Before the season and during as things change rank the Top 10 Lakers
1)Kobe-benefit of doubt
2)Randle-something screams impact player
3)Hibbert-defensive anchor
4)Clarkson-some nights he'll be our best
5)Russell-he'll put it together start of the calendar year
6)Lou-sixth man
7)Bass-Steady play off bench
8)Black-same
9)Nick-will spark a couple comebacks
10)Jabari-fill in better than expected for Kobe's rest games

Game impact rankings moreso than fantasy stats.
Obviously more info will be available in the following weeks and months.

Lou is better than everyone on the Lakers except for maybe Kobe/Hibbert. Russell currently is not better than Young, he obviously will be by mid season but as for right now I'd seriously doubt it. Randle is way too high imo.

Kobe
Lou
Hibbert
Clarkson
Young
Russell
Bass
Randle
Black
Jabari

Somehow this is the most depressing thread i've seen in a while.

Agree somewhat with ^^^^^fido - although i'd bump Hibbert a few spots based on his importance as a defensive presence.

Easier if we just stick to 5 best.

If we can find them

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Top 5 - in any order - should be:

Kobe, Lou, Clarkson, Hibbert and Russell and Randle. That's 6. I dont care.

I think there's even a chance Nick slips in ahead of Randle and Russell this season in terms of impact.

But i agree with the post. Impact of players likely to change game to game with Kobe still having the greatest impact by far

Russ may already be better than JC in terms of pacing, shooting, passing, iq and defense

Russell still looks largely invisible comparatively to me v Clarkson though

Everyone seemed quite timid and shy... no one really caught my eye and convinced me that they'll surely cause trouble for opposing teams next year.  Of course, it's only one preseason game.  With that in mind, I think the starting 5 in general played decent basketball.

Russel showcased his vision but I hope see see some more offense from him.  Kobe has embraced his wing role, just needs to get his timing and form back.  Randle was extremely underwhelming and difficult to watch at times.  As an individual player, Randle has all the tools to succeed, he just needs to find his niche in this team and expand his range.  Clarkson I have alot of expectations for being that he shocked the world last year with his outstanding play.  He didn't really showcase anything outside of the norm either...

I'm starting to think this offensive scheme in general is really limiting our talent on the floor...  1 game, still many more to improve.  Let's hope not only do the players make proper adjustments, but the coaching staff does so as well.

1) Clarkson

2) Lou Williams

3) Russell (interchangeable with #4)

4) Kobe (interchangeable with #3)

5) Hibbert

Honorable Mention:  Nick Young
