Has anyone downloaded it? Any initial thoughts and impressions? For those who are unaware, if you are running Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 you are eligible for a completely free upgrade to Win10. You just need to redeem it within 1 year.

If I go from 7 to 10 will I finally be free of that massively space occupying troublesome winsxs folder?

Haven't turned on my desktop in a few months. I'll probably get to this and try it out this weekend if the reviews tell me it's worth it.

I like it so far. They brought back the start menu, thankfully... so that's a major plus.

IE looks and works ok I guess... just not something I'll use still lol gonna stick to my Google Chrome.

How much disk space does 10 generally take up in comparison to 7 and does it have a space hogging folder like winsxs so prominently and painfully featured in 7?

^ Do you have to wait though? You can force it or manually go find it can't you?

Had a resolution problem but just restarted the computer and it was fixed. So far it's been pretty good. The tiles were done much better this time. Have yet to run into anything really bad. I think Microsoft may have done good here.

Why are you so worried about storage? Hard drives aren't expensive at all anymore

How did you get your start menu to do this? Looks way simpler than mine.

That's actually the Cortana assistant. To access it, click the "Ask me anything" textbox. Then if you click the icon in the upper left hand corner with three horizontal lines, it will expand the icons to display text. You're going to want to go to the Notebook category, then to Sports. From there, you will notice "Teams You're Tracking" -- click Add and then the rest is magic. However, I'm not sure if you will be able to see any of these settings until you enroll in the Cortana program, which requires you to allow Microsoft to "learn about you."

Finally had some free time to install it, problem is it froze at 49%. Had to restart my computer after it recovered my previous version of windows and it booted back up I had to error message 0xC190010 - 0x3000D "The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phases with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation".

No clue what that means or why that happened but I had a feeling I was going to have a problem upgrading to windows 10. Any one have any idea why this happened? I am upgrading from windows 7, not sure if that makes a difference. Also, should I run the update in safe mode or some other way to hopefully get it to work? I'm not gonna take another try at it until I have a bunch of free time on my hand because I am pretty sure this problem will happen over and over again lol

All I want for Christmas is a Laker girl :D
