future 1st rounders.

Clarkson will be back in LA at some point in his career, IMHO.  From his first game in SL to his last before he was traded, it felt like he was meant to be a Laker.

Good price.  Good attitude.  Took all of the criticism and still came to play every night.  He wasn't perfect but he was exactly what we needed for the role he played.  IMHO, people's expectations were too high.  We don't need every player to be an Allstar to make us better.

agreed. here is my personal take on jc. no matter What, since he was drafted he stayed who he was, a scorer. to me, he improved with his defense and his play making abilities. always was energy off the bench. he didn't break the bank and with all the trade talk, he still came out and did his thing

And your right, not every player needs to be an all-star to.make this team better. the team is slowly improving each year and they haven't had a single one. with the exception on IT and Lopez, this team of players in their 20's have the 2nd best record in the league behind the rockets this year. now just add one all star player like Minny did, maintain the core of this roster... DUMP ENNIS. they could be in the playoffs next season
