For $7M a year, Lou Williams is a bargain. Aside from igniting the bench (or taking ill-advised shots at times), he'll be a sought-after tradeable asset these next few years.

I wouldn't mind a Lou/Young duo off the bench, but Young has regressed and has been fairly injury prone. He's on a nice contract but his value isn't as high as it could be. I wouldn't be surprised if he'll be traded.

I'd prefer Young and Williams off the bench together.

Because it means that neither singularly is the focal point of the offense.  Thus you;d potentially see more wide open shots for them as opposed to having just one of them and watching them iso all day as the only offensive options off the bench.

Nick and Lou are probably more efficient together than they would be separate as the only offensive option on said bench.

We haven't traded for Hibbert yet.  We could have signed Davis and Williams and still had ~10 million in cap space left.

Yeah, but the only Center $10 million would have netted us is Kosta Koufos (he got paid around $8 for 3-4 years I believe), and he's not worth a long term commitment.

I think we keep Young since there is a possibility Kobe gets hurt.

Raptor fans dont seem too happy. They are calling the contract a steal. They are saying he was a big reason why they won a lot of games last season.

Really???

So essentialy after signing Lou Will we won't have much to offer anyone else then if that's the case. Outside of a veterans minimum correct?

After this signing we will probably seek SF with that exception worth 2,8 mil. After that, we only can offer veteran minimum contracts.
Impossible is nothing.

It is a steal. He was huge for the Raptors last season.

Lowry really fell off after the all-star break and Lou was the one keeping them in games.

I thought 4 years was too long myself however that deal gets better every year that passes so in two years the remaining 2 years 16 million won't be anything like his first 2 years for 16 million.  Anyway with Black and Davis maybe we don't even go after a center with the remaining 10 million.

This is a good contract.

Like others have said... SF position is still weak though.

I mean his playstyle is similar or enough to other 6th men in the league, jack up shots and at times can either burn the other tear or their own team.

Not a big deal since he does bring something to the table and certainly very cheap, but is this one of these moves that were just done for the sake of doing? I just don't see a major reason for exclusively wanting him.

The Lakers hoped Nick Young would be NBA sixth man of the year at some point. It hasn't happened. So they went and got Lou Williams today.

Had Davis been signed, Lou Will would be out of the equation.

How we sign them both first and then S&T for Hibbert?

Had we signed them both first, we wouldn't have the money to absorb Hibbert's $15 million dollar contract.  Pacers don't want to take much money back, they want a salary dump scenario.

Like nick young as a dude. Not so much as a player with a better version (Williams). Scott doesn't seem to like him, so 5.5 million is a lot To have sitting on the bench. I'd trade him if I could.

Interesting that he loves to go left but shoots right handed.  I don't mean that in a good or bad way I just find it interesting.
