Liked it.

It was more a show of storytelling than a telling of one.

Which i was fine with.

Think it might go instant classic.

Part Man in the Wilderness, part Dances with Wolves

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Leo won best actor at the Golden Globes for The Revenant.

Like I said... it's the weakest of the films he SHOULD have won an Oscar for.. but it will likely be the one he gets it for.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

The Oscar's traditionally don't award good/great acting in essence. It always comes down to how novel the performance is. Leo went for a Bravehart type performance and added his own twist, which is why he'll probably win.

Lol no. First of all it's the golden globes. Fun fact. The golden globes are voted on by 70 reporters, members of the Hollywood foreign press

Also fun fact in the same night revenant won, the Martian won for best comedy lol. It winning for best comedy was funnier than the movie itself

Now in terms of the revenant it's not an instant classic. Birdman was BY FAR the better movie and no one has talked about it since

This is IMO one of the weakest crops of best picture nominees in years. Any of the best picture nominees from last year would likely sweep the awards

Not to mention the critical reception of the revenant has been lukewarm

That's not true traditionally. Does it happen? Sure

But Sean penn in mystic river won for his acting, Daniel day Lewis in there will be blood? His acting, marlon brando for the godfather? His acting. I could go on. The only things the oscars are traditionally is year to year. What dictates who wins is almost a year to year basis

yet Michael B Jordan won't even get nominated for Creed most likely.

I don't get what you're trying to say here. Obviously everyone who has won an Oscar has won it for a great acting performance. However, most Oscar winning performances are winners because they have that extra something that we either haven't seen before or hasn't been done in a certain way.

Is it just me or is this movie super overrated? I have no problem with Leo getting nominated because he had a great performance, but other than that this movie was pretty average in every other aspect.

IMO, Tom Hardy's nomination is deserved.  He was excellent in this.  Leo, meh.  As has already been stated, he has been much better and more deserving of an Oscar in some of his other stuff, definitely not here though.  Nothing special about his performance at all...

^ Disagree.

Not every movie should be about superheroes and loud noises

When did I say anything of the sort?  I was speaking of Leo's performance, which IMO was nothing special.  I didn't mention anything about the quality of the movie itself...

They had to give Leo the Oscar because he deserves it, but not for this movie, solid job, but not his best movie at all.
