When Roy gets the ball damn near under the rim he should explode through defenders and try to dunk the ball everytime. At 270 he should make defenders not want to try him under the rim. After a few defenders get an elbow or two in the mouth when Roy is trying to dunk it will make things easier and or draw double teams

Roy, besides looking very good so far, has a bunch of goodwill in the bank as far as i'm concerned.

I seem to recall he gave up a couple million he was due in a trade kicker so that we had enough to go after Bass and Lou.

(not a david west type sacrifice, but that was crazy, and its still so rare to hear of this--i think magic also did this so the lakers could acquire terry teagle back in the day)

Praying for  1. Youngsters Ballin (Hockey stick growth curve for Randle, D'lo, Nance and Clarkson ASAP) 2. Miracle Trade (Lakers need a top 10 player...or maybe 2 to compete w bigboys) 3. Kick Ass Rooks (Ingram and Zubac getting playing time and impacting games)

READY FOR SEASON!

I just wanna see how he reacts to the L.A media when things go bad. He's shown some weird times in a small market like the Pacers so I'm still worried how he handles the Kobe/L.A media combo when he's struggling. There's not a lot of good cop leadership to balance out Kobe like in years past so his mental toughness will be tested more than ever before

Some GM really likes Roy Hibbert.

In the NBA GM survey that came out today, some GM (I suspect the same one in all accounts), voted the following:

Best off-season moves:  Lakers

Most underrated off-season move:  Lakers acquire Roy Hibbert

Best interior defender:  Roy Hibbert

Team most likely to improve:  Los Angeles Lakers

I should have filmed it but he was throwing candy/gum to fans last night during the breaks. The scorers table had a bowl of it.

Great article.

Roy Hibbert at center of efforts to improve Lakers' chemistry

The Lakers spent that day, about a week before training camp, on a paintball course near Long Beach. The field trip helps explain the early chemistry of this Lakers team.

“These guys get along extremely well,” Coach Byron Scott said. “They like each other, they push each other, and it doesn’t happen that often when you have this many new people, this early.”

Eleven of the 19 players the Lakers brought to training camp were not on the team last season. The player who is getting much of the credit for the fast-assembled group’s immediate cohesion might come as a bit of a surprise.

He’s a newcomer, too.

Roy Hibbert has quietly, quickly become a locker room leader. He shares stories of his own struggles when teammates are frustrated. He takes rookies to lunch. When the Lakers all received a group text inviting them to spend a day firing capsules of paint at each other, it came from Hibbert.

“It’s a small thing,” Clarkson said, “but at the end of the day, it made us closer.”

Hibbert knowing his role from Day 1 and the Lakers understanding precisely who and what he is and can do, and accepting it 100% helps a lot.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

I think San Antonio may have something to say about that first one; West, Aldridge and locked up Leonard. Unless Im missing something

I don't think GMs can vote for their own team or own players.

This was just what one GM voted. San Antonio was voted first in the best off-season moves category.

But, one person voted for LA

Happy with him. Seems even more engaged when guys make an effort to give him touches and get him involved on the offensive end, which is usually the case for just about any player.

yo.

Absolute garbage. Idiotic signing from M.Kupchak. I am glad he goes this summer.
