"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

Any coach that allows his team to play this poorly on defense for this long deserves his walking papers

Oh god. Here comes the basketball expert with his infinite knowledge.

How many decent defenders do we have?

At the most 2

LOL per Boozer, Lakers practice defense on Scott's lips, not on the court.  And that's from an insider.

“We just did it every day,” Boozer said. “Even if we did it for five minutes, 10 minutes.”

Every day? Is that hyperbole?

“Every day,” Boozer said. “In Chicago with Thibs, we drilled our defensive rotation everyday. Every day. In the morning at shootaround, practice day – it’d obviously be a lot longer on the practice day. But every day, we drilled it to make sure we know where we were supposed to be at, what we were going to do.”

And in Los Angeles?

“We talk about it a lot,” Boozer said.

I'm more frustrated with the offense to be honest. This team obviously lacks good defenders. But there's no excuse for them to be running these horrid sets. If the initial read is cut off the entire play collapses. Every time.

So what????

Really. What does that matter?

You think a team with rookies who had bad defensive reputations in college, and guys like Lou and Nick and old Kobe who are terrible defenders... Can be good with a scheme or practice?

Name a team like that !
Just 1!

On top of that Thibs practices too hard by most accounts so not practicing by his standards aren't optimal.

Okay.
Look at the rosters.
Kobe is selfish, Randle and Clarkson are kinda selfish/ trying to prove themselves.
Bass doesn't pass.
Nick and Lou are Iso guys.

So so often , you can tell guys get the ball and think they have the advantage.

I do think just by the kids getting older and Kobe retiring, this won't be as much of an issue next season.

Man, you are not tired of beating that horse, aren't you? Even in game thread. If it sickens you that much, don't watch.

If you want to get better at defense, you practice, at least you will get better, talking will get the team to nowhere, it has been proven every time.

Lack of defensive practice mean Byron did not spent much energies on defense, which again contradict what he proclaim himself to be -- a defensive minded coach.  the final result isn't important because he didn't even put any effort to improve our defense.  obviously you have no clue on how to improve a team.

Apparently your lack of intelligence prevented you from seeing what Boozer was trying to say.  then again, you never seem to have much clue about anything.

So what????

Really. What does that matter?

Memphis color analyst says Clarkson a true point. Russell isn't.
