Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Said it before but I still don't know why we even bothered picking up Sacre's team option.  Maybe we thought we could trade him?

Why was it a bad thing to pick up his option?  He's a 12th-15th man making barely a million bucks.  He's making below the vet minimum for a player with a tenure of 5 years.  Sacre isn't good everyone knows that but he's a solid teammate, plays hard and is probably a good practice player which adds value to the team.

His option was also picked up before the draft and before free agency, so the idea that they should have axed him b/c of x,y and z doesn't make sense.

Yea a bit of hindsight but I don't want him to get a spot over Black or Upshaw and I can't really see us carrying 4 centers.

B4 season I said Kobe, Clarkson, & Lou Will would be scorers for this team this is evident now in beginning gms. To rank top 5 players of season so far its

1. Jordan

2. Lou Will

3. Randle

4. Hibbert

5. Kobe

Kobe

Randle

Clarkson

Nance

Russell

Bass

I don't think even Kobe himself would like being the best player on the team. He'd probably say there's something wrong with that. But objectively he is, and there's something wrong with that.

Clarkson is better than he's playing, he's just struggling with the offense, lineup, and rotations.

Nance has steadily been getting better and plugging the holes in his game. He should not be starting and Byron is overplaying him over Randle.

Speaking of which, benching him and reducing his minutes is puzzling, especially when he hasn't done anything wrong and is actually having a great year. Can't wait to see more of Randle.

Bass has always been overweight and lazy on defense, even in his days in Orlando and Boston. Dude's got hops, and as he's shown earlier in the season, when he actually tries and cares, he can be a good interior defender. He just needs to care.

Russell here has the highest upside and will probably be our 2nd best player next season. When we played the Grizz I saw the comparisons to Conley which I thought was right. There's no reason he shouldn't be at least that good right now. He has grown and matured and has went from being super timid and scared and awkward to being a lot more aggressively offensive, probably under the tutelage of Kobe. His defense has also gone from being awful to now average. He's staying in front of his man now and giving a real contest instead of sagging way off (not intentionally to force a jump shot; as a result of no effort) and giving a real contest.

I understand Byron's decision to start and develop Nance, but Lou Will and Hibbert should really only be starting for the first 4 minutes and Russell and Randle/Bass should be coming straight in.

I also agree with another post on here that Sacre shouldn't even be on the team. That guy isn't strong enough, athletic enough, or skilled enough, to be on an NBA team. Put him back in the d-league.
