Lakers now have to use that MLE on a solid 3 player.

Lou Williams

Good deal. If we had retained Davis this offseason wouldn't have been so bad.
Had Davis been signed, Lou Will would be out of the equation.

This team is getting closer and closer to being a 30+ win team. That may not sound great but it shows we are going int he right direction. My anger towards the FO is lessening.

Lou can't play the 3??
Don't really want him to. The amount of points he'd score at the three would be far less than what he would give up.

If the Lakers are working with a $69 mil cap number, they can sign Lou Williams w/o issue - if it's $67 mil they need to clear $2 mil

I watched Williams play a lot for the Raps last season. Like Real Deal said he needs to watch how many contested shots he takes, although when he gets hot he can easily go off for 30. He is also a great guy to have on the court late during close guys. The dude isn't afraid to take big shots and can knock them down. I really like this signing and he can be a huge contributor if he plays within the system and doesn't play too much iso ball which he got caught doing a bit last season.

Clearing 2 mill isn't hard. They'd let sacre out of his non-guaranteed contract and move Ryan Kelly to the Pacers in the Hibbert deal, or they could move both to the Pacers in the Hibbert deal.
Problem solved.
"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

Can someone explain to me why we have the room exception and not the MLE?
Not 100% sure but I believe it's because we were under the cap when free agency began as opposed to over the cap.

For $7M a year, Lou Williams is a bargain. Aside from igniting the bench (or taking ill-advised shots at times), he'll be a sought-after tradeable asset these next few years.
I wouldn't mind a Lou/Young duo off the bench, but Young has regressed and has been fairly injury prone. He's on a nice contract but his value isn't as high as it could be. I wouldn't be surprised if he'll be traded.

We haven't traded for Hibbert yet. We could have signed Davis and Williams and still had ~10 million in cap space left.

We don't have the MLE everyone. Just the under the cap room exception worth 2,8 million IIRC.
Really???
So essentialy after signing Lou Will we won't have much to offer anyone else then if that's the case. Outside of a veterans minimum correct?
