Just watched it. Best word to describe it is brutal. Don't expect a crazy thriller type movie. A true survival movie based of revenge. Hopefully Leo finally gets his Oscar for this one.

My friend let us borrow a screener. I loved it, just thought it was a bit too long.

Hated it, thought it was terrible, really poor story telling, and to top it off laughably unrealistic. Talk about loosely based on a true story. Shouldn't be nominated for a damn thing. Maybe best actor. But seriously, someone needs to take this movie to an editor. Jesus, so much wasted time, expect to watch a good 45-60 minutes of Leo limping and then another 10-20 min of scenic shots good lord. Oh and talk about meaningless and emotionless stories throughout. Those Native Americans were so useless to the story.

IMO the worst of the "Oscar" contenders by far

I feel like a biologist would walk out of this movie with a grin and say well that was a nice fantasy. I'm all for suspending belief in a movie that is billed as requiring it. I walk into Star Wars expecting for some things to not adhere to this realm of reality

But the revenant had just as much license with reality as Star Wars. I was laughing half way through it. Checking my phone throughout, people were laughing in the theater. I'd nominate the force awakens for an Oscar before this and I wouldn't nominate the force awakens lol

Amazingly enough it would probably be the movie Leo wins the Oscar for.  After essentially being robbed in movies that were 50 times greater

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

Paul Dano is the favorite but I haven't seen the film yet, also is probably put fassbender ahead of Leo

If wolf of wall street had come out this year Leo would be a shoein

Yeah it looks fantastic until you see what kind of injuries the human body can sustain, the time before our modern medicine is astonishing
Imposible is nothing.

There is no such thing as a plea of innocence in my court. A plea of innocence is guilty of wasting my time. Guilty. Inquisitor Lord Fyodor Karamazov.

Beautiful movie.

the real glass couldn't get his sweet revenge because the guy was already enlisted when he found him.

If he would have been in a warm weather, gangrene and other kind of infections would have killed him a few days after his injuries

The movie was entertaining to watch, but was not a good story by any means. No development in characters and everything is just set up to be motivation for revenge. Very lacking in every major story aspect, but is still worth a view just because it is interesting to watch even though there is a lot of rinse and repeat in this movie.

I mean well ignore hypothermia, submerging in freezing water multiple times a day and then sleeping in snow in said soaking wet clothes. And one breath on finger nails is enough to warm up and prevent frostbite
